wtf, that came outta left field. Why would you hate gundam?

I have no hateful feelings towards Gundam, it was one of my rare jokes without a smiley. :D

strafe got noodled, but not by an oodilish amount

I thought they were pretty good games, Gundam had his good and bad spots as well as Strafe did. I think most of you people who think you can rate these guys and bad mouth their flaws but can't even dream of playing better should fuck off. I do not mean people such as Sadist, and Testie, as they have proven they are good players, but the rest of you can see above.
Now my question is based on what GroT said in his little report, maybe I am just slow but is the next opponent Testie?
On a different note DAMN YOU Testie for the 2v2 lashings *shakes fist*

it's very common for people to say gundam played bad or stupid because he plays so different from everybody else
It's infinitely more difficult to ignore everyone's views about what's "standard" and what "owns" on this map etc and still become a very good player by making only your own conclusions from each game
NFZ is a very hard map for TvP, and reaver drop is VERY scary. Gundam made a build that annihilates fast drops and does bad against fast shuttle/land gates/obs. Gundam microed bad and lost most of his expensive, early wraiths accomplishing nothing. While observing I thought he would never be able t leave his island and put up a fight for the land, but Ihe got raxes and went m&m, something me and I'm sure a whole bunch of you didn't even consider, to solve that problem and give him a shot.
If you make your own creative style, builds and strategy and you lose with them, there will aaaaaaaalways be people who say "lol u suck, u should have done this and that cause i saw nada winning like that"
well the fact is he doesn't suck. When rekrul played his first practice games in hexatron vs gundam, he said "fuck, gundam is the best tvp i have ever played"
|
though sadist, i must agree that I think gundam played bad on nostalgia
It just pisses me off when people diss gundam because of the creativity that makes him my favorite player

see, this is what I mean
do you really think gundam had one scv on his gas because he somehow misclicked 2 scvs away from his refinery?

I personally think losing 3-4 to one of the best TvP players ever is pretty damn good, so credit to Strafe for that. What I'm even more enthousiastic about is that Gundam won and we'll be seeing him some more. Against what I would consider a tougher opponent that Strafe.
You mean, you're going to play Gundam next?!

GroT, if there's one thing i've learned, - while being here especally - is to not force a higher understanding down the throats of other players. Unfortuneately, you must just let them spew their ignorance. They won't get it until they learn for themselves. Do not bother attempting to make public posts teaching. It will only frustrate the teacher.

It's always nice to see someone who actually knows what they're talking about talk about the games. Having to (not literally) see all these people who know so little talk about how poor Gundam played is really ridiculous. I think it's a good thing that people like GroT say things to try and educate the people who know so little-- even though it's a very frustrating process.

awesome games. Both played amazing(gj to strafe for raping at Nostalgia).

Gundam is pro? Doesn't look like it.

Really good performance by both players, great strategies. I was really confused about the suicide strat on forbiddenZone though^^ Nice that he tried it anyway

Testie / Zia : Undefeated. We're pro's. Yeah, that's right. Booyakka. !

As a "teacher" in other fields, I have felt the same way before, but becoming a student here I changed my mind and I don't agree with you anymore. Generally speaking (not this topic particularly), for every idiot answering with some stupid comments there are a lot of lurkers abstaining from uneducated remarks and drinking your teaching. Please don't disappoint them

i enjoy reading post from ppl who know or who are on a higher level. i dont make the dum remarks saying they sucked tho

no he had one scv on gas because he never moved any after it finished building. 3 minutes later he realized and moved another, then noticed there was still only 2 and moved another
Or was that some sort of amazing strategy of his that is so far beyond my limited intellect that I could never hope to understand it. It's great that you think he's really good, I'm not saying he isn't, but don't try and pretend it was some awesome strategy or his uncanny ability to think outside of the box when he just forgot to mine gas or build an academy.
I mean shit dawg I totally saw nada mining gas after he built a refinery so he should have done that
actually now that i watched it he did have 3 on gas but moved 2 back, he might have done it on purpose or by accident

To be honest, the games were awful. Sure there was a lot of stategic thinking behind them, but the results showed nothing but one sided games. The game on luna was pretty good, strafe did a good job to almost get a win out of it and i think gundam showed what he can really do when he plays well. Double expanding wasnt the best idea, but strafe played well off of it.
The requiem game was poor, the dahlia game was just a perfect counter with solid micro by strafe. the mercury game was failed cheese, the bifrost game was successful cheese. the nostalgia game gundam just played horribly while strafe played great. and the nfz was a good idea that didnt work out too well.
I think gundam should have used his build more and I really dont like strafe's build. he get's obs really fast but at the cost of some units, which are absolutely necessary against an opponent like gundam.
