Sam's had a few and is doing the American sobriety test in the living room of the hostel. He's not doing well. Soon I'm guessing he'll be making somewhat regrettable advances with the lovely French girls next to us.
We just had spontaneous Korean delicacies (intestines, meat, liver, tripe) all cooked on a hot plate in front of us. Oh and soju :D:D:D. I blame what few spelling mistakes I'll make in this post on that. But WHATEVER WE WENT TO THE GSL WOOOOOOOOOOOO
So the matches today were MC, Supernova, Sniper and Ganzi. We made significant eye contact with some white guys on the train to Sinjeong (closest station to GOMTV studios), so I asked them "GSL?". They immediately grinned and said "Oui, yes!". They were, of course, frenchmen, so we talked for a while as we walked to the studio. They were bankers from Paris, randomly in Seoul to sightsee and watch starcraft. Pretty cool.
Set 1 was Supernova vs Sniper. Game 1 Supernova got way ahead with a sick hellion stim timing, then wasted it with multiple overextensions into well upgraded ling/bane/infestor. He then took the next two games, one with a hard contain into bunkering outside Sniper's third on Daybreak. Disgusting.
Ganzi smashed MC with excellent drop play. Those games were probably my favourite, even though I play zerg. Sam was amazed that a terran beat a protoss once both storm and extended thermal lance were both finished upgrading. Protoss hater through and through. I went out to get an incredibly spicy chicken-thing-on-a-stick (trust me, I can take my chili. this was 9/10 chilli) during the TvTs which Supernova won pretty convincingly. When Supernova won he left immediately (since he was through to the ro16). I was sitting in the GOM lobby, red in the face from chili and sipping on the HotSixixixix the lovely GSL sympathetic receptionist lady gave me, when he came out. I called out "Supernova! Fighting!" as he went downstairs, and he turned and said "Thank you!" in pretty decent english. I was going to ask him to say hello to TLO, since they live in the same house now in Incheon, but I forgot because of the steady corrosion occuring inside my mouth due to the chicken.
MC vs Sniper was a pretty textbook disabling of Zerg in general with two-base blink stalker pushes. Disgusting. We then had a far wait while the cast finished after the games, then Nick and Dan changed their shirts to take photos with the ~12 or so foreigners there including me and Sam. They were pretty friendly; I'd imagine they do similar things regularly since a lot of foreigners come through to watch the GSL nowadays. We had a little small talk; they had previously gotten excited about our epic "Sydney Collegiate Starcraft" cheerful/sign during game 1 of Supernova/Sniper. Tastless expressed interest in visiting Australia. Sam was laughing at his "Ganzi Mechs Artosis Hard" joke. It was 7/10 funnies.
Then we waited about 10 minutes for MC to finish his winner's interview, which felt like an eternity. THEN we got first photo and signature :D:D:D:D:D:D
Marineking's games tomorrow!
