CS:GO just updated, and Avast detected it as a virus and deleted csgo.exe >< Anyone had it happen ? http://www.reddit.com/r/GlobalOffensive/comments/2n9pt2/csgo_update_for_november_24_2014/ Everyone else seems to have that problem. Early guess on reddit is it's an update to VAC to be slightly more intrusive in order to detect cheats.

A bot like demonstrated here would be really strong in cs since the fights are often so short that there's no time to actually notice the tracking as much so really hard to notice if configured correctly.

- up to 30 international player could be cheating - hack remains undetected - flusha probably guilty - only a last minute vac update can lead to a cheat free dreamhack winter -.-

As far as I've understood, DHW is intentionally pretty quiet about their countermeasures at this point and are showing their hand only when it gets necessary. This is going to be interesting. I guess it's also possible that none of the interview stuff is true and in fact everyone is clean, but the LANs definitely do seem pretty unprepared for the stuff. For example it feels absurd that players have access to workshop if it allows dll modification. I'd like to think it's better safe rather than sorry if you're running a $250k tournament.

How would this even work? Wireless connection to the PC?

Yeah, I think it assumes you have some kind of exploitable connection to the PC, one way or the other. If you actually have a loophole, it's probably quite possible to generate or receive adjusted versions of the cheat files pretty much on the fly.
