So many people hate him (including the sitting Predisent). If he pushes the tax bill through before Jones is sworn in, he'll be no worse off really-nothing else was going to get through by 2018.

My feeling is that McConnell was barely kept around though clearly not doing "well enough". I think he was only kept around for utility. Moore winning shows he doesn't have enough utility.

McConnel and the GOP is beyond fucked. They are going to face ACA levels of backlash, but they won't have Obama in the White House. What do they do if Democrats get Obama level black turn out for 2 elections in a row?

Here's to hoping we start catering to blacks more intently. They got us Obama and Jones.

They are demanding a recount. https://twitter.com/NPR/status/940801682509885441 I think he's talking about counting the write-ins, maybe? Because there's pretty much no basis for a recount here, required or otherwise. It's going to be >1.5%. And that's without provisional ballots that would be counted in a recount situation, I think. They tried to pull similar crap in NC, it quickly fell apart (and there the margin was much smaller than in AL proportionally). Moore is just desperate to remain relevant just like McCrory was.

Democrats got dumpstered in 2010. And people loved Obama, but it didn't matter against fired up Republicans afraid the black man was coming for their guns and health care. I don't think they are as fired up as black folks and democrats are now. People be pissed. Obama ran on hope and yes we can. Trump ran on fuck your feelings and democratic apathy. All people need is a good candidate and for state politics to be state politics.
