Holy crap this comment is about 40 times crazier than the OP. I didn't know fanboyism ran this deep in SC2.
The OP made an legitimate point. Getting featured on TL gives a streamer a distinct economic advantage in that they get a lot more publicity and viewers. As such, I always feel like the only the top players should be featured. Then again, streams of 2v2 by ProTech is featured...so are random C+ level BW streams. Maybe TL just needs to be more consistent with their listings...

I told you, megumixbear got unfeatured for the lack of archievments, she is prolly better than destiny, she does no smacktalk, she always to provide to the stream
I know some poeple think ebaumsworld is funny, and the page gets alot of viewers too, so gets destiny, but the question is, is it really necessary to have him officall featured on TL?
btw:
None of the sides would lose anything, destiny already has his fanbase and TL is the God of Sc2 Streaming anyways. I say unfeature him!
|
The argument would be whether to change Destiny to the "other" part of the featured section, not to actually unfeature him. Due to his showmatch results, gm placement and massive fan base I feel like it's completely different from megumixbear. Well his performance has been a bit mediocre in MLG's, but some of his other results say otherwise about his skill level.
I agree that Everize is completely underrated, but as an NA pro it is insanely hard to become featured. It was one of my complaints a long time ago when Col.rsvp was not featured on TL. (Dunno if he quit or where he's at, I loved watching his stream). Eventually he got featured, but being as high as rsvp was and unfeatured sucks for NA players in general.
Guess we need to step it up, which I plan to do after my last final tomorrow! Play some sc2 finally and wreck some California universities in CSL.
Destiny should stay featured.

UnFeature Destiny! UnFeature Destiny!
To the pitchforks everyone.... !

I haven't watched Destiny in a while. When I did; I was always enjoying the stream and his rants and raves.
He, is a good player and frankly bashing someone like this, is quite the sad thing to do.
So, what if he doesn't have the absolute best top16 results and such, he plays well is entertaining and brings in viewers.
You could say that Kawaii plays OsU on his stream as well, which is a warm up but still it is not just SC2. Same as ProTech and CS (when inbetween game due to high que time an dwaiting. ) Both of them are favorite players of mine. So no hating going on here.
Your little argument well yea, its somewhat valid, but the guy IS a Progammer, IS Good at it, DOES have decent views and can back up what he says logically in a discussion 9/10 times. If you ever spent time watching his stream you would know this and not just flick off due to something stupid like random LoL play (which I can understand everyone needs a break) plus that, helps GROW e-sports too.
It isn't SC2 Vs the Rest of Gaming, thats the stance your taking here, which is wrong. E-Sports in general are any game which is played on a competative level. While you may not LIKE LoL or DotA, or CS, Half-Life. They are PART of what we are growing here, not just the SC2 Community in a relative sphere all our own.
We are GROWING our brand. Which is E-Sports, so exposure to other games is acceptable and understandable to a point even if it is a SC2 Pro playing them from time to time. It still Grants Exposure, and if someone sees he is playing LoL as an LoL player, and then he switches to SC2 and they stay on the stream to see whats going on there? GOOD! Thats GOOD for E-Sports and it's growth.
So, F off with your Un-Feature Bullshit till you actually put some thought into what E-Sports is and how Everything involved is relative.
Yea sure, negative comments, and some racial crap can happen from time to time as it is part of our venacular in Gamer Speak, yet that also gives a player personality to a point. While I can understand why such words should not be said due to reasons of course. We as gamers call eachother f-----t, n----r, say oh I r--e that. Yes, they are bad words; but in our context are different. You wish to say someone should be de-featured for that? Yea sure they should limite the use of them, but frankly it is part of gamer venacular as I said.
Even if Destinys stream is NOT about E-Sports itself, it has its implecations on the state of it. It DOES help grow things in it's own way, as personality grows story and background of a person, think about a pro sports player. They have story and background.
Would it be better if everyone played in silence and did not interact with the community? No, that would be rediculious and disinteresting for anyone who was watching (Though I do watch silent players and such, such as Nada, ForGG) but; they show amazing games on ladder and as far as I know are not the best with english, which I am sure is the main audiance they recieve.
Either way, Destiny should remain featured due to his achiements and ability, as well as veiwership as even if his stream is not 'FOR' E-Sports, he is helping to grow it, even if indirectly.

retard, there are many other featured streamers that have achieved less than destiny - in all categories, whether it be tournaments or contributions to the community. your just a retard attention seeking whore who chose destiny because he has a big fan base, and felt he would be the perfect victim to provoke extensive arguing... well done bro! god you're so dumb

So to sum it up your saying he should be unfeatured because....... 1)lack of achievements in SC2 2)he plays LoL at times and his viewers watch it? 3)his fanbase doesn't meet your standards or in your words("quite terded fanbase")
1) hes on team Quantic Gaming and ive seen him play in and win his matches in many clanwars and regularly gives lessons on his stream to many people and lets his 3k-5k viewers watch and try and take something from the lessons. 2)Several people play LoL on streams and if you look oh hey theres a LoL section on team liquid and i've never seen destiny tell people they have to stay and watch him play league kind of anyones choice 3)Im sorry you come from an environment were there are no trolls everyone loves each other and has brilliant IQs but if you don't like his fans then you have no obligation to come in contact with them.
P.S. Seems like someones a hater

All I'm hearing is "stop watching what I dont like".
I think maybe you shouldnt pretend as if you're talking for the TL staff by pretending to know what they want more than they do.

plz stop stop comparing his stream to ebaumsworld, it just makes you look like you're living in 2002

People are going to watch the streamers they like, even if they're less-skilled than other streamers. It's all about the entertainment value. Destiny's content is a lot more entertaining than the majority of the other streamers out there. Looking at the sidebar right now, the only person I would even bother watching right now, besides Destiny(even though he is playing League of Legends) is forGG.

Just a quick rundown of the players who are featured that Destiny is arguably better then, note I said arguably not definitely lol.... EGIncontrol, LiquidNony, MillDragon, EGLzGamer, ColDrewbie, ColCatz, desrow, Major, EGMachine, Spanishiwa, Quantic Flo, TT1... Now of course you could argue a few of these players and I didn't do extensive research besides watching streams most days and following the community, the point is if you unfeature Destiny you should unfeature all of these players as well because they don't have any recent results... Of course you shouldn't unfeature any of these players because guess what, they all have fan bases that like to watch them play

I don't think thats a correct analogy... A professional player may also get a lot of viewers. Your analogy is lacking. It is like the analogy of a penguin is black and white. A tv is black and white. Therefore a penguin is a tv. Yes viewers on the featured streams do matter because they show the players that people want to watch. Its what the masses want. They are looking for some quality games, but that don't eactly have to be at the MvPDrG or MKP level, but entertaining enough.

Thousands of TL.net visitors choose to watch destiny's stream every day. I don't think its going anywhere.

qiseaux, you'Re brainer, the forum is actually moderated isn't it? Sometimes I'm a troll myself, but believe if I would turn into DEstiny-Mode and page on this forum believe me I would be banned until the end of ages.
Anyways this "same analogy" thing is a really lowIQ argument that Destiny loves to use, I guess you're an dedicated viewer biguP

i don't watch destiny, i don't care if he gets unfeatured or not, i just enjoy calling a retard a retard when i see one. there are a number of featured streams that are of much less calibre than destiny (i think anyway - i dont even think destiny is that good) i.e desrow (averages what 300 viewers?) attero protech
i dont watch streams often enough but im sure there are much more. the only person i actually get excited about watching is stephano. i dont even play sc2 anymore..
EDIT: the guy above me noted like 20 people so read that, ya dumb noob Re-Edit: megamix never even made it to grandmasters? you like her coz shes a chick? k nerd

didnt she get unfeatured because she played with a hacker? sorcery.

I believe all LoL streams should be unfeatured along with dota2. I dont understand how one of the best players in HoN (angrytestie) that has 2k+ viewers isn't featured on the main page but some no name LoL players with 20 are..

This is honestly one of the dumbest arguments I have ever seen in my life. Firstly, to claim Destiny has no accomplishments but is still featured is so stupid it gives me a headache. There are plenty of streams that are featured on TL that showcase players that have done very little in their careers, but are featured because of their progamer status and their being a member of a prominent team.
Secondly, how in god's name does it make any sense that somebody who plays League of Legends is "taking people with him"? As if you have no choice but to watch Destiny and only Destiny, and that there aren't always plenty of progaming streams featured on TL, especially Zergs. Honestly, your thread is literally just you crying because you don't like somebody and you don't want anybody else to like him either. Grow up.
