My name is Jae "Sic" Kim and I am a 20 year old in college that lived in the Chicago till a month ago. After MLG Summer, I am taking time off of college and moved to Korea with the intention of either going fulltime pro or doing my military service. Currently I am a top 300-400 masters on KR server, and a member of clan MvP, leaning towards going pro.
Ever since I was little kid, I always had a passion for games like Go and Chess. This carried over when I started playing more seriously in August 2011, and I quickly realized that I had never been so passionate about anything until SC2. However, I was still indecisive about whether or not I should seriously pursue this game. And then, a single tournament match made up my mind. I played vs viOLet in ro2 of a playhem. Excited that I was playing vs a pro, I used an unconventional muta ling style in zvz that made the game last 25 minutes, ending with me tapping out at my 55 to his 65 supply. The loss was much sweeter than bitter, and strengthened my resolve to pursue this game. For an amateur like me, playing such a close game vs a Korean player in America meant so much, even if it was just a bo1.
Over the 9 month period after that match, I worked myself up from Low Masters to top 5 masters in the NA server at the end of season 7. I also went 12-2 for the UIUC CSL team, participated in 2 MLGs and 2 invite-only qualifiers, and have been a member of 3 semi-pro teams (Area 51, Visionary Gaming, and Monomaniac e-sports). Currently I am a top 300-400 masters on KR server, and a member of clan MvP. My goal is to become GM/top 100 masters on KR server, and will be looking for other opportunities to get my name out there during the progress.
