Jared "PiG" Krensel is an Australian Zerg player living in Sydney. His first memories of hearing about Starcraft was when he flew Korean Airlines and watched a Starcraft channel on TV. Seeing a computer game being televised opened his eyes to another world of competitive sports - eSports!
He played WarCraft II casually before preordering Starcraft 2. Realising he was pretty good at the game and was pouring more and more time into getting better at it, PiG made the tough decision to put his university studies on hold to pursue a Starcraft career. And boy did it not pay off!
Since playing full time from mid-2011 PiG has shot to the top of the Australian/SEA scene with the likes of players such as mOOnGLade and tgun. He was picked up by Tt eSports a few months later and is their sole player. He also coaches to support his Starcraft career and is recognised as the most successful and popular coach in SEA.
PiG considers his breakout tournament to be his third place finish in the Australian WCG National Finals in October 2011. Since then he has gone on to qualify for IEM Guangzhou (2011), IEM Cologne (Aug 2012) and IEM Singapore (Nov 2012), as well as IeSF (Oct 2012). He finally broke his third place curse to take the ACL Melbourne crown in July 2012. He was also crowned the WCS Australian champion in August 2012.
In February 2013 PiG announced through a series of entertaining announcement videos that he had joined Team Exile5. x5 is notable for their Battlefield, COD and LOL teams and had just started taking steps into the Starcraft 2 scene. A few months later, PiG flew half way across the globe to participate at DreamHack Summer 2013 where he turned a couple headsd for progressing further than many people expected. PiG made it to the third group stage and was one game away from making it to the top 16.

DreamHack Summer 2013!
PiG's DHS announcement video
DreamHack is known for being one of the biggest LANs in the world. PiG flew over with hopes of making it far. He came scarily close to making the top 16 bracket and the final day of DreamHack. The game three against ToD went back and forth. At one point PiG looked a certainty to win but failing to react properly to DTs cost him the game. His last chance to make top 16 was to win against Life. Although PiG tried his heart out, he could only manage to win one game.
PiG came 17th to 24th overall, which makes it his most successful international outing to date.

PiG's performance at IEM Singapore!
PiG started off his IEM group stage by playing compatriot Mafia, going down 1-2. His next opponent, Vortix, seemed even more formidable but PiG made a comeback, taking Vortix down 2-1. At 1-1 in group stages PiG had already outperformed his other IEM appearances! His next series was against MC, the favourite to win the tournament. Although PiG could not manage to win he did take 1 game off him, the only player to do so in Group A. When PiG took down Yekke 2-0 he needed only one more set to go through to the Playoffs the next day. In his way stood HasuObs, who was originally at IEM to cast but eventually replaced dKiller when he pulled out. Unfortunately PiG could not match the Protoss pro and went down to him 0-2.
PiG finished 2-3 with a map score of 6-7. Had we won 2-0 over Hasu he would have finished second in Group A. Had it been 2-1 he would have edged Hasu out to take third. So close yet still so far. Bad luck, PiG. Good luck next time!
