I love first contact films. I didn't love this one. Was kind of meh overall, didn't impress me much (especially that the main topic it raises has been done much better in books 25+ years ago) and Amy Adams felt seriously miscast. I didn't like her performance at all.

Went to the avant premiere here, very good movie, Kate Beckinsale as hot as always. I love this series, and i say this one is right up there with the first, its very good. Its not fighting at all times, they build up the hype really well, you feel the tension and the story is pretty fun althou at some points i felt like i needed to rewatch all the movies because there were parts i seriously didnt remember completely; but overall, really worth a shot

Allied - is good entertainment although if you have read books about true world war 2 espionage, it would not be believable.

Bridgette Fonda is an amazing actress and pure evil in this film. 9/10 One of the most evil scenes a female can be in + Show Spoiler + Fonda is breast feeding her new born baby as she outlines a ruthless plan of deception to the father of her child; the plan is highly detailed sophisticated way to thoroughly fuck over their family's best friend.. its just amazing stuff.

It really was everything Ep7 wasn't. Definitely the SW film I enjoyed the most since Ep5. Fantastic!

They decided to use character exposition instead of character development for this movie, which I felt was an interesting choice. The ending was also interesting, and a very good way to go out. Not something you expect from a Star Wars movie.

Cinematography was excellent, cast was great (what did you not like about her performance?) pacing was maybe a bit slow but at the same time faster pacing might have destroyed the whole atmosphere. Ofc books are able to dig deeper into themes, that's a bad point tbh. If i had to compare it to the other scifi movies of the last years this is definitely my favorite one (better than interstellar easily, even though it's hard to compare) 8/10

Genius It is about the lector of F. Scott Fitzgerald and Thomas Wolfe. Colin Firth and Jude Law dressing dapperly in the 1920(?) , what is not to like? Maybe the worst thing one could say about this film is that the world would have kept on turning if it wasn't made. It seems unimportant and forgettable, but it is done well and fans of the actors won't be disappointed. 6/10 Sing (2016) It is a comment on the casting show craze of the last decade and what "art" means in that context. It has humour. It is heart warming, it is as critical about the art/fame/money interactions as a children's film gets. I would have loved to spend some more time with the cast. The chameleon and the gorilla were awesome characters. Even the hedgehog seemed fun, but had disappointing songs. The more I think about the sow's storyline the darker the implications become... 7/10 Arrival Aliens land with twelve ships all across the globe, mankind tries to establish communication, it is a really microscopic plot idea I don't want to spoil. Scifi is my favourite genre and as I said, currently I really like all the films. It is cool to see Hawkeye in a more serious story, what a good actor. Really couldn't stand the female lead. I heard complains that the rhythm of this film is off, but that makes sense, considering the plot and I liked that unusual structure of storytelling. It is rather slow, so if you aren't the patient type you won't like this. It also does not have the quality of interstellar, which has this amazing payoff to it's slow start. This is just slow, calm, without any real highlights. I already suppressed the whitewashing, America saves the World, Commies are bad commentary of it, so it does not ruin this otherwise enticing picture. It is easy to suppress that, since we see it from the USA point of view and the media in the film is probably just reflecting the distorted media already present in the states. 9/10

I watched "the lobster" yesterday and liked it quite a lot. It is strange, it is weird but it also is a lot of fun if you are ok with a somewhat slow pace and unusual premise/atmosphere. The plot is basically about a guy having to find a new partner because his wife left him, otherwise he will be transformed into an animal. I don't really wanna spoil anything else, but it's basically a satire of some sorts. Not for everyone i think, but absolutely worth the try! 8/10

Obviously it's been nominated for a lot of stuff (14 Oscars actually, tied for a record most with Titanic + one other film), so I'm sure most of you have heard about. But it's an absolutely fantastic movie, possibly the best musical every written. If you're a logic/rational kind of person and not too into the genre, try this movie, you might really like it. By far the best movie I've seen in 2016, well worthy of every award it's receiving, a solid 9.75/10. It'll make you feel emotions you didn't even know you've had. It made to like and appreciate music that I've always disliked, it now brings tear to my eyes whenever I hear one particular song. My girlfriend had an "emotional reaction" for maybe 2 hours more after the movie ended. Of importance is make sure you're watching it in good quality, and not at 240p on the internet. Some beautiful audio and visuals that really add to the experience, as it's not a story-driven movie. Try to set no expectations and do no research about anything about the movie if you're going to watch it, and just forget everything I told you about the movie just now, I just said it to get you to watch it.

Moonlight won Best Picture but they gave the presenter Warren Beatty the card showing Emma Stone winning (Best Actress), so they thought it was La La Land. Yeah pretty funny. Especially because Emma Stone said she had her card the whole time :O

9/10 Whether or not you're an X-Men fan, this is the best X-Men movie yet made. Logan is a fucking badass at last. What a film. If you like films like The Wrestler or The Unforgiven this is a movie for you. Great acting and quietly effective character based storytelling as well as brilliant, and well earned, action scenes.
