I don't care much for the finals of season 3. MC should win 7-0 (some of his wins will count double).

Which sucks, because with a lot of foreigners getting in, with two personal favorites ret/IdrA, and Jinro getting so far I feel it should easily have been my favorite. t.t

The finals of GSL 1 was awesome...and because it was the first one the excitement was kinda big and new. GSL 2 had the best games overall I'd say, Kyrix vs Foxer and NesTea/NaDa solidity comes to mind. GSL 3 was very interesting with a lot of foreign success and Protosses doing good and cool builds. A lot of craziness with all-in going on as well. Man... Well I'll have to pick GSL 3. For HongUn carriers, Jinro Success and Leenock vs Clide epicness.

Just my 2 cents, I think GSL season 3 was the most cheesy, but at the same time we saw some of the best play and the most refined strategies, so yeah... that's my choice already!

GSL 1 > > > GSL 2 >= GSL 3 GSL 1 - In its own nerdy way, Fruitdealer's march to victory was heroic. At the time: all zerg had been eliminated by the ro8, zerg was considered way underpowered, Fruit was doubting zerg himself, the map pool was terrible for him, Intotherainbow was a strong favorite to win, and he was but a fruit merchant. Against all that, Fruit curbstomped the shit out of ItR and claimed his prize. - Tester. The cheese deflecter - TLO vs Hyperdub game 1 was fantastic - Davit - Inca played some good pvp games - Cliiiiide - Maru vs Cella upset GSL 2 - Didn't really care for the finals. I was glad nestea won, but they just weren't very exciting. The games were too low tech. - Kyrix vs Ensnare was good - Boxer vs Nada was epic - Foxer vs Kyrix was even more epic - best music (Hoffmaestro <3) - Hated that TLO got knocked out early - "How do you deal with a protoss who tries to slip his cannon in your backside" - John's speech GSL 3 - Clide vs Leenock is easily the best series to date. Every game could have gone either way and the one of them went far into the late game. - Strongest foreigner showing yet. Jinro was awesome. - No map veto is stupid - Tastetosis is on fire this season with the jokes. I salute Artosis' knowledge of guinea pigs and pokemon. - Sadly, most of the matches have been terrible. There is too much all-in. - We'll likely see the shortest finals ever. I expect a landslide win for MC.

In terms of storylines, maybe GSL 1 has the edge, but in terms of watch-ability, it's #3 by a massive margin. this. seriously, i don't get what's up with everyone hating on this season coz it's been full early game rushes then praising season 2 which was only notable for foxer - who, uhm, kinda invented the marine rush we got this whole season -, kyrix, who was extremely aggressive but not that good, and for a champion who had amazingly solid play but it was hardcore on the defensive side, and when it comes down to comparing to other topnotch players, can only be characterized as idra put it "he's good but not as good as everyone thinks"; he only looked that godly by comparison to the season's lineup ofc, there were nada and boxer -omg, that was epic indeed- , but let's be honest, neither played extremely well; sure they were fun and played a few amazing sets, and they were boxer and nada, and boxer was crying in joy and shit and he's frigging awesome in general, but so far neither of them even came close to the level of play mc and jinro or july showed this season (they actually couldn't even keep up with the pack for this season, nada didn't even qualify while training with ogs-tl of all teams, and boxer was superweak) as for season 1, there were a few strong players like tester and fd, but the level of play was so low compared to the third season that it can't even count (anyone remember nestea's creep spread in s1. ? lol. -and that level of play was the norm then, not the exception), except for names such as the above mentioned which were miles ahead everyone else on the skill curve at that point to just put it in short - to get your mind off the fact that there were indeed many players in this season who didn't deserve to even qualify let alone win some matches (hi overhypemvp, bitbybit) - just compare 1. level of overall play - s.3 was seas apart from the first 2, hands down 2. memorable matches (gosu solid play, not entertaining bling busts/marine rushes of s.2 or weird 6pools on kulas and such of s.1) clide-leenock, mc-july stand out as providing the few possibly best games ever played in any sc2 tourney thus far, and they weren't freak occurences, there was plenty of rock solid play to be had all around this season, starting ro64/ro32 as opposed to the previous seasons getting interesting from the ro16 up - though people seem to think 1 or 2 base play ending matches rather early (~10-15 min. marker) somehow means extended cheese or less skilled play - what ? (ofc, talking outside of marine/scv and weak allins on the first or second attack - by any race, since all 3 did them) 3. jinro and mc - gsl 3 had them. thank you gsl 3 with all your casts, interviews and additional video footage via tl, gomtv or wherever it's why i voted s.3, i think enormities such as "s.3 sucked so much, too much allins" are a disgrace to the best tourney in sc2 thus far ps: i would vote season 2 if the poll was entitled "Most entertaining GSL so far" , i think s.2 was a more entertaining and possibly diverse season (let's remember we saw some pretty original and strangely solid builds/rushes s.3 as well), but definitely not better -in regards to the players' skills sets-, or more fan inspiring -for foreigner and MC (heh)supporters-

- Boxer vs Nada, just seeing BW legends playing again was awesome - the rise of Foxer and Kyrix, culminating in their epic bo5 series - map veto system was in place so we saw a lot of better games (in my opinion) - exciting finals (even though the games weren't great, it went down to a tense final set) I guess the overall standard of play has been higher in GSL3, but I think the map lottery and the rise of worker all-ins have turned a lot of people off. GSL2 was the most exciting for me.

how does this not obliterate the other two? made me so happy when he won. i was meh at best for zbong (more happy foxer lost), and i want mc to win, but dont really care/have any emotional attachment to the guy. but this is purely GOMs fault. GSL 3 is one of the best Protoss ever in SC2 versus a fairly mediocre Terran. I'm sorry, but I don't agree that someone who cheesed and all-in'ed such a huge portion of their games should be in the finals. The games he did play straight up all felt unremarkable (and he usually lost), but all too often it was "my cheese / timing attack failed, time to SCV all-in and win." Iron, on the other hand, always played one step ahead of his opponents and even his cheeses were usually accompanied with solid follow-ups. I'll watch the VoDs, but I won't watch it live. + Show Spoiler + Can you tell I don't like to watch all-ins multiple times in single sets?

I still have very fond memories from season 1(lol as if it were a long time ago) because I was pulling really, really hard for fruitdealer. I don't know if most here still remember the metagame back then, but for those who don't, it was an awful time to be a zerg. They were dropping left and right and the last of them came THIS close from being eliminated by oGsTOP in the round of 16. ROUND OF 16!!! After an epic comeback in a decisive game 3 against all odds(in kulas ravine no less) fruitdealer stood alone as the only zerg representative among the final 8. No one really gave him a chance to win it all, but game after game he proved them wrong. Many people are saying that the level of play in GSL season 1 was subpar compared to the other 2. Maybe they are right, but in my eyes, fruitdealer's every game was an amazingly exciting nailbiter. I suffered with every drone fried by hellions, every shot a cloacked banshee got off, every overlord picked off, and cheered with every baneling splash and every time I saw an ultralisk. When you are that into a game, suddenly the level of play doesn't matter anymore. I remember my heart skipping a beat when I heard nydus worm scream in game 3 of the finals, and thinking nothing but OMGOMGOMG and next thing I know, the live report thread was full of people dismissing the game as "huge blunder by ITR". I could not believe they were watching the same game as I was. Long story short: nothing beats an underdog story. GSL 1 for me!

GSL1 wasn't the best for anything skillwise, but it had Tester's epic anti-cheese play and FruitDealer. GSL3 had the best Protoss play (which is my preferred race) but TvZ got boring. I voted S3 but now I think more about S2 lol.

His match against kyrix was just awesome. The final was meh cause I think Nestea is too standard. Sure he was more robust and safe and made good decision like Artosis said but it made it less fun imo. SlayerSBoxeR against Nada was also awesome. Loved Jinro in season 3 but seeing all those terran marine rush diluted the strat because they were not the creator and all copied Foxer without the incredible micro. Season 1, can't comment realy because I wasn't aware of GSL back then and didnt have the time to watch it completely, only the final. Fruitdealer was great but I can't vote only on the small part I have seen.

Season 3 is about Terrans grabbing everything they have an attacking the zergs. So dull. Season 1 also had a terribad roster of players who somehow made it on. Plus GSL1's finals was a one sided rape, where Rainbow bent over and took it. Took it hard. Season 2 had an awesome/intense finals and the games were good enough that it outclassed all the other seasons.

Unfortunately towards GSL 3 finals i dont have much hype at all, not even sure if i'll watch it live. It seems that GSL 1 and 2 finals were discussed so much more and people looked foward to them. I guess we have to blame rain. Forgot to mention, the players did not exactly get the best maps at all. It seems like instead of some players losing to other players those players lost to the maps.

However, this time there has been quite a lot of wins that feel undeserved: I feel Clide and JSL for example are at least as strong as Rain, who is in the finals. Maybe even players like TOP, Ensnare and Loner who didn't even qualify. I'm fine with upsets, but I feel too many players have gone much further than they deserved, and too many players that should have didn't qualify or lost in early rounds. Likewise, many players who don't seem to want to face each other have met (Fruitdealer vs HongUn), and unenjoyable-to-watch 2-racks play has been so strong that it seems foolish not to exploit it (and many players have). I guess S2 has had the best balance between high level play, bracket luck and entertaining games. I really wish S3 would have been at least slightly better in regards of those two later points, otherwise it would have been a clear choice.

GSL2 was kinda meh, Didn't see any outstanding games. The finals however showed some excellent defense by Nestea. GSL3 had some ups and downs. All the 2 rax is sooo boring to watch. Clide vs Leenock was very good, Jinro ofcourse and oGsMC. Was really surprised by FD's play, he played absolutely awful. I voted for GSL1, just because of Fruitdealer.

Season two definitely had the most solid play overall, but the finals were so boring because Nestea vs Foxer was 100% predictable (although Nestea took a while to wake up during the first 2 games). Season 1.... fruitdealer made me want to cry with the storyline and the inventiveness of his gameplay, not to mention the razor's edge that every game seemed to hang on. Just remember that he was my hero zerg from the round of 16 onward after he had.... FIFTEEN ULTRALISKS! I stayed up for every game of his and watched the finals (minor disappointment in Rainbow), but the huge macro games of Terran vs Fruitdealer were worlds beyond everything but the Clive Leenock game of Season 3. So Season 1, I think I'll go watch FD take the round of 16 again.

Also, I liked seeing Ret play, and the fact that July played pretty well helped some more. Also, I would like to add that the quality of the games feels like it's improving. GSL 1 didn't really feel like pro strarcraft, tbh. It had quite a big number of mistakes and felt like the type of game you could see in broodwar in a collegiate league championship. People are just starting to have tight play, and this makes me excited for the next GSLs; I can't wait to see if starcraft 2 will ever get to the point were it's as interesting to watch as a broodwar match.

gsl 2 was good too... for the epic plays. and the map veto system made it fair and it was just much higher lvl of play. gsl 3. too many all ins imo.. and the map system is ridiculous. but unlike everyone, i think clide vs leenock takes 2nd spot for best series.. i thought FD and BBB was the best series cause we saw epic worker wars =X..

First GSL had novelty on its side plus the imba Terran vs the powerless Z (and the baller name of Fruitdealer). Second GSL was "can a lossless zerg beat someone who uses only marines?"). Third is what? A protoss who, while good, doesn't have much drawing fans in vs a Terran who has all-in'd a lot with many people angry about him even being in the finals. Plus, it hasn't even happened yet. Maybe you get the 7 sickest games ever in SC2, but the poll timing being before GSL S3 means you can't factor that in. The other problem you have is an unclear poll: by listing the finals winners for each GSL and no accompanying text you split the voters between which GSL was better overall with which finals was better.

Also, because he proved that skill can overcome balance, even against the best of the best Terran at the time.

GSL3 has some good things going for it like Jinro in the semi-finals which is just awesome and finally a protoss player in the finals. I was disappointed though that July didn't get his S class and too many games are just all-ins or cheese, also the new map system where you can't veto sucks.

Season 3 wins because JINRO. JINRO. What he did is beyond pretty much anything. Idra's small time compared to how solid this guy is.

GSL3 has a non-zerg final (Which I'm kind of happy for.) and has Jinro who made it very far for a foreigner making such an exciting scene. But I voted for GSL1, because GSL3 overall wasn't too exciting to me. Maybe the final will prove me wrong, but I think GSL1 makes the best for me so far.

Season 2 was awesome with Cheese being defeated (plus Nada vs Boxer). Season 3 was awesome until the Cheese started to win (FD vs Nestea being denied). Nestea was more dominant in his GSL (xcept the final) than FD... but all the FD storyline and worldwideZergs OMGing every match wins for me.

GSL 2: Nestea in essence doing the same thing as Fruitdealer in season 1, though highly down played due to the facts zerg received buffs (ex. roach range increase) and Fruitdealer had just just flexed the zerg's muscle a couple months prior. Major storyline of the tourney Boxer and Nada performing well and meeting head-to-head. GSL 3: No map veto. What seemed to be a lackluster of exciting good games (in my opinion). Although, more foreigners in this GSL and Jinro performing well definitely caught my attention. Also a new race as the GSL Champion. (Gogo MC!!) -- My simple and personal feelings towards the GSL's. GSL 1 has my vote since the tourney went rather well, it made me more interested in GOM's future tournaments.

I think the Fruit Dealer tribute video has a lot to do with it. It catches the essence of what Zerg was struggling with and how one Zerg overcame those struggles. T.T so touching...

I stick to my choice, GSL 3 as the best GSL. The finals were great imo and especially game 2 showed some really interesting play by both players

1. The biggest sc2 tournament ever, rise of the zerg. 2. Boxer and Nada fwaighting 3. Jinro I would say season one because it had me the most excited for everything and even though it had the worst play it was the first time I had seen that high level of play. It is hard to say which has been the best because they have all been amazing for different reasons.

I was really excited with the GSL1 turnout. The community still talked about TvZ like it was impossible for the Zerg player, and Fruitdealer pulled it out big time surprising a lot of people. Then, of course, GSL2 went to the ace match. We got to see NesTea figure out his two-rax defense before our very eyes. That was pretty fantastic.

Thus season2 was probably the best, it wasn't as cheesy as s3 but it maybe had a bit higher skill level than s1. Most importantly it had better games towards the end (ro8->) than season3.

OMFG NERDGASM moments with Boxer vs Nada I don't understand why someone would pick GSL1 because of the finals. It was onesided as hell, I mean games were awesome cos I love to see cool playstyles which fruit showed, but imo foxer v nestea produced more entertaining series. Cheesy sure, but it felt even and you never knew who'd win. There were plenty of cool sets in GSL1 iirc, finals just weren't among top5 sets imo

Who would have thought a Protoss playing that well throughout GSL3. I think MC did for Protoss what FruitDealer did for Zerg in GSL1. What I love about GSL (except for GSL2) is how a none-favourite race player manages to pull some different and solid games out of the hat and win it all.

Nestea will be my favorite of the 3 so far, if nothign else but because of his story, and overcoming all the things that are supposedly "against" pro-gamers (bad history/age/etc). It was a great and solid win imo.
