Indeed, gsl3 has been really disappointing. In season one only epic thing was FD. So overall best - 2.

Two had the best storylines. Fruitdealer winning 1 was great though.

I don't care much for the finals of season 3. MC should win 7-0 (some of his wins will count double).

I liked GSL 1 just because it was the first, but as far as games go I think GSL 2 has had the best.

I haven't watched too many games of GSL1, GSL3 is a lot of cheese (I play Zerg and watch mostly the Zerg matchups), so I voted for GSL2. Although I was kinda disappointed by the finals... all- ins are fun to watch every now and then but every single game..? come on...

GSL2, lot's of entertaining games throughout the tournament, map system was still in place and the finals weren't one sided. GSL1 finals felt a little one sided and GSL3 is looking like it will be one sided but then again Rain seems to be defying everyone so we will see.

GSL3 is by far the most boring GSL. I stopped watching it because all it became was an amalgamation of terran abuse into one gigantic season of cheddar cheese. GSL2, imo, was the best. The games were great (aside from the finals), Foxer's rise was met with critical praise, Boxer and Nada had great comebacks.

GSL 3 has been pretty awful, every T all-in, unlucky maps, and just seems play has gone down. I like GSL1 a lot more than 2 because I guess I just like FD a lot more than NesTea, and GSL2 finals were pretty boring I guess.

Which sucks, because with a lot of foreigners getting in, with two personal favorites ret/IdrA, and Jinro getting so far I feel it should easily have been my favorite. t.t

I would have voted for Season 3 if there had not been so much cheese thus far. I think its gotten better every season production and player wise, Excluding Season 3s rampant amount of cheese.

I'll give a foreigner-biased vote for GSL3.

The first two brought me nothing but disappointment. I still remember the scouting fails from TLO and Idra. =(

yep GSL2 was the best GSL. Marinekingprime had really some EPIC matches against FD and Kyrix.
Also the games of Boxer and Nada were extremly entertaining. group4 TvZ action was fun to watch... I don't know... GSL3 sucked so far. Too many all-ins from each race...

Hmm good poll. I have a hard time picking.
The finals of GSL 1 was awesome...and because it was the first one the excitement was kinda big and new.
GSL 2 had the best games overall I'd say, Kyrix vs Foxer and NesTea/NaDa solidity comes to mind.
GSL 3 was very interesting with a lot of foreign success and Protosses doing good and cool builds.
A lot of craziness with all-in going on as well.
Man... Well I'll have to pick GSL 3. For HongUn carriers, Jinro Success and Leenock vs Clide epicness.

Season 2.

S1 wasn't even good until Ro16/8.
S3 was just a bunch of all ins.

Season 2 definitely. Boxer + Boxer + Nada + Nestea + 4-3 finals + less all-ins + people knowing what they were doing as opposed to season 1, etc.

Obviously season 3 is gonna get foreigner fan voting...

Hmm, That would've been more fair, in my opinion, to wait after the final of this 3rd season to make this poll, as we still have a final series for this last GSL, where we could see some awesome games, making this last GSL of 2010 better than the 2 others!

Just my 2 cents, I think GSL season 3 was the most cheesy, but at the same time we saw some of the best play and the most refined strategies, so yeah... that's my choice already!

I've voted for GSL Season 1 because every Zerg was complaining that Zerg is not powerful enough, and Terran is just imbalanced. But then Fruitdealer appeared and showed how Zerg has to played. (See baneling drops )

The quality of games in this GSL has been far and away the best of the three. In terms of storylines, maybe GSL 1 has the edge, but in terms of watch-ability, it's #3 by a massive margin.

The way I see it:

GSL 1 > > > GSL 2 >= GSL 3

GSL 1

- In its own nerdy way, Fruitdealer's march to victory was heroic. At the time: all zerg had been eliminated by the ro8, zerg was considered way underpowered, Fruit was doubting zerg himself, the map pool was terrible for him, Intotherainbow was a strong favorite to win, and he was but a fruit merchant. Against all that, Fruit curbstomped the shit out of ItR and claimed his prize.

- Tester. The cheese deflecter
- TLO vs Hyperdub game 1 was fantastic
- Davit
- Inca played some good pvp games
- Cliiiiide
- Maru vs Cella upset

GSL 2

- Didn't really care for the finals. I was glad nestea won, but they just weren't very exciting. The games were too low tech.
- Kyrix vs Ensnare was good
- Boxer vs Nada was epic
- Foxer vs Kyrix was even more epic
- best music (Hoffmaestro <3)
- Hated that TLO got knocked out early
- "How do you deal with a protoss who tries to slip his cannon in your backside"
- John's speech

GSL 3

- Clide vs Leenock is easily the best series to date. Every game could have gone either way and the one of them went far into the late game.
- Strongest foreigner showing yet. Jinro was awesome.
- No map veto is stupid
- Tastetosis is on fire this season with the jokes. I salute Artosis' knowledge of guinea pigs and pokemon.
- Sadly, most of the matches have been terrible. There is too much all-in.
- We'll likely see the shortest finals ever. I expect a landslide win for MC.

Probably GSL 2 because I think it was way more emotional then Season 1 was and Season 3. Foxer almost breaking into tears after beating Kyrix, Nestea and Foxer both crying after the finals, heart pounding real fast as we waited for foxer to GG. John's speech. Chills down my back and back hairs standing up. SO MANY BANELINGS!!! and we all saw how Overpowered Marines are. HopeTorture on the verge of being eliminated in the Round of 64, (pretty close one) we learned how bad HopeTorture is after his Semi-Finals game. Lots of Upsets early on, (HongUn, Clide, MakaPrime, Fruitdealer, etc) Leenock vs Nada, Boxer vs Nada (Game 1 atleast, Nada fan). The birth of SCV marine ALL INS. Nestea the unbeatable until the Finals where he actually lost some games.
We got them GOM TvT's and them mlGG's

this.

seriously, i don't get what's up with everyone hating on this season coz it's been full early game rushes

then praising season 2 which was only notable for
foxer - who, uhm, kinda invented the marine rush we got this whole season -,

kyrix, who was extremely aggressive but not that good,

and for a champion who had amazingly solid play but it was hardcore on the defensive side, and when it comes down to comparing to other topnotch players, can only be characterized as idra put it "he's good but not as good as everyone thinks"; he only looked that godly by comparison to the season's lineup

ofc, there were nada and boxer -omg, that was epic indeed- , but let's be honest, neither played extremely well; sure they were fun and played a few amazing sets, and they were boxer and nada, and boxer was crying in joy and shit and he's frigging awesome in general, but so far neither of them even came close to the level of play mc and jinro or july showed this season (they actually couldn't even keep up with the pack for this season, nada didn't even qualify while training with ogs-tl of all teams, and boxer was superweak)

as for season 1, there were a few strong players like tester and fd, but the level of play was so low compared to the third season that it can't even count (anyone remember nestea's creep spread in s1. ? lol. -and that level of play was the norm then, not the exception), except for names such as the above mentioned which were miles ahead everyone else on the skill curve at that point

to just put it in short - to get your mind off the fact that there were indeed many players in this season who didn't deserve to even qualify let alone win some matches (hi overhypemvp, bitbybit) - just compare

1. level of overall play - s.3 was seas apart from the first 2, hands down

2. memorable matches (gosu solid play, not entertaining bling busts/marine rushes of s.2 or weird 6pools on kulas and such of s.1)

clide-leenock, mc-july stand out as providing the few possibly best games ever played in any sc2 tourney thus far, and they weren't freak occurences, there was plenty of rock solid play to be had all around this season, starting ro64/ro32 as opposed to the previous seasons getting interesting from the ro16 up - though people seem to think 1 or 2 base play ending matches rather early (~10-15 min. marker) somehow means extended cheese or less skilled play - what ? (ofc, talking outside of marine/scv and weak allins on the first or second attack - by any race, since all 3 did them)

3. jinro and mc - gsl 3 had them. thank you gsl 3 with all your casts, interviews and additional video footage via tl, gomtv or wherever

it's why i voted s.3, i think enormities such as "s.3 sucked so much, too much allins" are a disgrace to the best tourney in sc2 thus far

ps: i would vote season 2 if the poll was entitled "Most entertaining GSL so far" , i think s.2 was a more entertaining and possibly diverse season (let's remember we saw some pretty original and strangely solid builds/rushes s.3 as well), but definitely not better -in regards to the players' skills sets-, or more fan inspiring -for foreigner and MC (heh)supporters-

Don't really care that much about the cheeses. Jinro/oGsMC made GSL3 epic even tho their own match against each other wasn't the greatest.

Jinro man, JINRO! Clearly GSL3. Plus GSL3 had by far the most amount of foreigners, it was the best for sure.

I can't even say how many times I've rewatched the FD games from ro16 onward...I did the same with Foxer and Nestea. I can't think of a single series I'd even watch again this time around. I'm incredibly disappointed with GSL3.

GSL1 epic because a zerg won and showed that skill > balance QQ.
GSL2 epic because of nada and boxer playing
GSL3 epic because Jinro made it to the semi's

IMO GSL1 wins. If Jinro had made it to the finals though...

GSL 1 was sort of weird because things weren't established.

GSL 2 had good games, but even more all ins

GSL 3 had fail system, but awesome jinro.

GSL 3 for the Jinro action and strong Protoss presence. The constant SCV all ins almost ruin it though. That stuff is less fun to watch than a 6 pool.

gsl 3 cheese killed it for me. MC and jinro made it tolerable though (MC is kind of a badass). I voted one because I fruitdealer was so epic. I stood up every night to watch that guy play, I crossed my fingers every game. Twice I almost died because he was so close to losing, then all of the sudden he pulls wins out of his ass. So many nerd chills.

GSL 2 had kyrix vs foxer which was awesome. Boxer did pretty well and the boxer nada match was godly. Nestea also gets much respect. Over all the games were better in season two but FD made season one for me.

GSL 1 had epic Z winning against all odds finals with some sick macro games. Plus, it was the first GSL so always good.

GSL2 had Foxer's sick marine play. <3

GSL3 not great, but Jinro has made it one to remember.

I think GSL2 had the greatest entertainment factor...

- Boxer vs Nada, just seeing BW legends playing again was awesome
- the rise of Foxer and Kyrix, culminating in their epic bo5 series
- map veto system was in place so we saw a lot of better games (in my opinion)
- exciting finals (even though the games weren't great, it went down to a tense final set)

I guess the overall standard of play has been higher in GSL3, but I think the map lottery and the rise of worker all-ins have turned a lot of people off. GSL2 was the most exciting for me.
Don't hate the player, hate the game

I seemed to base my decision a lot on the final, and GSL1's final was definitely wayyy better than GSL2. GSL3 would've had the potential to be my favorite with an improved foreigner performance, but all the cheesiness combined with no map veto ruined its chances for me =/

I'm surprised GSL2 is in last. I find that one to be the most enjoyable with Kyrix's hyper aggressive Zerg, Boxer vs Nada, first time seeing insane marine micro, Zenio air-bitchslapping Idra, Rainbow not getting eliminated in the Ro64, and not having half as many allins as GSL3.

Am I the only one who enjoys micro battles every game?I think GSL3 is by far better then the others new builds, new all-ins, new players, protoss, wacky games like bunker rushes,4gates on different timing,BitByBitPrime doing all-ins every game and Jinro stomping people...it shows how the game evolves.I hope next season the 3 races to find a good solid macro openings and to make those wacky micro all-in games more special then now.

I loved season 2 for boxer and nada but I'd have to go with FD winning when zerg was pretty underpowered and doing it on LT/kulus etc.

Jinro was really impressive, but the amount of cheese in this season hasn't impressed me at all, FruitDealer in GSL 1 especially with the story behind it with zerg being considered heavily unfavored ZvT and him just coming up and beating every terran he came up against like they were bad was just really really impressive and made for a great and exciting GSL

GSL 2 easily. Fauxer was great, and the series against Kyrix was amazing, probably the best of any series in the GSL.

Also there was BoxeR and NaDa, I don't need to explain why that's awesome.

guys. he SOLD FRUIT TO SUPPORT HIS FAMILY.

how does this not obliterate the other two?

made me so happy when he won. i was meh at best for zbong (more happy foxer lost), and i want mc to win, but dont really care/have any emotional attachment to the guy.

but this is purely GOMs fault. I wish they did more to make me care about the players... cause i really want to.

GSL 2 because of Foxer vs. Kyrix ... that match was just incredible.
GSL 3 also had some good moments, aka Jinro-moments, but overall there were just too many damn all-ins.

GSL 3 finals is rather disinteresting to me. GSL 1 was good because it was the first and the Zerg underdog dominated. GSL 2 was good because someone finally stopped Foxer's mass-marine and frequent all-in-style play.

GSL 3 is one of the best Protoss ever in SC2 versus a fairly mediocre Terran. I'm sorry, but I don't agree that someone who cheesed and all-in'ed such a huge portion of their games should be in the finals. The games he did play straight up all felt unremarkable (and he usually lost), but all too often it was "my cheese / timing attack failed, time to SCV all-in and win." Iron, on the other hand, always played one step ahead of his opponents and even his cheeses were usually accompanied with solid follow-ups.

I'll watch the VoDs, but I won't watch it live.

Can you tell I don't like to watch all-ins multiple times in single sets?

all-in should be the standard if it results in wins the majority of the time.

people who don't do what guarantees the higher chance of wins are just stupid.

I didn't like gsl 3 just because it was 2 rax scv allin, seemingly every game. Although I am very happy to see a protoss in the finals. TvZ is getting a little boring to watch for me. My favorite is season 1 just because I saw Tester play, and showed how well he does against cheese.

I think one thing that everyone can agree on is that, whenever you care about the player and emotions come into play, that's when you truly enjoy watching it.

I still have very fond memories from season 1(lol as if it were a long time ago) because I was pulling really, really hard for fruitdealer. I don't know if most here still remember the metagame back then, but for those who don't, it was an awful time to be a zerg. They were dropping left and right and the last of them came THIS close from being eliminated by oGsTOP in the round of 16. ROUND OF 16!!!

After an epic comeback in a decisive game 3 against all odds(in kulas ravine no less) fruitdealer stood alone as the only zerg representative among the final 8. No one really gave him a chance to win it all, but game after game he proved them wrong.

Many people are saying that the level of play in GSL season 1 was subpar compared to the other 2. Maybe they are right, but in my eyes, fruitdealer's every game was an amazingly exciting nailbiter. I suffered with every drone fried by hellions, every shot a cloacked banshee got off, every overlord picked off, and cheered with every baneling splash and every time I saw an ultralisk. When you are that into a game, suddenly the level of play doesn't matter anymore. I remember my heart skipping a beat when I heard nydus worm scream in game 3 of the finals, and thinking nothing but OMGOMGOMG and next thing I know, the live report thread was full of people dismissing the game as "huge blunder by ITR". I could not believe they were watching the same game as I was.

Long story short: nothing beats an underdog story. GSL 1 for me!

FruitDealer just because he won by an absolute mile, I still support him and want him to win in future.

That win was the first proper SC2 tournament I've watched and it was amazing, I think it helped inspire Zerg players who (myself included) were whining about imbalance. Even if there are foreigners at the GSL I still support the Fruit!

I think GSL2 has been the average coolest so far because that was the first one that Boxer, NaDa, et al. got into and it just had a bunch of hype. But in terms of an individual player's run, it would be Fruitdealer S1 with Jinro/MC S3 runner-up.

Just happy to finally see a Toss in the Final. And a good chance a Toss to take a GSL too! woo

GO GO MIN-CHUL FIGHTING! *-*

I mean its funny that while the west cry about how "op" terran are, they have yet to win in the GSL XD (granted a terran have always made it to the final)

Especially when Fruitdealer won with the then "gimped" zerg \o/

Jinro getting to the round of 4 made GSL3 the best for me. also TOSS IN FINAL! Woooooooo

FruitDealer destroying all the imba terrans with the underpowered race. It was almost an all-terran Ro8 and Ro4! And of course the bananalisk gets a lot of points from me.

Actually I'm surprised about how many people are for GSL3 when there was so much all-in and cheese.

Voted for S2. The best games and the best atmosphere. Season 3 has been somewhat vague and even tho I like MCs and his plays, finals are the worst of the three seasons.

GSL 1 the best. GSL 3 the worst because of all the all in Terran marine rush bs that is now so popular vs Z.

Between Season 1 and Season 2's winner I have to say that Fruitdealer as the most "inspiring", really showed us some high-level play (damn you tastosis). Between actual worth of game season 2 is by far the best (since they had the good map voting option).

GSL3 because of TLO's awesome games. And of course because of BoxeR and NaDa.

GSL 1 was a little hectic but the games were fun to watch. GSL 2 saw Foxer beat FruitDealer, which changed the entire baneling v. marine game, and also had Nada v. Boxer. GSL3 had Jinro go deep, but it suffered from a lack of TLO.

GSL2 wins. Boxer v Nada, some Foxer, and a little TLO.

Loved GSL2, when Foxer's style was still new. Now it is old and he seemed to stubborn.
The game Foxer vs Kyrix set 5 was just ridiculous epic awesome and the series was the first we got to the insane marine micro. So GSL2 for me overall.

I loved though how Jinro got superfar in 3.

The finals Fruitdealer vs Intotherainbow was amazing...I thought GSL 2 besides Marineking play was kind of boring....It wasn't better then the GSL 1...GSL 3 the match that sticks out for me is Clide vs Leenock which was great...I have to say I think GSL 1 is the best. Skill wise is hard to tell it seems like it is getting bigger and bigger but then watch Nestea lose over and over to the same thing is just funny. Fruitdealer playing terrible against Hongunprime it was just weird.

Skillwise GSL2 was the best for TvZ, and TvT, because there weren't any good Protoss games in S2 that I can remember.
GSL1 wasn't the best for anything skillwise, but it had Tester's epic anti-cheese play and FruitDealer.
GSL3 had the best Protoss play (which is my preferred race) but TvZ got boring.

I voted S3 but now I think more about S2 lol.

I vote GLS2 because it was the season I was enlighted to the micro brilliance of Foxer. Even though, he is on the cheesy side, he is the only player who does it and still makes it interesting.

His match against kyrix was just awesome. The final was meh cause I think Nestea is too standard. Sure he was more robust and safe and made good decision like Artosis said but it made it less fun imo.

SlayerSBoxeR against Nada was also awesome.

Loved Jinro in season 3 but seeing all those terran marine rush diluted the strat because they were not the creator and all copied Foxer without the incredible micro.

Season 1, can't comment realy because I wasn't aware of GSL back then and didnt have the time to watch it completely, only the final. Fruitdealer was great but I can't vote only on the small part I have seen.

GSL2's finals were the best (so far)

Season 3 is about Terrans grabbing everything they have an attacking the zergs. So dull.

Season 1 also had a terribad roster of players who somehow made it on. Plus GSL1's finals was a one sided rape, where Rainbow bent over and took it. Took it hard.

Season 2 had an awesome/intense finals and the games were good enough that it outclassed all the other seasons.

GSL 1 def. It was the grand opening and a man at a huge disadvantage shows that good players will win the GSL. GSL 2 and 3...It seems just like a lot of terrans 2 raxing against 14 hatching zergs. That was even all but one of the final games. But I have to admit, I was on the edge of my seat during GSL 2 finals.

Unfortunately towards GSL 3 finals i dont have much hype at all, not even sure if i'll watch it live. It seems that GSL 1 and 2 finals were discussed so much more and people looked foward to them. I guess we have to blame rain.

Forgot to mention, the players did not exactly get the best maps at all. It seems like instead of some players losing to other players those players lost to the maps.

Overall GSL season 2 has been the best, but GSL season 1 was AWESOME. FruitDealer managed to grab the win against all odds, when people thought Zerg was underpowered, when there was 3 Terran and 1 Zerg in the Top 4.

I'm torn between GSL2 and 3. GSL3 has come a long way to a point where most games in in RO64 were genuinely good (I remember only JSLZenith vs sSKS as a good series from s1, and there was a lot of lackluster play even in RO16).

However, this time there has been quite a lot of wins that feel undeserved: I feel Clide and JSL for example are at least as strong as Rain, who is in the finals. Maybe even players like TOP, Ensnare and Loner who didn't even qualify. I'm fine with upsets, but I feel too many players have gone much further than they deserved, and too many players that should have didn't qualify or lost in early rounds.

Likewise, many players who don't seem to want to face each other have met (Fruitdealer vs HongUn), and unenjoyable-to-watch 2-racks play has been so strong that it seems foolish not to exploit it (and many players have).

I guess S2 has had the best balance between high level play, bracket luck and entertaining games. I really wish S3 would have been at least slightly better in regards of those two later points, otherwise it would have been a clear choice.

GSL 1 had the best story. Fruitdealer's games were so good. The epic finals, oGsTop match and many more. Amazing. Also Tester was really impressive, until he threw away the match vs ITR.

GSL2 was kinda meh, Didn't see any outstanding games. The finals however showed some excellent defense by Nestea.

GSL3 had some ups and downs. All the 2 rax is sooo boring to watch. Clide vs Leenock was very good, Jinro ofcourse and oGsMC. Was really surprised by FD's play, he played absolutely awful.

I voted for GSL1, just because of Fruitdealer.

Season 3 was soooo hard to get invested in, even though there were good players in there and probably more evolved play... it was too much knowing that the next set would be another terran 2-rax rushing to his demise (well, expect for Rain and BBB).

Season two definitely had the most solid play overall, but the finals were so boring because Nestea vs Foxer was 100% predictable (although Nestea took a while to wake up during the first 2 games).

Season 1.... fruitdealer made me want to cry with the storyline and the inventiveness of his gameplay, not to mention the razor's edge that every game seemed to hang on. Just remember that he was my hero zerg from the round of 16 onward after he had.... FIFTEEN ULTRALISKS! I stayed up for every game of his and watched the finals (minor disappointment in Rainbow), but the huge macro games of Terran vs Fruitdealer were worlds beyond everything but the Clive Leenock game of Season 3.

So Season 1, I think I'll go watch FD take the round of 16 again.

It's really hard to pick, I think most people chose FD just because it was FD, but:

Best Finals/Winner: FD
Best Series/Matches: Season 2 (MK/Kyrix, Boxer/Nada, some insane Nestea holds)
Best Story: Season 3 (Jinro..)

JINRO. Season 3 by a mile. It's hard not to care more about such a great guy. I mean, watching Fruitdealer win is cool, but I didn't really care about him before he won.

If it weren't for Jinro making it to the RO4, along with a bunch of other Liquid` members participating, GSL3 would be the worst of all.

I'm still going with the FD win in GSL1 though <3

GSL 1.
- I had someone to really cheer for, FD fighting from behind, coming back from harass and playing crazy well.
- Less cheese. Jesus, I understand that the game is designed with Cheese, but I'd love to see some long macro games again...

GSL2 was my fav, lots of really fun and entertaining matches.
GSL3 was overall disappointing because of the marine/scv all-ins... that's not fun.

GSL 2 by far, GSL 1 was nice and first, but to many labile builds, rushed decitions/mistakes and cheeses.
GSL 3 is even more all ins and cheeses, but Jinro made it great.

However GSL 2 was just the better blend of people learning solid builds and players not having figured out how to all in/cheese through said builds.

Yes. The fact that Jinro went so far in the GSL really made the GSL 3 the best for me.
Also, I liked seeing Ret play, and the fact that July played pretty well helped some more.

Also, I would like to add that the quality of the games feels like it's improving. GSL 1 didn't really feel like pro strarcraft, tbh. It had quite a big number of mistakes and felt like the type of game you could see in broodwar in a collegiate league championship. People are just starting to have tight play, and this makes me excited for the next GSLs; I can't wait to see if starcraft 2 will ever get to the point were it's as interesting to watch as a broodwar match.

i voted GSL1 cause of FD. he was jsut really creative and pulled wins out from god knows where!(even though most of you will argue its cause of terrans' screwups but still!) furthermore, i loved the FRUIT JOKES from tastosis.. BANANA GRIN much?

gsl 2 was good too... for the epic plays. and the map veto system made it fair and it was just much higher lvl of play.

gsl 3. too many all ins imo.. and the map system is ridiculous. but unlike everyone, i think clide vs leenock takes 2nd spot for best series.. i thought FD and BBB was the best series cause we saw epic worker wars =X..

GSL1 was great because fruit dealer was on such a different level from most players. Don't know if this will happen again, since everyone will only improve and strategies will be figured out and countered.

It was tough between GSL1 for FruitDealer and GSL3 for Jinro, but I have to go with Jinro's insane success in GSL3. Seeing him in that booth again and again every week was awesome, and I've never cheered louder than during his matches. Also of course this season held the huge amount of TL players getting in, and Ret's great early round domination.

I enjoyed season 2 the most, Season 1 the least by far, I'm surprised the poll shows the opposite.

The results are exactly what I was expecting, tbh. First GSL had novelty on its side plus the imba Terran vs the powerless Z (and the baller name of Fruitdealer). Second GSL was "can a lossless zerg beat someone who uses only marines?"). Third is what? A protoss who, while good, doesn't have much drawing fans in vs a Terran who has all-in'd a lot with many people angry about him even being in the finals. Plus, it hasn't even happened yet. Maybe you get the 7 sickest games ever in SC2, but the poll timing being before GSL S3 means you can't factor that in.

The other problem you have is an unclear poll: by listing the finals winners for each GSL and no accompanying text you split the voters between which GSL was better overall with which finals was better.

hard to say, GSL 1 because fruitdealer won when terran was stupidly strong... However the skill level in GSL 3 is way higher.. But All-ins galore :S... Guess i'll go with season 1.

GSl 3 was worst IMO, wich is sad since so many foreigners got in. It's just too bad every tvz (coolest matchup IMO) was just terrans 2 raxing... The leenock vs clide matchup was amazing though.

As far as exitment goes GSL 1, as far as games go GSL 2

Season 1 imo. Because despite enormous disadvantages, one zergie pulled the win out of his ass. Season 3 is thus far the worst one due to the new idiotic map system and a sudden increase of cheesy all-in terrans. Season 2 was awesome, objectively the best one, but fruitdealer man. Fruitdealer.

GSL 1 just because I loved the story behind FD and the video after he won was so sick. The only macro terran it seems, Jinro to semis is huge and Zerg bong fan fighting but really enjoyed the first as there will never be another like it I believe with such a storyline of a player.

Season 1, because Fruitdealer had to deal with pre-nerf Terran with pre-buff Zerg.

Also, because he proved that skill can overcome balance, even against the best of the best Terran at the time.

Season 1 was by far the best. It had the novelty factor, strats I've never seen before [low ground cannon rush on meta. wtf!], tester holding when he really shouldn't have been able to [2 gate proxy against his 1 gate on meta], and a Zerg winning it all when Zerg was arguably the weakest race at the time. Season 2 was interesting simply because of marine spread micro I've never seen before, and Season 3 was by far the worst because of all the 2-4 rax bs all-ins.

GSL 1 was bad. Seems like most people have already this "earlier all was better"-mindset
GSL 2 was pretty good.
GSL 3 the best so far from the skill etc, but not as entertaining to watch than #2

I thought that GSL2 was the best because of Boxer and Nada playing each other for the first time in SC2 and there was a lot of build-up for that match-up. Also the rise of Foxer and Nestea was great to spectate and the finals was way closer and exciting compared to the lopsided Fruitdealer crushing.

GSL3 has some good things going for it like Jinro in the semi-finals which is just awesome and finally a protoss player in the finals. I was disappointed though that July didn't get his S class and too many games are just all-ins or cheese, also the new map system where you can't veto sucks.

u could clearly see how much the game evolved between season 1 and 2. following the same pattern, u could clearly see the game evolving further by the awesome macro games in season 3. the problem though is that season 3 has seen a huge increase in retarded bullshit all-in strategies which make for horrible games. therefore, my vote goes to season 2.

gsl was a dissapoint aside from Jinro and gsl2 was epic in its own way but i have to say gsl 1 was crazy because of how new it was and how crazy fruitdealer's story was as the underdog zerg

I love Jinro and July but the map system for GSL3 is broken. So i vote for the clear sweep of nestea till the final.

Season 2 finals were horrible, Foxer trying to cheese and allin and whatnot and failing. Foxer got boring pretty fast.

Season 3 wins because JINRO.

JINRO. What he did is beyond pretty much anything. Idra's small time compared to how solid this guy is.

Was stuck between GSL1 & GSL3. Fruitdealer made Zergs possible and showed that it wasn't as bad as it was.

GSL3 has a non-zerg final (Which I'm kind of happy for.) and has Jinro who made it very far for a foreigner making such an exciting scene.

But I voted for GSL1, because GSL3 overall wasn't too exciting to me. Maybe the final will prove me wrong, but I think GSL1 makes the best for me so far.

GSL2 because the introduction of how marines > banelings. I was geeking out at all of the Foxer plays throughout the entire GSL. Also, how could you not be excited to see nestea winning the whole thing with the story of his background?!

i like sc2 more than wc3 because of its mind games , in wc3 the only mind game you could do is go for a different hero than normal to make your opponent thing you are retarded

Season 1 was awesome with all the FD stuff, and even his 6pool to Inca was awesome.
Season 2 was awesome with Cheese being defeated (plus Nada vs Boxer).
Season 3 was awesome until the Cheese started to win (FD vs Nestea being denied).

Nestea was more dominant in his GSL (xcept the final) than FD... but all the FD storyline and worldwideZergs OMGing every match wins for me.

I would say GSL #3 due to Jinro raping up to Ro4, but GSL #1 overall, not counting personal favorite players, was a bit better. The matches were significantly better than GSL 3's set of matches. Much amounts of cheese in 3. Jinro is like the only one who played a real macro style game =/.

So GSL #1
But I still like Jinro.

I can't vote until I see the finals of GSL 3, but I'd probably say GSL 3 was the best in terms of highest level play, and GSL 2 was the best in terms of the coolest strategies.

GSL 3 easily. The level of play in GSL 1 was not very high level besides fruitdealer. GSL 2 was pretty interesting, but GSL 3 was interesting AND it had awesome foreigner contribution as well. Cheesy? yes, but in the end I just know that we will have a protoss victor! MSEEEEEEEEEEE

GSL 1: Fruitdealer playing what seemed to be a fairy tale story with many claiming zerg was an underpowered race and Fruitdealer himself overcoming the adversity to claim GSL Season 1 champion title.

GSL 2: Nestea in essence doing the same thing as Fruitdealer in season 1, though highly down played due to the facts zerg received buffs (ex. roach range increase) and Fruitdealer had just just flexed the zerg's muscle a couple months prior. Major storyline of the tourney Boxer and Nada performing well and meeting head-to-head.

GSL 3: No map veto. What seemed to be a lackluster of exciting good games (in my opinion). Although, more foreigners in this GSL and Jinro performing well definitely caught my attention. Also a new race as the GSL Champion. (Gogo MC!!)

-- My simple and personal feelings towards the GSL's. GSL 1 has my vote since the tourney went rather well, it made me more interested in GOM's future tournaments.

I dont know if anyone read the question it is best GSL not "GSL with best winner". Omg it was season 2 for sure games were so close lots of 2-1 and 3-2 and 4-3 final. Some ppl dont like marineking style maybe because he cheese. But Marineking changed the way how terran is played his style made a big difference all over the world "how to play terran". And yet i see min votes for GSL 2 I think everyone is voting for the champions of the tournaments not the tournament itself :D

GSL 1
I think the Fruit Dealer tribute video has a lot to do with it. It catches the essence of what Zerg was struggling with and how one Zerg overcame those struggles.

Now that the GSL3 is actually finnished, it is possible to choose correctly.
I stick to my choice, GSL 3 as the best GSL. The finals were great imo and especially game 2 showed some really interesting play by both players

season 2 and 3 are the best

Season 2 because of SlayerSBoxeR and Nada. And ofcourse the underdog that just came and pwned all fan favourites, FOXER !!!!!

Season 3....Jinro.................thats all i have to say about it.

Probably GSL2 or 1. In terms of quality and awesomeness both were better than 3. Only reason 3 is even close to respectable is because of Jinro's performance. Props to him.

They have all been great for various reasons.
1. The biggest sc2 tournament ever, rise of the zerg.
2. Boxer and Nada fwaighting
3. Jinro

I would say season one because it had me the most excited for everything and even though it had the worst play it was the first time I had seen that high level of play. It is hard to say which has been the best because they have all been amazing for different reasons.

As much as Jinro made us all "awww yeah," the finals of GSL 3 was quite lack-luster. Unfortunately, I havent seen GSL 1 final, so my vote will have to go to Nestea and Foxers amazing back and forth battle in the final.

That's a tough one.

I was really excited with the GSL1 turnout. The community still talked about TvZ like it was impossible for the Zerg player, and Fruitdealer pulled it out big time surprising a lot of people. Then, of course, GSL2 went to the ace match. We got to see NesTea figure out his two-rax defense before our very eyes. That was pretty fantastic.

S3 at first seemed like it'd be the most awesome season, partially since knowledge about scene had raised and it seemed I knew most of the players beforehand. However most of the inspiring players seemed to drop one by one too early, leaving pretty dull or less good players to last rounds (BO5+).

Thus season2 was probably the best, it wasn't as cheesy as s3 but it maybe had a bit higher skill level than s1. Most importantly it had better games towards the end (ro8->) than season3.

I don't understand why someone would pick GSL1 because of the finals. It was onesided as hell, I mean games were awesome cos I love to see cool playstyles which fruit showed, but imo foxer v nestea produced more entertaining series. Cheesy sure, but it felt even and you never knew who'd win.

There were plenty of cool sets in GSL1 iirc, finals just weren't among top5 sets imo

I loved Jinro getting to the semi finals and MC winning it all, so it must be GSL3.

Who would have thought a Protoss playing that well throughout GSL3. I think MC did for Protoss what FruitDealer did for Zerg in GSL1.

What I love about GSL (except for GSL2) is how a none-favourite race player manages to pull some different and solid games out of the hat and win it all.

GSL 1 was not that great overall, and fruitdealer succeeded because his opponent(s) did bad in the final(s).

GSL 2 and GSL 2 finals were my favorite.

season 3 was the best. It showed that protoss was not imbalanced early game and it showed how powerful their all ins/1base plays and cheeses were. And it was already obvious how good their late game was

Im confused both by Rain is mentioned in the MC win season. And also how FD / MC is winning this by a significant margin. I mean yea, ok FD had his epic win, thats something. But aside from Jinro, the s3 finals were a joke, MC cakewalked his way to victory. Not taking away from MCs skill, just that his opponents were not of his caliber at all.

Nestea will be my favorite of the 3 so far, if nothign else but because of his story, and overcoming all the things that are supposedly "against" pro-gamers (bad history/age/etc). It was a great and solid win imo.

yep GSL2 was the best GSL. Marinekingprime had really some EPIC matches against FD and Kyrix.
Also the games of Boxer and Nada were extremly entertaining. group4 TvZ action was fun to watch... I don't know... GSL3 sucked so far. Too many all-ins from each race...

Too many all-ins from "Each" race?

The number of all-ins from zerg were less than 10%...
