The maps favor Terran, fOrGG is super hot right now, and still I know that Jaedong will take this. 3-2 or 3-1 though with at least one win being a sunken break from fOrGG.

Yeah I'm pumped this is going to be great. Jaedong is playing amazingly right now but is it really enough to overcome the map imbalance? I think forGG has a very good chance here and jaedong will have to pull one out of his ass or something.

I predict ForGG to win the finals. People have doubted ForGG this entire tournament, but he's been upsetting people left and right. His Achilles Heel was his TvT, but in this MSL alone he beat Sea[Shield] 2-0 where he was previously 0-6 against him, and he took a Bo5 against Flash 3-1. Other than TvT, ForGG's greatest weakness is that he has very little experience in Bo5's. But the series against Flash shows that ForGG is an expert at analyzing his opponent's playstyle and preparing excellent counter-builds to exploit their tendencies. This is especially relevant as ForGG and Jaedong are teammates. If he was able to destroy Flash so easily, who's to say he can't do the same with Jaedong? My prediction: ForGG 3 - 2 Jaedong.

I'll be surprised if ForGG wins one game off Jaedong in all seriousness.

Talk about a landslide.

His Cinderella story ends here.

ForGG will take this because the teammate factor brings his chances of winning way up and the shitty map pool pushes him over the top.

this is forgg's big chance - the maps, the teammate factor, the confidence boost of just beating flash..

yet somehow i still believe that JD's going to pull it off.

The Biggest OP picture for the biggest SL IMO this season, the one that Jaedong will surely take at least 3-1. If only Katrina was in the map pool.

forgg is not an expert at knowing his enemies moves, Flash has opted for a 14 cc build for like, his last 15 games. Of which the majority he has lost. Flash is predictable as hell right now, so forgg raped the hell out of him. Though he will know what Jaedong is going to do, considering their experiences together. Really, I don't know about forgg. He has great macro, but bad micro, and I think Jaedong has the ability to end it early if he fears his late game- but I doubt he does. Forgg has a 65% record against Zerg but its a little inflated considering his relative lack of games, despite them being against good opponents. Oh well, everything points to rape of Forgg, except the maps. When was the last time maps stopped a Zerg though? Savior did it, Jaedong will.
Can you dig it?

It's funny how there's always a deficiency of good zerg players and zerg in the OSL and MSL, but the zerg always do well.

Yeah but the difference between Jaedong and Flash is that Jaedong doesnt do something like 3 hatch before pool 14 games in a row in the way that Flash nonstop 14 cc's. Jaedong is probably the most versatile zerg ever in the amount of variety he can bring in his builds/tactics. He (at this point in time) can do both the best macro-oriented late game zerg and hyper-agressive all in styles, not to mention muta harass, speedling micro, etc, etc.

For example: Flash vs fOrGG, flash went 14cc basically every game, while Jaedong used a standard straight up zvt build, a 4 pool, and a 2 hatch fast muta build vs Hwasin. He cant be nearly as easily read as Flash, and fOrGG is gonna have a much tougher time.

But in a battle between teammates, the players know each other much better. For example, in the OSL finals Best might have been super surprised by July's 5pool, but when Sea[Shield] was asked about it on TLAttack, he said that most of the MBC guys who were around when July was on MBC were not really surprised by the move so much. Being previous teammates, they were familiar with the mind games that July would play.

Also think back to the Iris vs Savior semifinals in Shinhan3. Everyone thought that Savior would demolish Iris as he had been doing to every other Terran. But Iris, being Savior's teammate, had experience playing with Savior plenty of times before and made the series unbelievably close because he had additional knowledge that helped him better prepare for the match that only a teammate or close friend would be able to do.

In the situation between two players who both know each other's play styles well and have played so many games together, you can never count out the underdog. predictability among teammates is much different and can be much more accurate, even for player who seem more unpredicable than others. That being said, I'm ready to watch Jaedong roll over fOrGG.

I'm rooting for forgg, But I think jaedong will take it. Either way it should be highly entertaining and a good demostration of zvt and tvz. I hope.

Being teamates probably works against Jaedong as does it being ZvT instead of anything else. That said, this is Jaedong who had the best ZvT before he had the best ZvP, and can play low econ, heavy macro, and pretty much any style of game he wants.

I'm guessing 3-1 Jd and after seeing what he did to Lomo, I think ForGG's chances are best with straight up play.

semioldguy, Iris vs sAviOr is exactly what I was thinking of.

ForGG is 71% against zerg in 2008. ForGG just destroyed the machine and monster that is Flash. As the OP pointed out the maps are favoring terran.

I am going to be betting on ForGG unless we get another rigged game like Jaedong vs Lomo in the Gom league (joking.. joking... sort of.)
