A warning is no big deal, just an instruction not to do what you got warned for. For some reason (maybe stupidity, maybe some other deficiency on your part, maybe something else) you felt the need to post "first". Now I don't wish to speculate about why (maybe you're dumb?) but the why (dumb maybe?) doesn't really matter, you posted "first" and you got warned for it because it's a shitty post that we don't do on teamliquid. You then felt the need for some reason (dropped on your head as a child?) to make a shitty topic in general forum asking if you were stupid for being offended by a standard warning message you got for making a shitty post. I then warned you for making such a shitty topic because you should have known better after you already got warned for shitposting but didn't know better for some reason (maybe foetal alcohol syndrome?). I also answered your question, although it was just my opinion and if you would like an official diagnosis of stupid then please consult a medical professional. I would not like to hazard a guess at why you saw the need to make yet another topic as you may get offended by my speculation on the matter. Almost as funny as that famous stock message imho. <3 Kwark.

Seriously, anyone that isn't visiting the internet for the first time should be able to shrug stuff like this off instantly. Yes, the stock message(s) could use updating but getting all upset about your family being insulted by some message made years ago is really ridiculous if you ask me.

Honestly. I'm the first person to be gulping down the kool aid and blindly praising everything the whole mod staff does, but even I'm embarrassed having read that.

1) OP makes a bad "first" post and got justifiably warned. Obviously, the stock warning message was in jest but in poor taste, especially if the user is new and didn't get it. 2) OP makes a post in General to complain: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=373092#1 Reading through the post, I didn't find much mistake other than it was in the wrong forum. I don't really blame the OP since the Website Feedback link is right at the bottom and easy to miss. Kwark closed the thread decided to warn him instead of simply moving it to Website Feedback. 3) To compound it, Kwark decided to throw a few unnecessary insults. 4) OP is now extremely incensed and posts this thread. Many users criticise the OP's snarky attitude but realise that many things have already happened. However, if the OP had instead adopted a better attitude, perhaps he would've won more sympathy and the issue gets resolved faster. 5) Kwark fans the flame: The post you got warned for ended "Am I just being stupid to feel offended?" Well, if the nerd was making some stupid comments to the schoolyard bully, yes I would probably clap along and say that he deserved it. Well, yeah but the insults sure are hilarious to everybody else.

Well, yeah but the insults sure are hilarious to everybody else. Well, I find several bans/warnings in your history. You saying "the insult are hilarious to everybody else" is in this regard hopefully not the overall TL stance. Like I already said I don´t find the PM ok, while I know that it´s not meant insulting. Not everyone is ok with such things (and I personally don´t think KwarKs post in this topic was ok, a normal user would be warned/banned for sure. The "this is our house" has a limit imo). I hope my overall post history indicates pro staff opinion, so this is not read as a simple "drama" post. And now go on for everyone not ok that OP says he´s not ok with being insulted. That´s my feedback, what is done with it knowing that others disagree is up to staff.

a) Assume it's been written out specifically for them, and take offense b) Don't get the humor, or find it intimidating, and it discourages them from posting Discouraging people from posting shouldn't be the desired effect of warnings; it should be to better their posting, or (in the more tame circumstances, such as this one) to just remind them/inform them to not make this specific type of post. I think it an exaggeration to say that you're "disgusted" upon reading the stock warning, though. It seems awfully highbrow to have that be your standard, when you're on the internet.

OP was tempting fate when he pm'ed you, but it appears you have lost some composure. You even told him to take it to the Website Feedback, and now that he's called you out you're so fucking bitter Well anyway, stock message is bad, OP is vengeful, Kwark is pretty pissed about the noise over a little issue.
