Those Rain Drops
By 3FFA
Those rain drops
fall upon the children,
filling them with glee.
As beautiful as rainbows
kissing their cheeks.
Those rain drops,
throughout time, fill children with awe.
They pour down,
with brand new tastes,
and musical sounds.
Those rain drops,
carrying cheer to the children,
create emotions of joy and happiness,
day after day,
until suddenly, gone.
Those rain drops
give way to a bright sky.
just as children give way to a bright future,
always full of wonder.

And a short NSA Satire Essay I wrote:
Nothing could be easier to understand than the need for information. In fact, we are all collecting information. However, when we finish collecting data from one area we need more to verify the trustworthiness of the information. It is only logical that to do this effectively the National Security Agency(NSA) should just spy on everyone, everywhere, doing everything. Now, as this is an issue of national security, the freedom of the American people will have to take a backseat. All we do is collect data which is never acted on unless a threat to national security is noticed. As you can see, safeguarding your rights is our first priority.
Clearly, this is a fantastic way to protect citizens. You may consider yourself targeted due to your race or ethnicity but make no mistake; The NSA seeks only to secure your safety. I propose a simple solution. Insert chips into everyone’s neck that track their bodily functions as well as their location. These would be required of all citizens as well as all persons entering or exiting the United States borders. Thus, we could further focus on the limitless information received from citizens rather than concealing our actions from the people. Of course, the only reason to be against your privacy being explicitly violated is if you have something to hide. What other reason could there be?
Secondly, while I believe this guaranteed security is marvelous I am aware of those that are still against it. Arguments of this being illegal are completely false, trust me. Some of you propose a complete dismantlement of the organization. This would cut off the government from monitoring everyone’s everyday lives. This is nothing if not preposterous! In fact, I would go so far as to call anyone that objects to government surveillance of their everyday lives naive and ignorant. How could anyone not feel perfectly safe with the NSA tracking their every move?
Furthermore, the very idea of demolishing everything the NSA has worked for is unbelievable! There is no case to be made for wasting all the intel we have worked so hard for. It is not like we have been having little to no direct effect on preventing terrorist attacks. There also is no basis to be made on us having violated anyone’s constitutional rights. Throughout our time sheltering citizens from terrorists we have only gained more credibility, as has our government. After all, without the NSA how else is the government supposed to know whether or not you are a terrorist?
Personally, I have no reason to fear the NSA. All they do is ensure our families' safety from terrorists. They may see all my emails and text messages but I have nothing to hide. Why should I be against them when all they do is establish exceptional levels of security? We may all sleep safe tonight knowing that they are always watching over us.
