++ Part 2 ++
++ Part 3 ++
Hi guys. This will be my last and closing chapter to my korea trip. I'm back home after a 23hours trip and I would lie to you if I said I'm glad to be home haha! But I was lucky having an extra free seat on both flights making it a bit more comfortable. This piece will be very short, I guess.
First of all FUCK YOU american keyboard for switching Y and Z because I had to twist my brain for these two weeks and now it is stuck making me write shit all wrong.
PC Bangs - Thank You DragonDefonce
Since this is a Starcraft forum I want to thank DragonDefonce first and foremost for lending me his SC2 account so I could play. I've met quite a few foreigners who wanted to play but couldn't. Thank you very much for lending it to a complete stranger! It is at a few hundred points in diamond now and I played about 70 games. The korean server felt very different to me. I had the toughest time against Zerg and a surprisingly easier time gainst terran. It was quite interesting to see against who Blizzard would pair me up and how good some non-diamond players are.
At first I switched up PC Bangs every time I could but then stuck with one I felt had the fastest computers and chillest atmosphere, because it sometimes became kind of a russian roulette. With PC Bangs where you would sit on a 1024x768 screen and your Starcraft2 barely manages to load up. Or your keyboard had so many burned / melted keys that you could barely press (in my case) the CTRL key making me want to punch a newborn puppy. Or a soundsystem that would go from no volume to ultra fucking loud. Not good when the Old Spice Commercial dude is up I tell you that (or the incident in one of my previous parts). Since I have my headphones with me at all times, I would plug them in rendering the guy next to me who listens to k-pop all the time non existent
I've seen lots of guys playing BW. DOTA (at least that's what I think it was) even more, even played by old guys. WoW and a shitton of sports games like Football and Basketball. The PC Bang I most liked had people all the time and whenever I had girls sitting next to me they usually were browsing for clothes. I'm sure they do other stuff but it's not like I walk around stalking their screens *trollface*.
Starcraft 2
I had a few incidents were I would play SC2 and guys who walk by see it and I could hear them talk about it. One time a guy next to me played what looked like some kind of card game and he would lean over all the time checking my games. Making me try extra hard :D
About 5 games of getting smashed by muta-ling play, a strategy I had the hardest time ever, I played a PvZ on Shakuras going for a fast expansion. And as I fucked up my simcity I could hear him disagreeing ("nuooo") and I saw him shaking his head. I was acting all cool and shit haha and then got run over by lings. I remember me creeping deeper into my chair completely lost while he would light up a cigarette and turning his chair a bit more so he could see my screen properly. No words, but he obviously wanted to see me play. I got lucky and crashed a Terran next, going into another PvZ right after it. FE by me again and I felt like double stargate. I build the first and he goes: "nuooo". In my head unfolded a scenario with me screaming at him "WHAT MOTHERFUCKER? WHAT?" slamming my keyboard over his face. But I just looked over asking him "nuooo?". And he pointed at my screen with his hand moving up, he wanted to see my simcity and pointed at my gateway. I asked him: "More Gateways?" and he responded by nodding. So I build three more Gateways and he was talking in korean and then going "mou mou" making me put down 5 gates. "Blinku blinku". Needless to say I lost getting surrounded by lings and mutas but he was very into it by now doing all kinda hand motions on the table and talking in korean. I figured out at some point that he meant forcefields and two games later I won a very fun game with mass blink stalkers into one big clash surrounding myself with forcefields.
We continued this for about 1 1/2 hours using very basic communication. It was a blast and we had a fun time doing this. I had to leave for GSL so I thanked him and he wished me good luck. So thanks to you complete stranger if you should ever read this
Last Night
On my last night one guy promised me to take me around for some epicness but never showed up so I end up with another buddy looking for a club he had on his map. We couldn't find it and ended up in a huge Nightclub with barely anyone in there. Ended up back in Hongdae, split up in the Club and tried extra hard. He got lucky with one right away but then ended up alone shortly after. For me, well. One girl was smiling at me and dancing quite hyper. She had a slightly hotter girlfriend who didn't seem much into me and about a good 30 minutes later we met again and I ended up dancing with her girlfriend (after getting blocked by a korean guy for no reason but to probably taunt me). To much of the other girl's displease she slapped her girlfriend who was dancing with me on the shoulder and left. Making her leave too. So to you two I hope your friendship is all alright, I'm very sorry. I picked the wrong one :D
I thought about doing something sleazy but then decided to not stretch my karma haha!
Final Words
I had a blast. And while I remember going to a place without any proper preparation from my side whatsoever I cannot believe my luck. I'm very glad that it didn't work out with my hotel making me end up in a hostel with awesome people from all around the world. To all the koreans I've met and to the city that made me more comfortable than living in my own country. To all the great food! To all the clubs! To all the korean girls who are, to much of my own surprise, the most beautiful in my book. And of course to my liver for not crumbling and imploding haha.
Thanks to you for reading and if you want come check out my stream whenever you see my name on the list.
I shall return soon. <3 korea
