i bought a blues music book a when i first started playing guitar; i was going to teach myself how to read music. after i bought it i found out there were tabs to it, and when i tried to play the tab it sounded a bit off; me being a person who obsesses over things that are out of place got a little angered and turned off by the guitar a bit, but i still played guitar after that.
a couple months later i then bought a keyboard, which taught me to read music really well, and to train my ears to a point where i can hear any, or mostly any note, i might be wrong, being played in a song;in short err keyboard/piano taught me to understand music way more than playing the guitar, because when you have a guitar you have the chance it'll go out of tune every time you play, and it's basically pretty hard for you to learn to understand music without a teacher.
so i'm pretty pissed to find the book i bought to help me understand music's tab was written in standard tuning instead a 1/2 step up as it should.
Btw, the song was Boom Boom Boom - John Lee Hooker
grrr...

It was written to match your guitar's tuning

yeah, i understand that, lol. if you're going to make a tab might as well make it accurate, and me, when i first started out, put complete trust in this book and it wasn't accurate, that just made me pissed.

yea books often transpose things. If it was a beginner's book that probably made it soe you could play it in first position.

It was a book for beginners who probably don't know what up a 1/2 step even means or how to use their tuner to get up a 1/2 step or who don't know the chord to play it up a half step and who can't bare etc.
