Just because someone is introduced late and will almost definitely be defeated (or converted) soon does not make him fodder. Was Enel fodder just because he was introduced and defeated in one arc? I would hope not. Weeble has a 480 million bounty, he is smashing Whitebeard's old allied commanders, and he has been named to the Shichibukai. There are only 7 of those and all 7 are named big shots: Kuma, Doflamingo, Mihawk, Trafalgar Law, Boa Hancock, Buggy, and now Edward Weeble. No, Buggy is not fodder either. He's a doofus, but he's also a former Roger Pirate and one of very few people to actually defeat Luffy.
Weeble reminds me a little bit of Oars. He's got the body shape, the hair, the strength, and the simple-minded intelligence. It's possible that he's a very young member of the Oars line and that his "Momma" adopted him or stole him when he was a baby. He doesn't have the teeth, but those may have been altered along with his face (which would explain the scars around his neck).
This seems like one where Luffy will defeat him, but then convert him when Miss Bucking is exposed as a fraud. He'd make a good member of the Barto Club.
edit: Moria will be back when Luffy fights Kaido. Kaido is Moria's true enemy and he'll be able to provide some help to Luffy. Maybe he can use his shadows and make another shadow Luffy to help Luffy win the battle of strength. When did Buggy ever defeat Luffy?
|
Luffy never beat Buggy 1 on 1 btw, he needed Nami's help for that.
|
Buggy beats Luffy in the charisma stakes.
|
luffy almost had his head chopped off and was smiling at zoro and sanji while admitting defeat how is that not a defeat?

Can't wait for new chapter, the end of 802 is so hype
Those stitches on this fake WB son remind me of Moriah and this mum looks like the mr4 partner that mole lady lol. Something is not right with this new shichibukai and holyshit I hope Marco dont just get destroyed by this

Does it even matter if Weeble is WB's son? What character has strength that is inherited, don't they all need to develop strength on their own? Only monsters are naturally strong with some human exceptions like Bobby Funk and Weeble possibly, I'm sure Whitebeard while big didn't start out monstrously strong.
If Sanji really is a prince I wonder if it will be a very late loyalty arc. Nami, Usopp and Robin had their loyalty arc where they betrayed, left the crew or did both so what if it was the same for Sanji? Sanji's dream is all blue, but he sort of considered staying at Fishmen Island because of mermaids. As a prince Sanji could do whatever he wants, marry someone, cook all the time and have people search for All Blue for him.
I doubt a Sanji prince arc would go that way, more likely it's just an added enemy specifically seeking Sanji, but I would enjoy a loyalty arc even this late in the story.

i dont think a loyalty arc is possible this late into the series. at least not for the current members of the crew. theyve already gone through too much for luffy for their loyalty to be questioned. in sanji's case, he actually went through living hell for 2 years (we all know his one was the worst) for luffy, so thats the biggest show of loyalty you can get from him imo

what character has strength that was inherited? did you actually write that sentence? i hope you're not joking. you're reading a manga about humans being granted supernatural power through the consumption of fruits. the question you should be asking is, are there people who don't have supernatural powers?

To be strong one must look cool. Shonen rule, but loose in one piece. Come on guys, when you first saw blackbeard did you call his big baddie status? What about Kizaru, look really strong right? I think Weeble will be strong, my guess is Luffy level with no plot shield.

Using a magic item to get strength is not the same as getting strength through genetics. We haven't gotten the backstory of most of the strong characters, but did they start strong or were they once weak? When CP9 uses skywalk to literally walk on air or hardens their body to the strength of steel they had to train to do it. Was Mihawk born the strongest swordsman? Probably not, he likely trained to become the strongest and had some backstory we'll never know, the same with other strong characters even ones that rely on pure strength. Heck even DF users have to train or else they will be weak.

She probably got drunk and slept with a pirate. It explains his erratic behavior and lack of visual similarity to his dad.
|
How do you know his dad was weak? He was also a noble so he didn't even have any reason to train/fight.
There is plenty of evidence that strength is inherited in some cases but its not 100% and there are other factors (pretty much like the real world). Like Conquerers Haki has been implied to possibly be an inherited trait. Those with D in their name also might all be distantly related, and we all know that those guys tend to be very strong.

Like Conquerers Haki has been implied to possibly be an inherited trait. Those with D in their name also might all be distantly related, and we all know that those guys tend to be very strong. Sure the D's are special, but Luffy was very weak early on and had no special talent. His fighting strength pre-series was developed by training with Ace and Sabo plus the "training" with Garp and it wasn't even that special when the series starts. Nothing hinted at special D strength or being the son of Dragon till much later. Granted Luffy's lineage was supposed to be a secret, but Ace's strength as a child wasn't "oh he must be Roger or the son of someone strong" he was just an uppity brat beating up random pirates and poor people. The strength the three brothers develop did not seem dependent on their lineage which was my point about Weeble.
So what if Weeble is WB's son and slightly stronger than other kids it's the training and experiences that matter more in OP. If his strength is only because of birth it would be very rare for the series and possibly not dependent on lineage as it's just as believable that Brownbeard had a freakishly strong kid.
|
You do realize no one comes out of the womb fighting Admirals right? Every single person has to train and are not strong starting out....thats not what inheriting strength means lol. Its about genetic potential. You think every random person in the world would be as strong as Luffy/Ace if they were trained the same way?
|
It has more to do with their personalities and backstory than by genetic potential. All the strong characters with no backstory probably just come from random people then famous ones from the Admirals, to the Schibukai to Yonkou to Roger. Does Zoro have a strong genetic potential or did he just try really hard? What about Coby who was much weaker than average and now is on the way to be a future admiral? The personality and will which vary enough from person to person enough for anyone to have a strong will regardless of their parents I think is way more important then genetic potential.
Genes affect build and looks in One Piece, but we have small characters also being ridiculous strong muscle wise like Zoro. Weeble is a big dude because his genes, but unless he's a freak of birth he was just a big dude that trained which would be possible with any big parent.

some people just get stronger alot faster then other can
