This is an interesting observation I had while taking a look at some calorie numbers for food I ate in the past few days.
Medium Size Cantaloupe = 200 Calories
Jack-In-The-Box: Double Bacon & Cheese Ciabatta = 1120 Calories or 5.6 Cantaloupes Oreo Cookie Shake (24oz) = 1450 Calories or 7.25 Cantaloupes
In terms of calorie content, the burger and shake add up to almost 13 cantaloupes.
I think I'm gonna start avoiding those Oreo shakes from now on.

Wait...you mean a WHOLE cantaloupe?...wow, when you put it that way pretty much all junk food seems like way too much food now.

I would worry more about what the food is made out of than how many calories it has
same conclusion though, lol

same conclusion though, lol Yeah true. Food comparisons always have to be put in perspective.
Sugar is much better from fruit than from junk food, etc.
Edit: I'm going to go buy junk food now lol

Of course the nutritional value is important. I'm just thinking that it's no wonder that people are overweight, when a single meal amounts to more calories than a sedentary person would burn in a day.

mcdonalds is just smaller than they used to.
had their big macs be as big as they were 5 years ago, they would just be as bad as jack in the box.
|
lol, i almost never eat mcdonalds so on the rare occasion I do go, I order whatever has the most calories etc. Hehehehe~

not to mention the ease of getting such items, and the chemicals that are put in the food specifically so people will become addicted to them
it's kind of ufnny if people who used to eat fast food take a break and eat naturally for 3 months, and try to go back and eat that kind of food i guarantee it will smell like chemicals to them

I started eating more fruits and vegetables this summer. I've been exercising too, but I didn't really lose much weight (I did gain muscle though) before I started eating fruit and vegetables for entire meals. I went from a steady 175 to somewhere between 167-170 depending on the day. And I still have the muscle. :>
I could stand to lose a little more though, I still have a fair bit of flab on my sides. I can't stand McDonalds anymore (and haven't been able to for nearly a year), the only item I can really eat is the grilled chicken.
Cantaloupe and honey dew are amazingly filling for having so much water in them.

keep in mind that fruits and even more so vegetables have very little calories compared to almost any other food, and you cant live off of fruits/veggies alone

A lot of fast food is also full of trans fat, which is really bad for you.
|
LOL, that was a good read

go to burger king instead of mcdonalds
|
cantalope is fucking nasty. I'd rather eat McDonalds and that shit is fucking nasty.
PS- Anyone else notice that fast food prices are going up and portion sizes are going down? What the fuck? Wendy's used to have the best (and only) 99 cent menus, now all the burgers are smaller and some shit is like 1.29 etc. Fuck that.
