Who is MoreFaSho? I'm MoreFaSho on TL and jegutman on the ICC (internet chess club). In SC2 I'm a masters zerg, but more impressively in 2009 I achieved my National Master title from the US Chess Federation by achieving a published rating above 2200.
Why is your stream so awesome? Well, that's quite flattering, but my stream is only awesome if you like chess... with some SC2 sprinkled in. My goal is not to stream chess for a purely chess audience (although all are welcome), but to stream chess for some of my training for a starcraft audience.
What kinds of things can I expect to see on your stream? So far I've enjoyed streaming some chess games for my viewers, but I'll try other things as well such as watching me solved tactical exercises on my stream or doing any other kind of chess preparation on my stream. I love to interact with the chat and be a chess liaison to the sc2 community.
I might, on occasion, stream some of my SC2 playing, but I won't claim that's the "why" to watch my stream.
Okay, that's great for now, but how is your stream going to get better? That's up to you guys, the viewer. I'd love to improve the streaming experience for the viewers, but I want to hear suggestions on what I can do to make it better.
P.S. I plan to run no commercials for the time being as I 1) am not a JTV partner and 2) do not need the money.

First post-thread show: Tuesday, Jun 21 1:30am GMT (GMT+00:00)to about 03:00 GMT (+00:00) I will be streaming some tactical exercises and possibly some preparation / games. I will try to find things for you guys to enjoy.
Wednesday, Jun 22 3:30am GMT (GMT+00:00): Game review: Getting lucky and taking advantage of it I will be going over my own games from my best tournament result to date at the 2010 National Open in Las Vegas, NV and trying to give insight into my thoughts (the best I can remember them). If for some reason I can't finish them in time I'll let the overflow go into the next time I stream some commentary.
Thursday, Jun 23 2:10am GMT (GMT+00:00): For about an hour I will be streaming some slower practice games and commentating.
Then at 03:45 GMT (+00:00) Game review: Getting lucky and taking advantage of it part II I will be going over rounds 4-6 of my own games from my best tournament result to date at the 2010 National Open in Las Vegas, NV and trying to give insight into my thoughts (the best I can remember them).
Thursday, Jun 30 4:15am GMT (GMT+00:00): I will be covering my three games from the SCCF State Championship candidates tournament. This is the first time I'm covering recent games from a tournament and it should give an inside view into the things a high level chess player thinks about during a game, don't miss it.
Wednesday, Jul 06 3:50am GMT (GMT+00:00): Going to be streaming random games and maybe some game studying if I can get chessbase to work right. Look forward to seeing all my fans.

A stream that combines the two things which are my favorite? You've got yourself a viewer.
|
WTH... u are a NM? do you still compete? you are amazing :D will catch our stream when i am free
|
That sounds very cool. Will definitely tune in to watch. Love chess and love SC2!
|
That is incredibly impressive. Masters in two of the best games on earth. I'll definitely tune in
|
Hey, jdeliverer here! Awesome stream, will be watching in the future. Keep it up!
Also, masters really means something in chess, so it's not really that comparable to starcraft masters. What do you think master level in chess would be on iccup ladder?

I'm slightly delayed, but I will be going live in about 10 minutes.

Going live right now, just had to get set up.

Now that school has freed me from its clutches, I shall stay up as long as I feel like. Looking forward to your awesome tourney games today. If I might suggest, give us more trivia about yourself at the time of the tourney, and your opponents as well.
|
I guess I was one of the few watching yesterday, feel kinda bad for not joining chat haha but I don't know much more than the rules of chess but I find it quite intriguing and it was very interesting listening to your analysis etc. I agree with Crucial that more trivia would be nice aswell I hope the viewercount won't stop you from doing this again/more, I guess it's kinda hard both being a new streamer and streaming chess aswell

I watched this a couple days ago, and it was a very interesting and enjoyable stream. My only comment would be to increase your audio quality a little bit (it shouldn't put too much of a strain on your bandwidth). It's nice to have crisp clear audio, even if the video quality can't be super high quality.

Midway recap of tournament: I'm doing okay in the state championship qualifier. So far I'm 1.5/2 with my draw coming against a slightly higher rated opponent in a game where I felt I overall played well.
I unfortunately have to take a 1/2 point bye in the last round so I probably need to win this game to qualify or my tiebreaks won't be good enough.
Edit: The stream was officially a huge success. I qualified for the state championship tournament. I will be going over all 3 of my games from the qualifier tournament on my stream probably Wednesday. Thanks to all who watched my stream this past week for your support.

This stream is wonderful, he interacts with the viewers and immediately answers questions when he can. Also, as far as i've seen, he's a talented chess player. Makes me want to play chess again. Definitely check him out if you need a break from some of the mindless streams that are popular here.

Everyone who thought this is pretty cool but got put off by the sound quality... rejoice! Because the next broadcast will sound so well that you'll think that he was streaming right behind you (may vary from user to user XD). I myself am looking forward to it.
|
I'm going live right now. Not sure exactly what I'll be working on, might start trying to get some opening ideas going for the state championship. Happy 4th to all.
