I have been a fan and frequent watcher of ForGG for about 10 years and have always been friendly in the chat. Interacting with others, asking questions, making jokes, and having a great time. I can confidently say he has been my favorite player for as long as I can remember. Build orders, attitude, etc... Today was very different. A user named 'jrs08' was extremely toxic, name calling, trying to rank shame (claim others are low rank) and generally was just causing fights. I normally would let something like this go but decided I needed to speak up to touch on a very important issue, as this is the perfect example I can provide from personal experience.
This is NOT just to center out one person (streamer or chat user) but to bring awareness to other big streamers as I often witness miscommunication being reason for removing someone. It is SO important to have mods if you're numbers are large to moderate issues. Today I received a chat ban for asking questions and interacting. This happened because instead of properly analyzing the chat, a quick ban and picking favorites prevailed and unfortunately has resulted in the loss of a fan of 10 years. I've donated from different accounts and been supportive since Brood War.
I encourage all popular streamers to make moderators and have faith in the team you create. Too often streamers lose good fans because of miscommunication or bad apples. It is just unfortunate some poor chat management can result in losing streamers some of their longest running fans/return viewers.
I will always be a fan at heart, but I can't help but feel for anyone else who has experienced something similar with a streamer they enjoy.

You are a fan for 10 years and stopped because you got banned by someone who's second language is English? You can appeal and submit an unban request and if your chat history isn't toxic I'm sure you'll be unbanned.
|
If only things were that simple. Obviously this is not a one off, it has been recurring. Why would I want to appeal after being treated so poorly? I have had nothing but respect in the channel and a returning viewer for a decade. It is unfortunate that money and favoritism plays a large role here.

Again to reiterate, this is why it is so important to have proper mods to moderate your channel. Easily avoidable.

If you’ve been a frequent donator surely the incentive to ban you isn’t that high?
Sounds more likely a miscommunication or a mistake that an appeal could swiftly fix.
|
Not worth an appeal. Like I said. This ship has sailed. Respect is given where it is deserved. Great player. Could be swiftly fixed with an English moderator, could have been avoided with one to begin with. Hence the importance of the message I am trying to convey. Proper moderators for a busy chat is very important. A language barrier can be dealt with properly and efficiently. The incentive to ban comes from this toxic user relying on his own current frequent donations to encourage bans. Unfortunately money wins over loyalty, and that's the damage that has been done.

This post is to bring awareness to streamers and encourage the use of proper mods in channels... not to slam ForGG for not having good English. Please do not try to manipulate the issue I am trying to raise about the importance of moderators to be negative towards Park. Today's incident had fueled me to want to bring awareness to this issue because it happens to many people on streaming platforms.

Your first post on Teamliquid, almost 7 years ago:
On January 24 2014 20:23 ObamaBinFrauden wrote: Hey, I am just here making a post about the unbelievably awful first encounter I had tuning into PainUser's live stream.
I had come into the stream, and as I tuned in PainUser was upset claiming someone was stream sniping. I then proceeded to ask why he thought this since I did not see the game. He immediately called me a retard and told me that any 'dumb ****er kid could see that he was stream sniping him' then continued to spit hateful speech towards me and rally up viewers to do the same.
I have been an avid stream watcher for years now and a part of teamliquid.net for some time, and watch stream daily. I have never once encountered such poor and distasteful treatment in a stream chat before. He had people threatening to DDOS me, making derogatory racial slurs about Mexicans and other hate speech'. Threatening to have all his viewers report my twitch and my youtube etc in the stream chat... I came in and asked a simple innocent question, and received unacceptable improper treatment... I am hoping there will not be more experiences like this for other streamers. This is one stream I will def discourage others to watch. I only hope that others will not have to encounter the same issues and hope that PainUser reconsiders his hateful speech in the future, especially if one day he wants his name to be represented by sponsors.
Time really is a flat circle.

Yes unfortunately as I reiterate, it happens to many people. Took me 7 years to speak up against the issue again. As I'll state again, this is just to bring awareness to the important of moderators. Please don't try to shift this into a negative light and antagonizing a post by bringing up a thread from 7 years ago. The only point to repost that is to antagonize and cause argument and discomfort. This is also toxic.

Look man it's obvious from your posts that you're upset and I think the best action you can take it to just sleep it off, and appeal the ban tomorrow.
I've been banned for saying GG because 'the game might not have been completely over when you said it.' Obviously it's frustrating, but it happens. It's best to just skip the mods and utilize the appeal function; however, sleep it off first and keep any frustration out of your appeal.

He needs to vent and we, as a collective, need to listen.

Hunta15 Like I said. Ill reiterate a fourth ( or is it fifth time ?) since the concept has easily evaded you... this post isn't because I want to appeal. It is not to slam ForGG for not having good english. It has nothing to do with being upset as I am not upset. I am disappointed in the way that things are dealt with and disappointed that a current influx of donations from someone can be incentive to ban a loyal follower of a decade.
Why would it be best to skip the mods? (especially when there are already none)... if there were mods, this may have been easily prevented (as stated earlier also). Hence the reason for the post and why I have decided to speak up about these kind of issues across all streaming platforms. If you are going to comment please add something constructive to the thread. Even mods here seem to be trouble starters. Bro0d has obviously brought up an old post from 7 years again with the aim to stir up conflict. It seems you get these types of people anywhere you go. If we are not allowed to raise our concerns in a 'public discussion thread' then where are we expected to do so ? Nothing posted here was against post rules or guidelines for TL.net

Jesus, drama queen. It's easily fixable but you refuse to get it fixed and rather create drama about it on TL? That's just NOT the way to go about things. I'm sure 99% of the people on here will think just the same, don't wanna get it fixed? Then don't turn into a drama queen as right now you're a part of the problem.
Also, the vast majority here won't care as 1) the solution is obvious, 2) you refuse to solve it, 3) drama.

Do you think I'm going to take fucking ObamaBinFrauden's opinion on anything seriously?
Let him complain. People are allowed to complain. But on the reverse side, we are also allowed to mock him.
The level of sincerity in this thread, from a guy called ObamaBinFrauden, is probably negative.

There are probably people who see who the poster is, look at the title, and choose not to open the thread.
I envy these people.

I envy these people. what does the username have to do with the person at all? my username is fking evilfatsh1t and i can tell you i am definitely not a fat shit. ive been underweight for the majority of my life. what a dumb post

Discriminating on someone for a 12 year old username is immature. This is a form of online bullying.
Again for the people who clearly cannot read. This is to bring up the importance of moderators, with an example of my own personal experience. Not to slam a streamer or complain about one user, as I know I have clearly stated a few times. Seems the message and big picture is soaring over some people's heads here.

Newsflash: Slim but seemingly intolerant evilfatsh1t defending ObamabinFrauden for being a dramaqueen!
