First iccup blog of the season~!
After getting B- last season (with baaaarely a week left), i decided to try for B- again, and somehow i got it a week ago.
so now i'm trying for B, but it seems like the players are on a new level here..
PvP After trying to dodge it all the way up to B-, i decided what the hell, might as well play it. even though each loss is 100 points, i've already hit my goal for the season of B- so. I played a couple of PvPs and no doubt, got raped badly.
i think i have a wrong mindset for pvp on collo, i always try to contain the opponent at their choke, but i always get run over. so i've decided to stick my reav/goon play as opposed to the 3 gate goon + obs.
not much else to say, i suck at pvp.
PvT During my climb to B-, i started beating 200/200 terrans, timing pushes rather easily. This made me cocky, and i tried the same cookie cutter builds (2 gate goon into double expo without reaver or dt) and consequently, i was handed two quick losses from timing pushes.
I really feel there's a huge difference between B level terrans and C level terrans.. Watching my replays, I see the terrans really know what to do, exploit holes in my defense, have correct timings, decent mechanics (better than me anyway..) good decision making overall. Of course they're far from perfect, but i'm farther away so i get owned.
I'm really looking forward to improving my pvt by massing pvt games at B-, now that i dont care whether i fall back to C+
PvZ I love this match up because it's so fun. and because once again, it's been saving my ass. After trying to face the 5 hatch mass hydra + mutalisk without corsairs, it was too hard so i decided to incorporate it into my play. For the first few games I tried, I really had a hard time trying to prepare storm, obs, until I tried the reav/sair.
I just get around 8-10 corsairs with a speed shuttle to harass the zerg, while grabbing third. it has worked wonders because it feels like how the bisu build used to work out. By this I mean you harass the zerg as much as you can, and meanwhile you can grab a third without much threat.
Afterwards, I just mass goon ht zeal and just roll out. For most of the time, I try to hit it before hive tech because then the goon/ht becomes useless. Usually, I can kill them with this hanbang, but if i dont, i lose.
So now that I hit B-, I really feel I can play without pressure I guess and aim for B!
Btw, I'm looking for a Zerg and Terran partner.. anyone around B- or B level PM me please!

Nice man :D I've been hovering between C+/B- for about a week. Only did a few PvPs since mine is terrible and I can't stand the mu, PvZs been a little rough but PvTs been even harder =[. I can't seem to get a hang of PvT on colosseum (if a terran is good at the timings and can EMP well I have a really hard time stopping the 200/200 3-2 (or is it 3-3 push?) they do on colosseum) and RH3 (RH3 is more of because I'm dumb and think that since i have a big supply difference on Terran I can break them but doesn't work that well on RH3, I'm thinking of learning the proper 2 base carrier for that map. Most of the games I win there are with like a proxy robo or terran really screws up their FD or something I can kill them early). When Destination is the motw I'm hoping to get back to about mid B- focusing mainly on PvT (I really like that mu especially vs Korean terrans).
If you have any good PvTs from Colosseum could you maybe upload them? It'd be nice to see how another P player deals with that push. ygosu doesn't really have a good selection of them, most of their recent reps are on destination and medusa :/.

you can't really stop 200/200 terran, your whole army will melt before you kill even 30 t units, unbelievable.....

Don't feed the hot_bid
Good luck on your quest to defeat the blue "-". May it's menacing ways forever be forgotten. Until next season.

even f91 died to that vs. Idra (well, it wasn't 200/200, but it was a pretty damn big push) so i dont think its just a pvt problem on colloseum, i think the map is pretty damn imba. Although i would like to see some replays of players defeating that, because it kills me all the time.
Also, while you go for B, i'll go for C :D

I never said it is impossible, if its 0-0 200/200 that's quite possible with good flanking or arbiter stasis. if it is 3-3 200/200, I highly suspect you can beat it, unless you got perfect storm and massive stasis and flanking.

I agree with your PvP statements. I hate that matchup so much, I really cannot wrap my head around it. I switch around so much, sometimes I DT; than find myself losing too much, so I switch to Reaver/Goon. Than I find myself losing to four gate all-ins, so I switch to three-gate obs. I can't seem to find a good build that I can just practice.
Hate that MU.

You don't beat the push in 1 attack. You have to keep throwing units at it until you break it while making sure the terran doesn't secure a 4th.

"I really feel there's a huge difference between B level terrans and C level terrans"
im pretty sure that applies to all match ups/races
