Nope that was my problem. Just couldn't get KOTOR to work on x64 vista

I didn't even have the chance to nostalgia for 20 minutes before I got sick of how old it is. I have to say, it's pretty fucking sad that old games are being placed for sale on steam with no attempts to ensure they will actually work on modern systems (nor even a warning about compatibility issues)... At least if I purchase a 'remastered' PS2 game for my PS3, I know it's going to bloody work!
I was pretty upset but I bought it a long time ago when the Star Wars pack was on sale. Wanted to get some Tie Fighter action going on. KOTOR was icing on the cake. Turned out the icing was the lie. Sad day when console does it better than computer.

I played through KOTOR from start to finish in last years august using Windows 7 x64, had less issues with that than I did with my old PC/XP. Not sure if something has changed after that...
Did have some crashes and the get stuck after every damn fight bug but got through it.

Midweek madness sale only 20 hours left in US.
http://store.steampowered.com/sub/11625/ ^Indie Strategy Bundle, 5 games priced at $9.99 each all for $9.99 (82% off), pretty sweet and the games look decent. Includes "Anomaly: Warzone Earth", "Defense Grid: The Awakening", "Revenge of the Titans", "Sanctum", and "Sol Survivor". I thought about picking up Sanctum, and I own defense grid, the other games don't look too bad, I might pick this up.
http://store.steampowered.com/sub/11624/ ^Indie 2D Bundle, again 5 games as above for $9.99 (80% off), and looks like it may be the better buy for those of us that enjoy something different. Games include "BIT.TRIP RUNNER", "NightSky", "NyxQuest: Kindred Spirits", "Swords and Soldiers HD", and "World of Goo". I've thought about picking up BIT.TRIP on multiple occasions, but with the other games included, I don't see myself not picking this one up.
http://store.steampowered.com/app/7520/ ^Two Worlds II: $25.99 (50% off) The game description boasts many innovative and new systems, as well as many bosses and multiplayer. The game looks like it could be a solid rpg, or just a mediocre one with gimmicky components. I'd wait to hear from anyone who's purchased it.
I'm probably going to end up grabbing both the indie packs, 10 games for $20 looks like I'll get my money's worth

I bought Crazy Taxi ):
I feel no shame!

Alpha Protocol for 2 euros is an absolute steal. The game is really fun. It was really buggy (personally never had big issues) but there have been some patches + for 2 bucks it's worth it to take the risk IMO.

I bought Civ V some days ago and I'm totally addicted.

I am too, but online is brutal.

As a fan of AvP games I must say that if you like the monsters you should get the game, it leaves you wanting more but it's still not as bad as described and graphics are quite great + multiplayer is super fun.

Do people still play multiplayer on that game?
|
alpha protocol for 2 dollars is insane. Game has problems but its worth that much

Should I pick it up? Is it fun, playable?
|
It is both fun and playable, just has gameplay issues. Shooting is governed by skills so it's unpleasant, but there are plenty of things to like about that game. edit- played it on 360, downloading from steam now. Shouldn't have left my xbox at home now that I'm in college

As much as I know - yes. It's not very populated but you can always find a dedicated server with enough people playing. Just checked server list in steam, 3 servers online with at least 10 people playing on each.

Alpha protocol is pretty good for anyone that liked deus ex and i believe its made by the same people that made vampire masquerade bloodlines.

Sweet, the total war series! I know that Rome has a bunch of user made mods that are apparently incredible, but does anyone know if there is something similar for medieval 2? Is it possible to mod files off an install from steam?

Alpha Protocol is from Obsidian Entertainment, which made KotOR 2, NWN2, and FO3: New Vegas. The lead designer for Alpha Protocol was also lead designer for Planescape Torment.

The only good ones were vanilla and Opposing Fronts. Tales of Valor was meh. IMO, of course.
