I was a BW TvP expert, winning against top foreign players and even giving PvT specialists a run for their money on toss favored maps like Tau Cross. The most considerable difficulty was the 12 o'clock position on Python, ordinarily taking a second at 11, and the problems posed by Vulture harass. It isn't obvious what portion of the brain handles Protoss when old school split pushes drop Tanks to support mines; but the choke potential is extremely high. This was as much a problem on Python as anywhere, especially when the question was holding what were virtual islands against tanks mines and wraiths. Vultures are already pretty effective when micro'd properly, thinning out Protoss and preventing storm outside shuttles. When the possibility for island harass is added to regular cliff drop play against main expansions, the flexibility of a Terran army is greater than it ought to be; Protoss simply cannot contend with cheap raids and the kind of map dominance islands afford.
It is not uncommon for Protoss players to enter a state of panic when expansions start getting cut off. This kind of harass play pays major dividends for the Terran. Mines are effective in their usual capacity; but, when mines are employed with derisive tactics, the play itself becomes more cost efficient. Most Terran players were then driven to induce anxiety with their plays. It's straight-forward enough to build a missile turret for a push or at random for intercepts. This kind of play paid major dividends where Terran misplays were concerned. Anxiety usually leads to space creation and then a lull. The Protoss player willing to abuse these situations can layer his attacks, and easy wins follow from recall plays and Carriers when the Terran's ambition abates.
Fighting Spirit is one of those maps that should be out of the PvT map pool because the match up is necessarily less dynamic in enclosed third situations. In the long game and short, Fighting Spirit turns things into a boxing match. It doesn't provide an avenue for reasonable aggression, and the only realistic option for a Protoss is to push with a mid-game Reaver follow-up. This is not especially good etiquette because predictability is not something one wants in a Starcraft game. What players do and don't do makes a significant difference. In the same sense that Poker is not mathematical, any good strategy of incomplete information will have various tactics. Bluntly put, a good RTS cannot avail itself of maps that enforce decision procedures, because when they opt to narrow ranges, the capacity for unique play is diminished.

Also, on the overall point I concur.

Do you even play Brood War, bro?

It's something to smile about. Terran finally jumping at shadows. Hopefully the stats will show when I start watching proleague, again.

Don't see why Siege Tanks are 2 supply instead of 3 in BW. And revert SCV health to 45 like in SC2!. And 1 free mine per vulture please.

90% of it is in my head. There are moments, though. I was best at mirrors and probably got the majority of those.

Because it's critically important what random people on the internet think...I approve of the quote if your signature.

Economics is a retarded way to answer questions, that's all I'll say.

I want the full-length retard answer, if you may. I was just curious about a few things: who did you beat? Do you have any replays of your TvP? What was your highest rank on iccup or WGT?

^ Such a lazy fair agenda going on here

On python, timing pushes are very important. Gotta make them at the right time, and execute them very well. If you don't do a timing push, it's gonna be hard. You'll have to turtle like hell.
Drops and stuff are cute, but won't do much against good players.
