I'm just making a guess here, but I believe that's to both increase the intensity by putting all of the focus on the players and also to stop players from seeing when the audience is clapping or becoming excited.

I want to see their reactions as it happens, not in a delayed manner, even if only for a second. it just a slight 0.5 second delay just enough for your eyes to roll there. They did used it in BW like slow replay in soccer. Thats how we get all the funny faces of progamer in BW.

I love this, and if you are watching it happen and then look at ggaemo, you would miss his initial reaction since he is watching with you. Even a .5s delay would be cool so you could have time to think "wow that was crazy!" and then watch the player react.

I love seeing when players react to something stupid that just happened in a game. Flash reactions are typically very amusing IMO because he just has the 'Oh really?' kinda of expressions.
