Polt won 4 harder WCS events It is pretty ridiculous to claim Neeb is better than Polt was. But at the same time, one best of 3 does not take away from what Neeb has accomplished. I would not say that Neeb beating Rogue invalidates Rogue as possibly the best player in the world right now or that Major beating TY makes TY not significantly better than Major. ofc bo3 allows for a lot of upsets. I just find it ridicolous that people are treating Neeb as a top 3 player based on 1 bo3 against Rogue and on his WCS wins which every above average korean would have won. I haven't been following LotV, and only been hearing all this talk about how Neeb is. Has Neeb been competing in Code S, and how has he done there? He lost in qualifiers.

Oh okay. Seems a bit like an overstatement from Artosis to call him the best foreigner there has ever been then, if he hasn't even managed to qualify for the most competitive tournament.

I certainly would not put him as a top 3 player, but one don't need to be a top 3 player to win this tournament. You need a few good matchups, and a few games to go your way. There is hype around Neeb because there is a realistic chance that he could go far in this tournament. With that said, I think Rogue is heavily favored in the rematch.
Personally, I like Neeb because he is humble. But I realize a lot of people want to root against him because he is American, and a lot of us American fans are annoying as fuck.

off topic but does anyone actually miss Polt
i know many here think of him as just someone lucky enough to survive region lock and farm the foreign tournaments
but i feel like his games, especially in the runs where he won the tournament, had a special kind of tension in them, and his playstyle was somewhat unique in that it was able to consistently elevate him to win a tournament every year in spite of constantly facing opponents with better mechanics, and was never based upon a single timing attack, a single all-in or any singular thing in the game, but rather consistently making better decisions

Neeb didn't qualify for Code S this year, I believe he tried one of the earlier seasons. Of course, he was also busy winning 75% of the WCS events this year... The last one, including Challenger, he had a crazy map record like 30-2 or something stupid, he only dropped one map during the actual offline event. He is far and away the best foreigner this year.
I feel like if he moved to Korea and focused solely on the GSL there is an outside chance that he could still make Blizzcon next year on the Korean side... probably in 8th palce. Neeb is pretty damn good but he's not Korean so a lot of people on TL refuse to believe it.

Close - 100% Bulgarian.
I’m glad to hear because he had a great year but he is not on the same level as innovation, rogue, stats.
