I played lacerate bleed glad for most of the league, mostly just farming currency. Started an archmage build yesterday so I've been dumping money into that.
I've been using recombinators a lot for making gear. Feels like they're still flying mostly under the radar for how OP they are again. It's pretty easy to make 100 div wands if you're willing to put in the effort collecting wand bases and alt spamming. I also made a 3k EV / 600 ES necrotic armor with t2 suppress, int, and t3 res without too much trouble. Would like to make one with t1 suppress and more ev/es but getting 86 bases is kind of hard. Maybe a rogue exile strat would be good for farming those bases.
Still wish they'd rebalanced gold, but seems like that ship has sailed. Pretty hard to make large amounts of gold without either mass running a gold farm atlas or T17s.

I love the league but I've been busier than ever this August so I only had time to reach level 90 and the two basic voidstones.
For now I'm playing Lacerate bleed glad too, but I'm looking to a new build to play in September when I have free time again.

Any tips on recombinators / any decent guides? Playing Storm Burst totems in SSF and have garbage gear - is it as simple as alt-spamming for decent spell damage / mana or cast speed rolls and mashing them together in the recombinator? Need to update my filters tbh.

I've had the best luck just alt spamming to combine 1+1 then 2+2 and then doing suffixes the normal way of harvest reforge, veiled orb, craft. The biggest decider for keeping things seems to be the number of other unwanted mods when combining things. I just did % dmg + mana and hybrid + mana, since mana is by far the most common to roll. Mine all ended up with full suffixes after getting the prefixes combined, so I just won all my 50/50 annuls. I think I put in about 5k alt orbs to make 3.5 wands.
I know Ben was trying to do a triple T1 flat sword early on while keeping attack speed on a suffix (zeal essence), but I don't know if he ever succeeded. It's a lot easier if you're not trying to keep a suffix along the way.
The other thing I've done when combining essence or reforged items is to annul off some of the dud mods since annuls are pretty cheap this league (3-4c). It's been a lot less reliable when combining than alt spamming was, but I've made some decent rings to go with the wands/chest.
84 bases drop like candy for any base, so it's easy to mass them from regular mapping. You can still uplevel with recombinating, so that's another option for 86s in a pinch, but gold prices are kind of expensive (it's like 6-7k per recomb for what I've been doing).

Yeah the thing that turned me off was the gold costs. 10k gold + 6k dust to 1/3 brick an item is pretty rough, especially when you've got shipping or mapping likely able to use that 10k gold and come back with at least 20c value on average
If I was playing SSF I'd be all over it.

I've had such a roller coaster league. My start was a disaster and I think I had covid or just a really bad flu. swapped out to a comfortable la warden that is batshit insane to level on. oath of winter is just straight up untested in the campaign and you can't tell me otherwise. Everything freezes for two seconds and bosses just slow down to a crawl at worst until they too freeze for two seconds at a time. honestly just add cold damage is enough to freeze everything.
Wardens lightning strike has a deep deep valley inbetween its insane peaks. a melee build that has zero defensive acendencies its super weak when it has to take a hit, struggled for a good week trying different builds for some sort of solution until wait what is that noise? ITS SVALINN BABY COMING TO SAVE THE DAY. This unique is as batshit insane as oath of winter but for mid-late game. Its not just in the best shield in game compeititon its also so much more common than it has any right to and its got one remotely relevant roll thats honestly not that bad. If it was just making block lucky that would be one thing but it also somehow for some unknown reason also has a free trigger craft on it. wall of flame and hydrosphere also synergise with lightning strike incredibly well.
I got my HH now and man its a different game once you get this thing. got the gloves with a mini la branch and it feels so good. Having such a great time with endless conflict dunes legion.

Yeah, a lot of people are big on Svalinn this league. I've had my eye on it for archmage since the defenses so far just feel OK with dual wielding. Once I finish my gloves (either via recombinating or giving up and buying a fractured based) I'll finally have 100% ele avoid and suppression and see how that feels.
Damage-wise, it's really hard to give up a second wand. I've only got haunted on the one since I'm not committed either way, but you still lose almost half your damage to drop a wand. I'm not sure where I'd make up enough damage to make it feel worthwhile.

I started a couple weeks late but right now I'm enjoying the league very much. Since I started so late and didn't prepare anything, I just joinked the Dual Strike build from Alkaizer and I like it. I still got garbage gear so I'm chilling in T16 maps and building my town. I only got 2 voidstones from Eater and Exarch (I will never learn his ball phase, I just die everytime...) and just realised I haven't even done Uber Lab. In my next play session I will probably be doing that and try to fix my gear now that I have accumulated a few divines.

have lots of fun so far this league. Already at my third character... - Lightnnig arrow deadeye (Started) - Arc ignite Elementalist (huge!) - Coc Arc Inquisitor (really fun so far !)
nice league !

Tbh its not just campaign that everything has been frozen. Early in the league I'd have to stop hitting certain Syndicate members so they could actually unfreeze and die - Tora / Vagan / Hillock (and probably others?) could get frozen in their movement skill and can't actually die until that animation finishes, so I have to stop hitting to let them unfreeze.
Similar happened with some map and Beyond/Delirium bosses, if I hit hard enough I could just freeze them in place til dead. You can also feel the impact on shaper etc, his slam is so hilariously slow if you have him frozen.
Oath of Winter is great. Monsters have a (70-85%) chance to avoid elemental ailments is the mod that's by far the worst for me, both offensively and defensively.

League has been great. Started a few days late, went Locus Power Siphon Trickster. Wasn't feeling it at first, but the build gets much smoother with a bit of speed. I was steadily making about 30div per ~5h of daily casual play doing Destructive Play shaper/conqueror maps with invitations, while leveling to 100. Got my mageblood, and I'm at 30 challenges, going for 36. Then I might try LS Slayer or just quit and ride that PoE2 hype.
I feel like this league will last 5-6 months, however, since there's no way they're launching anywhere near PoE2 EA on November 15.
On another note, only goal I didn't hit was crafting an insane trickster chest. No clue what's the best way to go about it, so I settled on my 3k Eva/450ES chest with chaos res and spell supp. I really wanted to hit 4k, but it seems insanely RNG, expensive and boring.

I Want to do an ee trickster flicker for my last build, but I'm rolling so hard on my ls warden I don't know where to stop exactly.
I'm not going to get too hype about poe2 ea, I have a feeling its going to be really underwhelming compared to the wealth of content we're spoiled with in poe currently.

If they do a 3 month league, or slightly less, it'd put the next league a full month before POE2. While start dates have tended to slip in recent leagues, it's hard to see them actively planning on a 5+ month league when so much of their revenue is based around the season cycle.
They may also want to start testing alternating the two leagues to see how POE1 numbers change (although maybe not since the numbers will be obviously skewed when it's a new game rather than just a new league). Delaying past mid november also puts them that much closer to the Christmas holiday, which has also been a problem historically.
My money is on it being closer to 3 than to 5.

Idk man, it's not a full month before, just 3 weeks. Settlers is also a big league with the potential of lasting longer than the previous ones on its own. I doubt they will release another league before PoE2 EA. At least I hope they won't.

They need to make currency exchange+gold go core immediately, so at least part of Kalguur has to go core, and they have to cook a new league on top of that. 3 months sounds too short, and any kind of delay would mean overlapping launches.
I think the best we'll get is a few races before PoE2 EA.

yeah I would rather have this league lasts 6-7 months and them doing an event a few weeks before PoE2 then rushing out another league in under 3 months.

I think the best we'll get is a few races before PoE2 EA. They've managed to do more in 3 months than anyone expects for years now, though. I'm sure they often start working on things further in advance than the current league, so it's probably a much longer runway for getting leagues out the door.
I think overlapping leagues is pretty likely one way or the other, with them either doing a late oct or early december release, but I guess we'll see what happens.

From what I've heard and seen of PoE 2 so far, I'm decently sure I'll be remaining with PoE 1 as long as it exists (and doesn't get surpassed by a similar game).
PoE 2 seems like a console game (WASD movement looks superior on controllers and I don't think it's optional even if it technically is) and as someone who doesn't like soul games (not even Elden Ring managed to catch me), the focus on boss combat doesn't excite me.
It could be wrong and that just the campaign is filled with boss fights, we will see. Either way, they conformed some soul style game similarities (for example you will have no portals on bosses - if you die, you gotta restart over from full boss health).
