I'll admit it will help more foreigners stay in the scene and be relevant if they can sustain themselves with money beating other foreigners. I just don't think it will be conducive to actually raising the skill level of foreigners.

But MLG has the aspiration to be one of the biggest, most prestigious, highest price money, most stream viewers tournaments in the world. And that simply wouldn't fly without the best players. This is such a stupid argument I've seen so many people make. The only way you grow non-korean esports scene is incentivizing non-korean esports competitors. If you make north america and europe into arbitrary minor leagues you won't see any growth.

Also says polt is getting 3k/month from cooler master. Other interesting things too if you keep reading farther back into his post history. The funniest thing though is he says he wants to keep his identity hidden, but doesn't really do things to keep it hidden since he cites specific examples of meeting people and stuff. Such as a time at work when he said one of his co-workers asked him if he was leaking things and then he said he was forced to lie and told people to stop posting his stuff on tl/reddit. Well then all it would take is for that co-worker to read that post and put two and two together. Very interesting read, he seems to have had a quite a few things right in the last 3 months. Unfortunately now that you posted his account on here I imagine that he wont be so active.

There is League in Spain, Germany, France, England, Poland etc. But still players are not ONLY from the respective countries right?

For what people are saying you can play in whatever region you want, but can't switch between regions during the season. Might have a residency clause in there somewhere.

Both will have three Starleagues a year, the same as it was when it was MSL and OSL. Blizzard will pay OGN and GOM about 2 million a year for working together. GSL champion gets seeded into the next OSL season. Same with OSL and GSL. Reason why the foreigners in Korea are mad is because they are going to can GSTL after this season and Axiom-Acer isn't making the cut for the new Proleague coming in the fall. Startale, IM, MVP, and FXO will go to Proleague 100%. Dunno about Prime. HoSeo and Axiom-Acer not invited. I talked to a few people close/in Blizzard and they want to go the Riot route. Have everything more connected. Instead of 40 tournaments and 600 different organizations, they want to have more regional play and to crown an actual world champion at the end of the year. Basically a better version of WCS that takes into count big regional tournaments and the finals being played in a big stadium. Take this with a grain of salt, but I heard through the grapevine that Red Bull might pay Life $200,000 a year to stay with ST. They also might change their name to Red Bull or Red Bull Stars. If that's true, Then it's good news imho. If that's true, that's bye-bye Prime and Hoseo Might as well be absorbed by the other teams and get zenex'ed

I think making a big announcement of it means that it should at least be significant. I expect no less.

I don't see SC2 ever becoming what LoL is in Korea right now. I just think that they need to pull something else out of the hat if they want SC2 to succeed. A real foreign league (not tournament, league) has never been done before. I dunno, just something, something to bring the eSports fandom further without dumping it where it's not really wanted. I would just like to stroke my e-peen and say I was kinda a little bit on the fringe of being right.

Imagine smaller national leagues. Then once a year a "World Cup" in which all the highest/best players from around the world meet up in an international tournament. Much like the football World Cup (soccer) you would have qualifiers, even a team event 2v2 etc.. I think it would be pretty cool. If it was in Korea I'd probably fly from Australia for it too.

This just appears on FOMOS's front page. http://fomos.kr/board/board.php?mode=read&keyno=131151&db=issue The news basically confirms TorteDeLini's information about the individual leagues. There will be GSL and OSL, and the results in two leagues are going to be counted as points toward WCS at Blizzcon. But in this news, there are more information about the team leagues. It says: "Many people were worried that Blizzard focuses too much on individual league but abandons the team league. And people have expressed concerns that Blizzard left out KESPA, especially SPL. Blizzard responds that first the amount of the money being paid to the Korean related parties is incorrect; second, the negotiation is among Blizzard, OGN, GOMTV, KESPA. No one is left out. All parties have made compromises in order to produce more entertaining leagues. Some of the reports are simply wrong because if team leagues are left out, the negotiation will not reach a final term. 'We are negotiating with the relevant parties of GSTL and SPL. I hope people don't misunderstand again, everything will be on April 3rd.'" Translated based on Chinese translation.
