Still love you though. see: Yugioh Congrats to ROOT and SuperNova! Root4ROOT :D There is not a single korean that performed well in ROOT, and even very few foreigners that do well in the NA scene. The only one I think of is MaSa, and he doesn't even play sc2 full time now. Every player that goes to ROOT is destined to slowly become irrelevent. We're not talking about EG here. HEH. Sage, YuGiHo. nuff said. Want more ? PucK leaves Root ? become one of the best NA protoss. Kane leaves Root ? One of the best NA zerg. ToD leaves Root ? Becomes relevent again. Same goes for qxc or State. Really every players that was Root has either retire or leave the team for becoming stronger again. Even Major, alll of his feats were outside of Root. You must inform Supernova of this supernatural phenomenon at once. How about just poor management and training atmosphere ? I'm not saying SuNo willl do bad, I'm saying it's not the best for him, at all.

This is fantastic news. Supernova has always been one of my favourite players, and Root one of my favourite teams.
Congratz Supernova
Congratz Root

SuperNova joins ROOT and leaves CodeS to go full NA...
|
That's great news! I'm hoping they support him and send him to lots of tournaments. One of the rare players with a unique play style that's actually successful.

The bigger question is... WHY HASN'T LIQUID SIGNED HIM?
SuperNoVa was living with HuK and Jinro in the oGs house since 2010 and in their own apartment in 2012 prior to EG-TL in Proleague, and he had been teamless for months in the time between oGs and Azubu and between Azubu and now.
Do Liquid not want to boost their ailing roster of Terrans and sign a consistent Code S quality player?
|
This is great. Good to have some good news today.
... and on that note. I don't suppose ROOT have enough money left to sign all of IM do you? Imagine having Kang in the ROOT house putting you all in shape. Would be awesome.

Sad at the end of the day ROOT hasn't signed a GSL code S player, I was really cheering for him. Maybe NA scene will enjoy another great Terran player in 2015 WCS.

How does a roster that has Taeja and Bunny in it make for an ailing roster?
Did Taeja not win enough tournies this summer? Should he have won WCS NA as well?

What's the worst thing that could happen? SuNo underperforms but still gets a paycheck every month? Doesn't sound that bad to me.
He didn't get into Code S, so what would he be doing stuck in Korea anyway? Playing ladder for zero dollars? If you don't think that's a recipe for dead SC2 careers, I think you're being absurdly optimistic.

Seriously, this guy is one of the best terran in the world since 2010. There is almost no terran from 2010 that are still relevent beside him. He's been without a team for half a year. I don't get how team leaders aren't interested in him. If I was manager of a big team, he would be on the top of my list for potentiall recruitment.
Don't get me wrong, I'm happy he got a team, I prefer that way more than retirement, but it's sad that he had to go so low for surviving. SuNo is probably the most underrated player ever.
And at least root isn't some random team that comes up with huge budget and disappear after 3 months.

^^ Hard to imagine that Root is flying him around first class, but good to see Supernova get the support he deserves.

Hoooooly crap that's exciting

The guy's been on KT->Woongjin->oGs->mTw->Azubu->Root within 4 years now

It's highly unlikely ROOT is paying any of their players money. They have zero financial sponsors and they don't exactly "put" their players out their when you compare them to EG or Liquid. Expect a "fundraiser" drive within the next few months for next years rent/bills.

best pickup of 2014 hands down!!!

I agree that SuNo is super underrated but looking at the player market in Korea it isn't surprising to me that he decided on ROOT over some smaller/sketchier sponsor/team. SuNo isn't going to get picked up by a KeSPA because he has military very close. ESF is not around anymore, ST is the only valid option but they aren't really in a situation to be giving out contracts. I don't think many foreign teams were clamoring for his contract since he is a relatively unpopular player in the foreign scene because he doesn't get out of Korea much. I also think he wanted to stay in Korea (travel once in a while not stay overseas like MC), otherwise he definitely would've had more chances or tried his hand at MC's house. Looking at how the WCS America CHAMPION (Pigbaby) is currently teamless. As well as Dear (WCS 2013 Season 3 Champion). As well as viOLet and legends like Mvp and Nestea. I guess hard region lock fanatics got their wish, slow death of Korean Sc2.

Cool to see Supernova back on Root again.
