So its currently into the 4th month of my deployment and I've been in Kuwait for almost a month now. I left Fort McCoy WI on November 15th, for a 3 hour flight to Bangor ME. Stopped to refuel and stretch our legs for an hour and a half where i got to stop and talk on cell phone back home. Then it was a 6 hour flight to Leipzig(?) Germany. I did not sleep a wink on that flight.. T_T Anyways got to do the same thing there stretch our legs, refuel, get something to eat/drink if we wanted to. I took a picture of the different mt dew with it in German writing but it somehow got deleted :/.

Side note - I happen to go into the latrine at the airport and there was a vending machine in there was well. But no, not for food, instead it had.. a .. "pocket pussy" for .50 euros.. (i didnt even have any euros so i couldnt get one even if i wanted to)
Anyways after we stretched and refueled, it was one more 5 hour flight to Kuwait City, Kuwait. Where we finally stepped off after a 8 hour time jump, 1600ish. Then one last time to stretch our legs and one last trip by bus for 2 hours to Camp Buehring, Kuwait where I am now.
So thats the summary of the flight over here now for the past few weeks, whats been happening?
Well before i begin that you must understand this part first. When a national guard unit comes into a replace another one theres a process called "Riptoa" (or rip for short) in which one unit shadows the other and then vise versa towards the end of it. It's the process i'm still in till later this month. The rip process is pretty long and very annoying because you get very little time for youself. In fact by taking the time to write this and stuff i'm losing precious time to sleep! But I love TL and i've delayed this long enough!
Week 1 - first few days we slept.. period. relaxation days. get into our sleep schedule pretty much, which for most people is 9am to whatever time at night. But for me and the rest of our room, since we did the best job in Ft. McCoy we get the Night Shift or.. rather the real shift, in which everything goes down, can't say what though .. So our shift is 9pm to 9am. After those first few days we start our jobs shadowing the other guys learning our jobs, can't really say much about it, but we learn pretty fast, and a week flies by really.
Week 2 - Same thing as week one, besides the relaxation days. Also we went to the range, to zero our m4's and I went again for M240B / 50Cal Familiarization on top of Caimans(big ass up-armored truck, picture below) so that was week 2.
Week 3 - I get pulled to go to work in a section lower then i'm working now because the lower section is undermaned and they need someone qualified and competent in their skills in my field of work to work there. So i've been there working for the past few days.
Thats pretty much it, its been work/sleep/work/sleep repeat. Work for 12 hours, sleep for a good 8-9. Wake up and do w/e till work again. Usually using my 2 hours after shift to use the internet stay updated with sc2, run tournaments
In which by the way Tour of Duty US#2 on the 9th gogo sign up :D.
But other than using freetime to keep updated on TL i've been trying to squeeze in as much MLG Dallas as i can to watch it even though i know the results. The internet here isn't even strong enough to watch streams . I'm lucky i can watch youtube videos.
We are aloud for 2 hours on shift to go do some weight lifting and what not at the gym so that helps make work/day go by faster.
Well so for extra activities, I've haven't really done anything besides go to a Avenged Sevenfold concert that was a week or so ago, got a lot of video of that but have to send home a flashdrive or something so my girlfriend can upload it for me. The concert was pretty awesome, was my first one as well >.> ... heh.. I play starcraft too much, what can i say..
So for the future plans, I can't wait to go on leave, a date that i will not say at this time because my gf is on TL and she reads this stuff and i want to surprise her on my leave and make her cry ^_^ lol. Other than that just chipping away one day at a time until that day comes.
Oh well, also I can't wait to finish off my ToD series tournaments that Xeris is currently running for me and I might have a couple show matches planned for the future as well, so stay tuned .
One last note - I'm so getting a TL Icon tattooed on me !
And on that last note here are all my current photos from the Middle East.
