You just have made a fan out of me. Everything i wrote in my blog about Protoss vs Zerg, you had used them all with a much cleaner execution and a better style with a brighter result. I want to wish you all the best luck in GSL and hopefully i could see you in an upcoming future event outside of Korea. Great play, thank you! Your new fan, NB.

Dear jyp...
Learn to keep your collosus in the back of your army, they are not meant for tanking hydra/zergling attacks
|
haha yeah jyp really struggled to position those colossi
|
JYP micro was ahhhhhhhh, but he still won so he is doing something right lol.

He totally meta-game DRG and it just became a build order win. To do that you need to be really smart and get into your enemy's head and that is exactly what he did. omg.... so goodddddd...

I hope more Protoss take a look at JYP and start incorporating Storm Drops into their play.
Even if they are tactically inefficient, they are always a treat for any spectator. I always get nerd chills whenever a Templar pops out of a Shuttle/Warp Prism and nukes a mineral line.

Zerg is the only race that gets punished for making too many T3 units T_T feel bad for DRG, but I hope to see better play out of JYP in the Ro8. Really loved G1's warp prism play but I feel G2 and G3 he just won because he overcame DRG's risks.

In that situation, it was actually very efficient. He took out 34 drones in 1 drop. That was game changing. JYP may not have the best unit control but he knows what to do to win.

I don't even, what? He blind countered a style he didn't do the first 2 games?

That is really obvious move for PvZ overall which cause him to blind counter the non-existence VR/DT with spore and spines.
JYP simply got in DRG's head and counter it while DRG was cutting corner to set up a trap that JYP has never fallen for. Noticed how JYP even fake trying to take a 3rd while he already prepare to all in by making all the gateways.

JYP played it really well, I noticed the fake 3rd too NB that was sexy.
game 1 was kinda too fancy though but the rest of the games were so pretty.
|
While his colossus control was bad in game 3 he still played game 2 and 3 beautifully :D

I really love his innovation. It's definitely a breath of fresh air in the GSL, and I can't believe he even tried sentry drops of all things. (His templar drops were sick.)
Too bad he's hitting a Terran his next round, though, IIRC.

1-1-1 time. JYP's hard-counter to DRG's build on game 3 though, DRG dun goofed, JYP probably saw a replay or had someone tell him DRG has a tendency to do that build there. Anyways well played, dumb move by DRG in g3.

i think artosis will soon change his idea about alicia as his fav Protoss LOLOL... SAGE, JYP are just out of control with these new styles.

I don't even, what? He blind countered a style he didn't do the first 2 games? ._. You're misreading DRG's strategy. He took the gold and was using it to spread creep towards JYP's base. He was almost to the natural, coming up the bottom lane with the creep. He was going to use this to his advantage by doing a Hydralisk timing attack against JYPs walled off FFE, which is naturally vulnerable to the range of Hydras. Most Protosses would have completely died to the Hydra push with bad positioning and inferior numbers. JYP, on the other hand, scouts the gold, and IMMEDIATELY RUSHES FOR COLOSSUS, because he had a solid guess on DRG's strategy, and going fast colossus isn't all in, he can easily transition out of it.
Did you not hear Wolf express his surprise at JYP going Robo? JYP literally went Forge, expand, cannon, gateway (scouts gold), ROBO, and then more gateways. That is not a normal Protoss build. Expand, gate, robo?!? No, its usually either stargate, which gets rolled by hydra, or more gateways. DRG's build was well designed, but JYP showed INCREDIBLE game sense in going colossus.

i dont think your point is correct because im quite sure Wolf confirmed during the cast that DRG has no idea about JYP FFE. He didnt scout early game at all i dont think, at least not b4 he took the gold. The gold base mostly is to bait VR attack so he could crush it with hydra and i think there was nothing else into it.
|
idk why you think VR would be so good against the gold first. If he didn't open FFE then yeah I'd guess that a 2g stargate expand or something would be the obvious choice - But the stargate being delayed by a late gateway, late gas, late core, he can easily get 2 queens and a spore, and connect creep from the natural and from the gold (both ways) and get it taken care of.
