It just occurred to me that there is a "new generation" of Starcraft 2 players who joined with Heart of the Swarm would have never really seen an Archon Toilet. (Unless they are history buffs)
Let me enlighten you younglings on one of the cooler (and controversial) battle tactics of SC2.
The "Archon Toilet" (as dubbed I think by Day9, I'm sure someone can correct me) - was a strategy that involved using a now-removed skill on the Protoss Mothership called "Vortex" combined with the large splash damage of Archons. It was almost exclusive to PvZ, and in some ways one of the only possible chances a Protoss had to defeat late game Zerg armies of Broodlord/Infestor. The mechanics of it were:
> Vortex a large clumped up Zerg army
> Send Archons into the spinning "toilet" (or prepare some Templar with Psionic Storm off to the side)
> "Flush" the toilet as your Archons(or storm) proceed to annihilate the Zerg bio blob that pops out of the Vortex.
In patch 1.3.0 Blizzard added in a 1.5 second invulnerability period for units exiting the Vortex; but it didn't really make much of a difference.
Here's one of the greatest games from IPL featuring EG.Stephano and KiWiKaKi where KiwiKaki showed one way to skin the Zerg cat:
Here's another version of the toilet, though this was more of a "storm toilet" from KiwiKaki
And we cannot forget... one of the greatest Archon Toilets and possibly one of the greatest ever moments in SC2WoL... GSL Code S Finals... MVP vs Squirtle.
If anyone new to the game has questions about the "Archon Toilet" feel free to post!
