I read this on his namuwiki , It was mentioned above that he quit afreecatv
“Since childhood, I have only been a celebrity. Thanks to my celebrity fans, as a celebrity, I have been very happy so far.
I am glad that you have always supported me until the end, and I will always be grateful for your life.
Because I no longer read communication, I don't know if I will be scolded, so it's really the final announcement.
I hope you don't argue because I have an ignorant sexual desire, rather than criticizing me.
Everyone should also pay attention to mental health.
I really appreciate it. The fans who really cheered me on never saw it easily. Please believe me in this.
I hope everyone will always support Starpan Come on!”——Google Translate https://bj.afreecatv.com/tjdeosks/post/107650728

is it a complete retirement from starcraft? i hope he comes back in some capacity, it really sucks to lose a top level kespa-era player when we don’t have enough new-blood to replace the old guard.

Yes, friends, unfortunately, our favorite game is gradually fading away.
There are no new great players in the plans. (the latter are more or less strong - JyJ, soma, YSC).
Old school players have families, children, etc. (Rush, Sharpe, Stork, etc.) Another couple of years, and the new players will have families and children, and they will not have time for professional games.
The larva has left, now Action, the Stork also plays for fun.
I think 2025 will be the last year that any tournaments will be held.
The organizers need to come up with something new. ASL is slowly dying as a tournament. Maybe it will last another 2 ASL, but then it’s unlikely (in December-January there will be ASL 17, and closer to summer-autumn the last 18th season and that’s it).
Action was one of my favourite zerg player. Good Luck Kim Dong Su!!!

"I've been a starcraftplayer since I was young, but thanks to the Starcraft fans, I had a good time playing starcraft.
I'm so glad that you supported me until the end. I'll always be thankful.
This is really my last announcement. I don't know if I will be criticized or what happens but I'm not going to watch any more social media at all.
I don't want you to fight, swear at me for my ignorance or critize me.
Everyone, take care of your mental health!
I'm really thankful and I can see all the fans who allways supported me so much. Please believe me!
I hope you continue to support us until the end. Fighting, everyone!"

Personally I plan on arguing a lot because of his ignorant sexual desire.
Seriously though as I said in another thread Action will be dearly missed. He's one of the all-time great late-game ZvTers. I'm incredibly thankful for the countless hours of practice and energy he put into this game that we all love so that we could watch him and enjoy his play. I always have a soft spot for someone like Action who has spent most of his career (15+ years) in the top 20 players in the world but never able to snag a gold.
I hold out hope that he might come back after a few months or a year (as some other players have after retiring for a bit). But if not I wish him the best of luck in his next venture.

I think i laughed for a good two minutes at that sentence.
On a serious note, we start to age out of brood war it seems. ASL needs players like Action who can take down anyone, all the best to him!

Sad to see him go, he's always been one of my favorite zergs. Even though he never won a big starleague, he was always a fantastic macro zerg and made it to so many ro8s in ASL as well as being fun to watch in proleague way back in the day.
With that being said, some of these comments are so funny to me. People said brood war would end when warcraft 3 came out, yet we are still here so many years later. Every single top player was forced to switch to sc2, yet bw still survived. It seems like people never get tired of proclaiming the end of star 1. It must be some really weird aspect of human nature to say something they like will end soon. I wonder if people will still call for the end of bw to come soon when we celebrate its 50th anniversary and 2nd remaster in 2048 X)

One of the most consistent zergs alongside HerO. His defiler play is unmatched (maybe except by ggplay)
All the best Action to your next chapter. Always thought u have one of the best names in the biz.

Reading this makes me very sad...

damn... game really is starting to lose its players slowly but surely. hopefully we have a big one off final asl where all the top dogs try one last time to make it.
|
Are we going to be expecting a Jinjin video a month from now making fun of his comeback like last time?
|
This thread is old... Action is not retired. He got salty after losing to effort in the previous ASL and returned a month later and has been active since.
