Ok so yeah, it's a few days after christmas (which also happens to be my birthday) and I still have no idea what I want. I told my wife not to buy me anything because I have no clue what I want or what she wants so I'm looking here for a few suggestions. When I go into gamestop i see like 10 different things I want, but I can't afford them all so I need some help deciding which of these are the best.
Some of the things I'm considering (I can spend like $200 for my bday/xmas)
-Red Dead Redemption -Kinect -Civ 5 -Halo Reach -Call of Duty Black Ops -Madden 2011 -Nintendo DS + a few games -Super mario for the wii -A second monitor for the computer -A new hard drive + windows 7 -Dragon Age -something else -Assassins Creed Brotherhood -donkey kong country returns -Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 -Puerto Rico Board Game
I like things like -video games (xbox, wii, pc) -board games -equipment for pc -card games -sporting events -music (i play the piano)
I don't really have a need for clothing or car equipment or sporting equipment since I have all that I've acquired over the past few years.
If you had to choose something from this list what would it be and why? If you can think of something else please list it too. Yes I already own starcraft 2
Edit; This is also post 1337 for me

I would personally go for the second monitor and/or new hard drive + windows 7. Dragon Age you can easily pirate, AC:B too once it comes out for PC. If you're a console kind of FPS guy, Reach / Black Ops are good stuff.

Which one do you like better? Reach or Black Ops?

Dragon Age and Civ 5 both definitely worth owning imo... but like he said they are easy to pirate if you aren't against that.

Hmm I have heard nothing but bad things about Civ 5. I have several diehard civ fan friends, they were so hyped for it and they all hate it. They say it is way dumbed down and feels very incomplete.
Puerto RIco is a pretty good game, well worth getting if you have people that will regularly play with you.

-Kinect so you can play with your wife. btw is she going to buy games for you ? sweet

DOMINION (the board game). So elegant! So fun!

Hrm, dominion looks fun, haven't heard of that one before but i really like ccg games. My wife and I tried out the kinect at best buy and it looked really fun. I've also heard bad things about civ 5 I just want to know how bad it is because i'm truly a civ fan.

my gf bought my black ops for xmas. its pretty awesome. Although sc2 takes my priority gaming-wise, whenever theres downtime im usually playing CoD :D

civ5 is a great game that has insane replayability, COD is just officially shitty now...
|
Hrm, all the reviews are all over the place. Younger players seem to like it a lot more than people who used to play civ 1 and civ 2. My personal favorite was civ3.

Has anyone else played dominion? It looks really fun.

I say go for the DS, pick up one of the new Pokemons and dragon quest, both are really good. Also, you can get golden sun if thats more your cup of tea RPG wise, I can vouch for DQ and GS.

For board game suggestions, have you ever tried out Ticket to Ride? It's SO much fun, and it won one of Germany's most prestigious board game prizes.

Dragon quest looks so much fun argh and i miss playing pokemon red.
Haven't played ticket to ride, will check it out.
this is making my decision harder not easier lol.

So i ended up getting Civ 5 and dragon age (i found a version with the expansion and all of the DLC). Civ 5 is ok so far. There aren't nearly as many decisions to make and it seems like it has a significantly higher focus on war which is ok. The combat is 100000x better than the stacking and i like the worker stuff and city management better. Science is basically the same, but i don't see an option to change how much research i'm doing. I really like to tech heavy, but i don't see that option. The city states are pretty cool and the graphics are nice and smooth unlike previous civ games and it runs great on my computer. The 2 biggest disappointments are 1. Music is pretty bad so far. 2. No Lenard Nimoy.
I've yet to play dragon age.
