IdrA not enjoying the game is a problem they probably couldn't fix, but his actions are a result of poor management. Had IdrA know those comments would have got him fired he wouldn't have made them, had he been in a better place mentally he plays those games vs Polt out and life goes on. Uhhhhhnnnn I don't know if that's fair. They warned IdrA plenty of times. And honestly, most employers don't give ultimatums — which is what you or IdrA is suggesting would be fair. EG is not his parents. They're not going to say, "Do this, or else!" Employers shouldn't have to blackmail their employees into doing their job. If you're the kind of person that waits around for someone to give them an ultimatum before choosing to take your job seriously, than you probably don't deserve or want that job in the first place. There's a long line of really talented players out there that would happily take IdrA's place, and you wouldn't even have to tell them that what IdrA did was wrong.

I have a job, I know what is and isn't acceptable to say to customers, clients or anyone else while I represent my employers, IdrA didn't seemingly have any clue (as he said as much in the interview)... EG not making there players aware of boundaries seems like a pretty large error on there part. I'm not defending IdrA and I'm not a fan of his at all, but this was a seemingly inevitable event helped in no small way by the mismanagement of EG

In the end he said as much as it was not a big deal - as usual. That's also why he was rather surprised of getting the ax. It just seems somewhere on the way of becoming a progamer he lost his manners. As someone very dependent on sponsors you would think he knew better. Let's see where he goes from here, I actually see him casting for MLG as god knows they really need some premier casters.

I understand people are being sad that Idra decided not to compete anymore but I for one am really looking forward to see him casting. He IS very good at it and his style is a refreshing change to the, well, louder alternatives.. It is good to see that he understands and agrees with EG's decision however I do get the impression that he's quite egocentric and doesn't hold himself to the same standards he holds others to but that doesn't necessarily make him a bad person of course. And I can't be sure about that anyway because, you see, I don't know him at all. Never met him. So benefit of the doubt is applicable.

The question "why didnt you gg then?" raises the issue that either (a) his explanation is an after the fact rationalize and he really was tilted, and so the game wasnt lost, which then gives a stronger bite to the interview in general. or (b) he thought that polt was "cheesing" somehow, because Idra has gg-ed in every major tournament before this or (c) he views all competition on par with ladder (which then raises the legitimacy of giving him an invite by MLG over someone like Demuslim, no matter what their rationalization based on points is.) But JP gave a reasonable explanation why he wasnt able to do so, and thats too bad (its a shame that someone as naturally talented at this as JP doesnt get more resources behind him). its amazing how much you are overthinking this.

I suggest you re-watch it, cause he never said it wasn't fair. He said he didn't expect it because there was no prior warning. That's all.

One question I thought was missing though, is how his dislike of the game will affect his future involvement in the scene. It seem a bit weird he'll continue to devote his full time to stream, play fan games and commentate a game he dislike. At least that would be something I'd like to hear him speak to.
