GSL 3 finals is rather disinteresting to me. GSL 1 was good because it was the first and the Zerg underdog dominated. GSL 2 was good because someone finally stopped Foxer's mass-marine and frequent all-in-style play.
GSL 3 is one of the best Protoss ever in SC2 versus a fairly mediocre Terran. I'm sorry, but I don't agree that someone who cheesed and all-in'ed such a huge portion of their games should be in the finals. The games he did play straight up all felt unremarkable (and he usually lost), but all too often it was "my cheese / timing attack failed, time to SCV all-in and win." Iron, on the other hand, always played one step ahead of his opponents and even his cheeses were usually accompanied with solid follow-ups.
I'll watch the VoDs, but I won't watch it live.
+ Show Spoiler +Can you tell I don't like to watch all-ins multiple times in single sets?

all-in should be the standard if it results in wins the majority of the time.
people who don't do what guarantees the higher chance of wins are just stupid.

Clide vs Leenock. That is all.

I didn't like gsl 3 just because it was 2 rax scv allin, seemingly every game. Although I am very happy to see a protoss in the finals. TvZ is getting a little boring to watch for me. My favorite is season 1 just because I saw Tester play, and showed how well he does against cheese.

Agreed, first time I was willing to stay up late to watch SC2 matches instead of just waiting for the VODS.

I think one thing that everyone can agree on is that, whenever you care about the player and emotions come into play, that's when you truly enjoy watching it.
I still have very fond memories from season 1(lol as if it were a long time ago) because I was pulling really, really hard for fruitdealer. I don't know if most here still remember the metagame back then, but for those who don't, it was an awful time to be a zerg. They were dropping left and right and the last of them came THIS close from being eliminated by oGsTOP in the round of 16. ROUND OF 16!!!
After an epic comeback in a decisive game 3 against all odds(in kulas ravine no less) fruitdealer stood alone as the only zerg representative among the final 8. No one really gave him a chance to win it all, but game after game he proved them wrong.
Many people are saying that the level of play in GSL season 1 was subpar compared to the other 2. Maybe they are right, but in my eyes, fruitdealer's every game was an amazingly exciting nailbiter. I suffered with every drone fried by hellions, every shot a cloacked banshee got off, every overlord picked off, and cheered with every baneling splash and every time I saw an ultralisk. When you are that into a game, suddenly the level of play doesn't matter anymore. I remember my heart skipping a beat when I heard nydus worm scream in game 3 of the finals, and thinking nothing but OMGOMGOMG and next thing I know, the live report thread was full of people dismissing the game as "huge blunder by ITR". I could not believe they were watching the same game as I was.
Long story short: nothing beats an underdog story. GSL 1 for me!

Fruitseller shitting on Terrans when everyone says Terran is OP and zerg cannot win a game.
|
FruitDealer just because he won by an absolute mile, I still support him and want him to win in future.
That win was the first proper SC2 tournament I've watched and it was amazing, I think it helped inspire Zerg players who (myself included) were whining about imbalance. Even if there are foreigners at the GSL I still support the Fruit!

GSL 2 because of nada/boxer etc and that foxer changed the way how TvZ was played. The only good thing about GSL3 was jinro :/
|
GSL 3 cuz of the foreigner presence!!!

Have to vote for FruitDealer <3

The poll couldnt have waited until the rain MC finals actually played? Gsl3 has been pretty ridiculous but it will be the first tvp finals and it could be quite good if mc doesn't choke and rain doesnt allin.

I would have to say season 3 was the most interesting since it had so many foreign players in the top 64. Jinro and Ret games were the standout for me.
|
GSL1 clearly the best. FruitDealer showing people how underpowered Zerg really is.
|
|
GSL 3 because there isn't a zerg in the finals! :D and because Ogs.MC, i hope he has an epic ceremony for this!
