K Love and the Wolves need more love. Who says tanking hasn't helped that franchise?

I'm so mad at you >_< So after having a fabulous draft history of Corey Brewer, Chris Richard, Kevin Love, Nikola Pekovic, Ricky Rubio, Jonny Flynn, Ty Lawson, Wayne Ellington, Wesley Johnson and Derrick Williams the Timberwolves are....................one game over .500. Is a team built around Ricky Rubio, Kevin Love, Nikola Pekovic and one of Beasley/Williams really going to compete for a championship? Or even a Western Conference Finals? To be clear, I'm not deriding the Timberwolves success, they have been a revelation and incredibly fun to watch. But they're like 1 game up on Portland and 2 games down from Houston. A franchise can get to 500 without tanking.

The Wolves are in a pretty solid spot from years of tanking. They have the core in Love and Rubio and now they need one more solid piece to be a top team in the West. Most importantly, they have young, upside trade assets to get that player. Any package of Pekovic, Williams, Webster, Barea, Milicic, Randolph, Beasley and picks can get a decent return. If Boston are serious about blowing up their team, targeting guys like Allen and Pierce would be a savvy move for the Wolves. Milwaukee is currently imploding... I'd be looking to flip a package of young guys and Darko for my man Bogut. Point is, the Wolves are in a good spot after years of tanking. Don't forget they finished last year with the worst record in the NBA and now they're already close to a Playoff team (if not already one). They only had 17 wins last year, which they have surpassed in just 39 games this year. A couple of savvy buys with the solid assets they have at their disposal could easily make them one of the West's top teams. Only problem is Kahn is in charge.
