wow, was top 200 NA sever in phase 2 and today, i lost like 5-6 games in a row with no reason. I thought this is it, this is the wall that everyone will finally meet. This is when you stop getting better. So i took a small break and watch some stream, really enjoy fallen33 stream with his friendly commentary. Its always good to hear a real player commentating on games instead of random guys just make stuff up.
then shit happen.... i turned on sc2. Let Do this! ima break this F*CKING wall!!!! 1 win, fuck yeah, blink rush stalkers > marines all in =) 2 win, holy fuck, phoenixes cant win vs zerlings... oh, im getting back to the game. Yes, his 3rd went down, PUSH IN!!! Battle GOING ON! Dang! You have been dropped!....
rank 30 => rank 70s near 80s, thank you blizz, ima go play LoL now.

Definitely just a bad day, man. I had like 6 losses in a row one day and ragequit hard, then went 8 and 4 the very next day.
|
Probly bad day. There are some days when i play BW and i win a couple of games, and other days i go on a massive losing streak.
|
We all have those days.
I had a really bad losing streak a few days ago so I played a round of Battlecraft Armageddon to cool off because someone else noticed on IdrA's account that whenever he seemed to lose, he played a round of Battlecraft.
...But then, I realized BC Armageddon changed a lot since the beta and got stomped.
|
Yep bad days, just best if you stop playing, and stop thinking about it at all, you don't have a clear head because of those losses, so just go do something else.
Then tomorrow or so, sit down, look at the replays, and youll probably notice stuff that you hadn't noticed before.
And if you start to play back again, just put those losses out of your head, constantly thinking about, "I have to win this game now" will only distract you and prolly make you slightly nervous.

well it could just be statistical variance
think of it this way, no one wins 100% of their games, even the best players win like 60-70% of their games when they're playing in a completely even field
so you're losses can naturally sometimes clump up sheerly out of chance.
At least that's a good motivational thing to keep in mind so you don't get down on yourself. Don't be TOO results oriented after all, you need larger samples to draw anything from your play.

I had a bad week where I was exhausted from work and sc2 and only slept 4 hours a day. I think I had like 30% win rate that week.
Then the next week, I got insanely better at all my matchups and life was good =)
There is never a need to mass games, don't fall into that syndrome!
|
Last night was hell for me. Why? I lost like over 100 points and I was at like 256 ladder points. Then, I decided not to sleep and rest 30 minutes and then play again and won more games than losing games. Resting 30 minutes on and continuing, I got up to like around 390 ladder points and slept 2 hours.
|
i went 1-28 the other day (started at 51-20 ended at 52-48...that was just a bad day lol) i went 9-1 today...daily little slumps happen to everyone
also ignore your ladder points, just ignore them you will get less pissed off ^___^ they dont matter anyway winrate win/loss is where its at
and its funny i tend to play more when im losing because 1.i want that win 2.the replays teach me more about my weaknesses ^___^
also funny note before my losing streak i was playing vs 400~ diamond players after...usually 500-700~...wtf i lose 28 games in a row and it matches me vs "better" players...wtf blizzard you make no sense!
edit:

yea the same happened to me i lost from C- to D- and then just won every game til i was back at C- even higher than when i started, so really it was just my wins and losses clumping up together and helping me improve as the losses replays are conveniently right next to each other in the autoreplay folder

iv'e been having a fucking terrible day
first i lose 2 sc2 games, 1 is from terran lolmech push and second is from me misjudging a 2gate.
then i lose a lol game because i lag out like 4 times and then i win. good right? well it stops me from quitting video games for the day so i start playing again and win a ranked. then the fucking stupidest shit happens, my friend was being a retard so i que dodged him in a ranked game.we were yelling at him to go one hero and turns out he goes another because he's dumb. i que dodge, and it turns out you lose points by que dodging. then i lost another normal game
|
last week i went like 5-20 in a day so it could be worse. I went from like 5 in my division to 55
|
im currently like 20-3. just waiting to lose 4-5 in a row. It doesnt matter. The only time I get better is when I lose.
|
I remember losing 15 straight games on ICCup and going from rank C to rank D+, you just gotta grind through it
|
I don't play enough to have these huge stories of losing 25 games in a row or anything, but I've been trying to get to D+ lately. After I won a few games I was at ~1700 points and thought "well I'd have to lose like 8 in a row to be too far from D+".
I immediately lost 8 in a row.
