This is a cracked version(v1.15.2) of Starcraft used mainly for playing with at LANs where every computer does not have Starcraft installed. Great for allowing multiple people to play together at school, work, etc.
There is no installation or patching or anything. Easiest if you put it in a jump drive and pass it around so people can get the file, but I've often forgotten the jump drive at home so alternatively every person can just download it from the link provided below. Now some of you may think that this shouldn't be allowed to be posted on TL(if a mod still thinks otherwise let me know of course), but I believe it is fine because you cannot play on B.net with this, due to the fact that you aren't using a valid CD-key. Just like legit Starcraft, you can put in a banned CD-key or whatever and still play, but just not go online, so in my opinion this is just an easier way that skips the installation process but still provides the same thing without installing with an actual CD.
There are definitely many other versions of cracked SC for LANs, but this is by far the best one I found(after 2 hours of searching in class yesterday! >_< ) because it's so easy to use and contains the most recent version of SC.

Just unzip and run the 'StarCraft.exe'!
You can download more maps and drag n drop them into the maps folder like you normally would, and the campaign editor even works as well.
P.S. For finding this thread in the future, you should be able to type "Portable Starcraft LAN" in the search bar. I didn't want to lose the site I downloaded this from so I just reuploaded it myself. It was in 2 parts before anyway, now one.

Thanks, this is awesome because I have like 5 computers in the house and its a pain in the ass always to try and get the game to work

Isn't 1.16.1 the current version?
e: Plus, I've found the iccup DL to be easier - no actual installation there.

I know this isn't the most recent version, but there isn't any horrible balance issues or anything in v.1.15.2, as it was somewhat recent.
It still works perfectly fine, even alongside a legitimately installed SC at version 1.16.1

What advantage is there to using this over the ICCup DL?

Hmm... I still believe that when it comes to portable/minimalistic versions of SC:BW Monikon is king: http://student.agh.edu.pl/~monikon/scbw/ 93MB, 1.16.1, full game and even works on b.net if you have original cd-key.

wow cool.. I think at my school it will be all like "access denied" though.. Or no?
|
Edit: I was wrong. Niffty Niffty!

You do know u could just put the Starcraft File from your hard drive onto a USB or something and play it, you don't really have to use a cracked version

Hah, this is what I do to play in the labs at my school.

Just DL the iccup version, it's the same size and it's 1.16.1. But good job offering this to people who didn't know about minimal versions of starcraft.

yeah this one works pretty well (at least for playing on iccup, haven't tested LAN). Pretty small file size and is updated to the latest patch

It works for LAN as well. Pretty much multiplayer works but single player doesn't.
