Yes it is, with both fewer and additional bugs!

Yeah I think there is an RTS game concept somewhere there

This auto observer is awesome! The only thing I would like adjusted is when there is a battle going on it jumps to show a pylon being made. I don't think there is usually continuous battles in broodwar so if the observer would just watch the fight that would be great.

Dude, I just wanted to stop by and say - this is AMAZING! Not sure how viable it will be but looks fun and is something totally out of the box.
I'll give it a test drive tonight and stream some replays via the blacksheepwall, from the group stage of the Bulgarian SC league that we organize annually around xmas every year.
Super cool, thanks for publishing it online!!! Please post in this thread if you have a stream where classic matches are replayed with blacksheepwall ( :D )

Quick question, how can I make the auto observer to stop changing the speed of the game? I want to watch on one speed.
Thanks brother I really appreciate that. I just wanted my idea to exist.
You can open the control panel ( cog icon on home screen or press ESC in a game for menu ) and go to plugins -> Auto Observer, and change the max replay speed to 1.

I played with that idea but I won't be doing it myself. Some replays break so there has to be a little bit of management.

Awesome! Did it work out? Sorry in advance if it didn't

Hi man, ye it did! ;D Tbh, I'm with mixed feelings but it's viable for the job and is a breath of fresh air, which I like!
1st some general feedback from the viewers: - the camera is too shaky. most of the ppl said this after watching for ~5 mins in. A few ppl were talking about sea sickness :D I think it's alright, but slight adjustments could do the job probably.
- the thing that breaks the deal for real SC coverage is that you can't get a proper feeling/understanding of the distances between units in many cases. That was vital for most of the hardcore viewers to say they didn't like it. Idk if there is any workaround for it, tho :|
- I was worried that blacksheepwall would switch the scenes too much and too often, but this worked out well I think. Whenever needed, I helped the auto obs by pointing a place on the mini-map. There was that one issue though - when something happens around the borders of the map, the screen would just move away from the place and it was hard to get a view of the right place.
I got the recordings of the two streams that we did, and you can check for yourself how it looks. The cast is in Bulgarian. The most frustrating moment for me as an obs/caster was at 01:48:22, here:
and here is the another recording:
Merry Christmas !
P.S. Also the thing with the auto change of the pace was too intrusive and I had to keep an eye on the info at the bot left corner, which was an annoying downside. The speeds didn't make any sense :D I was kinda flabbergasted looking at the numbers of the weird 'speeds'.

Alright cool. I think I can fix that stuff. I have a feeling people simply prefer the feel of the classic/official UI so I get what you mean. In my experience its great for youtube shorts, recaps / promos etc.
FYI. You can lock it to 1x speed. The speed displayed should is the game speed multiplier, so 1.5x means 1.5 times the speed. If you prefer not to use auto observer press 1, 2 and 3 are other modes, and 4 is auto observer.
Merry Christmas to you too! En Taro Adun
