Didn't know Blizzard was thinking about removing seasonal and grand finals. The thing with Season finals is, it allows ppl from different regions to watch the best starcraft there is. I can't watch WCS AM and WCS KR myself because I'm working, it's always too late or too early for me. Always checking liquidpedia if my idols have won their games. Season finals allows me to watch combined regions playing against each other atleast every 1/3 of the time. If they decide to get rid of season finals I hope they leave grand finals untouched, waiting blizzcon like no tomorrow. One event per year wouldnt make that much difference if I stayed awake whole night or early morning. I know there's always VOD's, but you know how it is, it just doesnt feel same than live event.

Didn't know Blizzard was thinking about removing seasonal and grand finals. From their earlier Q&A, it sounded like they were going to encourage other international tournaments to fill the role of the season finals: The seasonal grand slams received a lot of criticism for negating the storylines built up over the course of the season in each individual region. Will they be continuing in their current form? We think the season finals are exciting to watch and have a different story from the regional finals, but we agree that it would be good to give more attention to each of the individual regions. We have decided that the season finals will not be continuing in their current form and we’re looking to change how they work in 2014. By taking away the season finals from each season, we hope to give more significance to each of the individual regional finals and global tiered events. We think the international moments from season finals could potentially be substituted by creating more opportunities for other major tournaments participating in the WCS point system. We hope to provide a greater spotlight and give more importance to the major tournaments such as DreamHack, IEM, and Red Bull Battle Grounds. If Blizzard increased the wcs point pools of one or more of these tournaments at the end of each season, asked the tournament to give WCS-points based seeds (ala IEM), and then paid for flights for said seeds, they'd fill the role of the season finals in terms of the tournament structure.

Technically these guys should be the tournaments.
