Blizzard want the korean BW scene to die and want SC2 to grow more and more... there's not any BW games at blizzcon anymore. I can't understand why they would want to bring them at blizzcon just for fun. BW in Korea >> SC2 in Korea > SC2 in the world... So.. how will they show them "how big the SC2 scene actually is in the west"...?
SC2 in the world is > SC2 in Korea judging by the numbers at MLG/IEM/IPL.

Give some new life to an old game, what do you all think? that would be really cool, but i kinda like the graphics in scbw i just wish i could run it @ higher rez I'm thinking that ideally, the "Starcraft Phoenix" would run on a derivative of the BW engine to preserve all the small bugs and quirks that are important at higher level play. However, the resolution would be higher (but possibly same zoom level), the sprites would be redone to look pretty and sharp, observer tools would be added, SC2-style matchmaking would be implemented for casual players, and the Windows Vista/7 color bugs would be eliminated forever. One can dream...
However, the OCD freak inside me feels that it would be better to announce a BW HD remake on 2013 or 2018, as 15 and 20 are prettier numbers to celebrate an anniversary.
edit: oh, and fix the official editor so that ramps are easier to make. I've had to rely on 3rd party editors and pre-made ramp templates whenever I try to mess around with BW mapmaking.
edit2: and better mod support would be nice. I'm still waiting on my Command and Conquer-Starcraft crossover mod/map.
edit3: and might as well make it free-to-play to attract a huge player base, funded by hat-based micro-transactions. Then implement a way to stream pro games in-game to this huge player base.
edit4: and it might be cool if they take the esports thing a level further by tying the micro-transaction currency with in-game betting on various pro matches. For example, let's say that a miracle happens and my bet that ACE beats SKT1 actually comes true. I suddenly have a bunch of Star-dollars that I can use to buy top-hats for my marines and a turtle skin for my CC. Crazy idea, sure, but one can dream...

Although Jaedong would be brilliant in SC2 simply because he had a 80%+ ZvZ win-rate in what is the hardest matchup to play because of its coin-flip nature, he also has the best off-race play amongst pro-gamers, so he is a great all-rounder. That said, there is no muta-micro or defilers in SC2 and zerglings cannot be microed against marines. Without these 3 concepts, Jaedongs skill would be wasted, because it is his capitalisation of the usage of these concepts its what makes him so much more fun to watch than the other players. Jaedong would simply just be the next Nestea, instead of "The Tyrant" or "The Legend Killer". Same goes for Bisu without probe-micro, corsair/DT. Or Stork without Reavers or Carriers.
THIS.
obviously, no one in both sc2 and bw can play "perfectly", keeping your resources at 0 all the time, etc.
what's important is the disparity in game results per "unit" of talent/effort.
a lot of this comes down to how much of an effect do rock-scissor-paper builds have on the final outcome. sc2 is inherently more dependent on the initial build you choose to start out with compared to bw because sc2 has less room to make up for build losses via micro and plus everything dies much faster.
if sc2 made initial scouting faster and easier (or perhaps reduced the initial worker count), it would lessen this dependency on rock-scissor-paper builds since the sooner you are able to figure out the opponent's build, the more opportunity and time you have to adapt to the build or craft a strategy around the opponent's build.
this is also why terran is so powerful in sc2 because due to many reasons (such as being able to wall in), they are usually able to dictate the flow of the game with their starting build. idra also mentioned this and is one of the few things i would completely agree with him.

Good for the guys to see America, i know for a fact Blizzard treats people they invite very well, nice hotels and they get to just relax at the event, enjoy the fame and be the stars that they are
But...no doubt they arent just invited for tee and crumpets here, either they are switching or...i really cant think of any other reason. Maybe Blizzard is using their expertise to design the new multiplayer units for HoTs, ie they serve as some sort of "council".
I still say they are switching, what other logical explanation could there be? There is no BW tournament being held or anything related to that game.
I hope its just a showmatch in BW, it would be nice if Blizzard threw a few of those with those megastars but i highly doubt it =/

They're not switching, don't be ridiculous. These caliber of players have nothing to gain by switching.

The larger western audience isn't because of some logical fallacy like that. The western world just seems to like sc2 a lot more than Korea does right now, probably because BW is still going strong.

Mmmm, black leather. I like.
So what are they doing? Just hanging around being pimps, or do they have anything scheduled?
