Art History majors are renowned for being the drop-outs of every other scholarly program and being perceived as completely unskilled in the job market. Essentially, they are "studying nothing of use." So putting "The Study of Everything" is a sarcastic jab at the major. X-D Maybe it helped that I went to a strictly technical university, where the most liberal arts of majors we have are the (unemployed) English, History, and Psychology folks. I dunno. Oblig.:

Oblig.: + Show Spoiler + Except Art History *is* the study of everything. The problem with Art History is its lack of focus as they do have to discuss everything from structural engineering, chemistry, materials manufacturing, history, art, etc... Get a Most of the upper classes doctorates of Art History requires biochemistry as well as physics with the problem being that you end up with a PhD in bachelors level science classes. But I wouldn't say its a joke to call it the study of everything when that is a pretty accurate description of both the subject matter, and its problem. Most humanities majors I know end up being lawyers and politicians, the only thing Engineering degrees does is allow lazy students to still have jobs.
