Nova was right on. Although he lost drones and overlords, mind had to sacrafice a lot of economy to open like he did. It probably came out with a VERY slight edge to mind, but also a large hole while he added rax and massed a mnm army. Jaedong exploited this perfectly. I am disappointed in mind's late bunkers though. But jaedong did an excellent job of denying scouting with the spire + scourge and then sneakily going lurk + mass ling.

I bet Jaedong is going to cheese in this game

Correct me if im wrong but i didnt see a 3hatch before pool.. i actually didnt see the 2nd nat to be taken. So thats an equal economy to 2hatch right?

that was too bad, mind should have been ready for that considering he had a wraith to scout with....
it's stupid when games end like that.

The thing that amazes me about Jaedong is he seems to somehow be able to do timing pushes / cool breaks like this while he's going for a bigger eco build than his opponent. He seems to be a master of the zerg flexibility to be all drones one moment and all units the next.

ya know muta > Mind also, lurker/ling > Mind
although I'm biased.

Try that again Mind, Jaedong dares you! :-) Watch he is going to go fact ---> 2 starport on Blue Storm. It is a very popular T strat on that map. It's probably a response to the popular strat of the amazingly aggressive muta harass into guardians that has become popular for ZvT in that map. 2 port is kind of required, because of the terrain around the nat.

Respect to Mind for preparing interesting builds.
I guess it's taste difference. For me, proxy factory + wraith tech opening is nowhere near being interesting, I can see it pulled off on any level. The fact that Mind failed to adapt his timing even after getting an advantage means that he sucks. If the player tries to do some 'cute' strategy while playing bad it, of course, is reasonable, but still disgusting to watch.

Pretty sure it was 3 hatch before pool. He hatched at his protected nat, then to the right of the geyser to get gas faster. I think the hatch by the gas was before the pool, but i might be remembering wrong.

Zerg cheese on a 2-player map that strongly favors Z>T?

It's not equal economy if you 3 hatch before pool you get several extra drones. Less than Mind killed, but it still cushioned the blow greatly. Considering that Mind neutered his own economy to fast tech, I don't think Jaedong was behind much at all after the vulture/wraith attack.

stream laggggs more than usual =[

3 hatch before pool at 2 bases is superior to 12 hatch pool 13 hatch at 2 bases because of your ridiculous larvae count.

Jaedong opened 12 hatch 11 pool 13 hatch. The camera just didnt show the pool until after the hatch had been started

I feel the same. On one hand I find typical ZvT slugfests epic in their own right, like Jaedong vs Iris and plenty others, but I like these twisted games that force players to play "off-timing" and pull out innovation for the win. It happened with Boxer and Ra and UpMagic a lot, maybe Mind's going to turn out like that.
Also in fairness to mind, you have to say kudos to Jaedong for bouncing back with an unorthodox counter attack.

I completely disagree with you, nothing disgusting about it
If Starcraft was always 20 minute FE into macro into Textbook Standard Solid Play it would be a much poorer game IMO, still great but...
The option and the threat of fakes, rushes, cheeses, proxies, mind games, fast techs, hidden techs, etc. makes the game SO much more interesting.
ZvT is a matchup that is already extremely standardized thanks to Savior/Oov the 3 hatch muta/rax FE builds totally dominate, the timings are all very well-known, its nice to see variety and different powerful builds that aren't so cookie cutter (even though I do like epic "straightup ZvT" games and there are tons of variations there also)
