And by quite a bit I mean quite a lot.
I'm not going to try to talk anyone here into playing the mod because I know better than that, instead I want to talk about EuroBow.
EuroBow is a monthly Starbow tournament that is played on the EU server and is open to everyone.
It features $35 prize for the winner and $15 for the runner up. Unless there's a donation from some generous guy. Like last time when it went to $70 and $30 respectively.
I probably would not have made this blog if not for this:
I'm not a really good player, I play Zerg, beat people I'm supposed to beat and very rarely manage to scrap away wins from players better than me. Be it with 9pool, 2hatch muta all-ins or hydra busts.
Yet out of 3 Eurobows that happened, 2 of which I participated in, I'm 1 of the 2 people who have reached semifinals more than once.
I got semis in EuroBow#1 by having people forget about it and then beating mderg.
I was too busy with other stuff and completely forgot I had signed up for EuroBow#2.
Then with #bracketluck and #PASSION I managed to once again beat mderg in the first round, then beat a Terran player who I don't think had an idea what he was doing and get to the semis only to lose to Franscar in a matchup he doesn't even play (he plays PvZ) in EuroBow#3.
Now, what I'm getting to is that EuroBow#4 is coming and even though probably nobody within Starbow community expects me to place highly because that amount of bracket luck is very unreasonable, I actually want to make the damn semis again.
I know I'm not nearly as good as some of the people already signed up (aside of actual progamers in Spear, Mamuri, Arthur and Beastyqt, there's quite a few high master players there), but damn did actually beating people in tournaments feel good? Hell yes it did and I want more of it.
I'm atm very concerned about my ZvZ as it's quite hard to practice when almost everybody racepicks and recently banes have been brought back and I feel really shaky in a matchup where 50 gas spent on bane nest instead of lair might mean game lost as well. I used to just go mass speed-ling and use buffed spores to fend off the mutas but with banes it's a different story... Quite frankly, I hope I just don't draw any zerg (which is funny because it used to my best matchup by far #fuckyoubanelings).
TL;DR this is in 5 days: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/sc2-tournaments/475511-eurobow-4-50-open-tournament
