Why do I write this post? A friend of mine asked me: "Regarding LOTV ... Is Liquipedia up to date?" I answered: "No. I am working on it though."
This is not entirely true, because a handful of ppl are working on it. But in my humble opinion, we need you ... we need more ppl.
Let's cut right to the chase ... if you click on
http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/Banshee_(Legacy_of_the_Void) or http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/Reaper_(Legacy_of_the_Void)
you will see ... exactly ... no text, no images ... nothing.
And I hope you want to help me and the staff to change it.
Poll: Do you want to help?(Vote): Yes (Vote): No (Vote): I do not know how .. (Vote): Other
I will help you!
Edititing a Wiki is not difficult.
What can I do for you? I will be online tonight between - London: 19:30 and 20:30 GMT - Berlin/Paris: 20:30 and 21:30 GMT+1 in Teamliquid-TS and Web-IRC
http://webchat.quakenet.org/?channels=#liquipedia
to answer question or help out with your first steps.
Who wrote this post? I am NeoBlade. I am no boss or staff member around here. I am a "Liquipedia Contributor" who wants to achieve one goal: Liquipedia should be the first site, you find, if you google "Reaper LOTV" or "Hatchery First LOTV". => We need content and ppl who keep on working.
To quote the famous Day[9] ...
The most important thing is to keep doing it. Don't try to hide in the shadows "carefully sculpting your craft." You have to iterate tons and tons and tons. Improve publically, not privately. Yes, playing the game and studying will help, but the best way to do anything is to just DO and not worry so much about it. I would love to help. I used to just go around updating players' twitter links haha, as well as some other small things. But I'd love to help more!
|
I'll play the shit out of LotV when it comes out, and if I enjoy the game and happen to be decent at it I'll be very happy to help. I'll be willing to help the strategy section as well if I'm able to do so.

The propaganda is REAL.
NJ though, inspiring attitude! If I get back into sc2 with LOTV I will consider this!

@ShambhalaWar: You could help today, because we do not need specific knowledge abouts strats or the LOTV-Meta-Game. We need ppl who start editing today.
Right now it is a lot of copy and paste. Simple edits like remove stuff or add a value (like "Speed").
Remember ...

There is no need to remove the speed in the infoboxes, for existing unit pages. They are listed here and were taken from the LotV beta: http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/Unit_Statistics_(Legacy_of_the_Void)
They generally correspond to 1.4 * the speed in HotS, except if the unit has been patched, or if the unit wasn't even in HotS. In the same way, the cooldown (weapon speed) in LotV is the (cooldown in HotS / 1.4), and the DPS in LotV is (DPS in HotS * 1.4). Every timing has been divided by 1.4, as well, like the building time for units/buildings, the upgrade research times, the cooldown of abilities, spells, etc.
As for the using the pages in my user space, I would have preferred if they had been moved instead of copy-pasted, as the history pages included a link to the original, like here: http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/index.php?title=User:ChapatiyaqPTSM/Roach_(Legacy_of_the_Void)&action=history That's not a big deal though, we can later add in the talk pages a link to the original.
I'm also still partial about having "work in progress" pages in the Main space. That's why I had kept the pages in my User space.

I understand, but a stub is better than no text at all.
I will teach them how to move a page and add a stub. Thanks for the input!

A stub is something missing information. These pages are containing wrong information. For example, in Legacy of the Void, the Armory doesn't have a "Vehicle and Ship Weapons Level 1" upgrade. There are two separate upgrades for Vehicles and Ships. http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/Armory_(Legacy_of_the_Void)
It's not too big of a deal, the pages can stay, now that they are made. But the User space is usually ideal for this. You get the page ready, then move to the Main space.

I hope somebody will notice and fix it.
I will use my holiday to take a look at all changes, fix some of the articles and make screenshots. I hope some ppl will help, since I want to work on strats/builds as well.
Regards, Neo

Is anyone supposed to "check" these articles? I added an article to try to get the ball rolling but I'm not sure what it means when it's "unchecked"
Yeah it's not strategy or anything but I guess some OCD part of me really wants to get the numbers for all the random campaign units down

Unchecked means that the page has not been reviewed yet, which means that the latest edit will be the one shown. that is to say until someone reviews the page, then it will only be the latest reviewed change that will be visible. So having a page be unchecked is not always a bad thing. Everyone can still see it and so on and so forth.
