-This strategy starts with the most common PvT opening on lost temple, 1 gateway producing dragoons, into a very quick robotics. After observer production, the observer is used to check the Terran's tech and general timing to assess the situation and adjust accordingly. Things to watch for: -On Lost Temple, if the Terran successfully pulls off FD, since your expansion comes slower than the Terran's you may start at a disadvantage. *FD Terran: Fake Double or Fast Double Terran. The Terran takes 6 marines 1 tank and vultures with mine upgrade to push while building a command center directly at his natural expansion. Advantages -Prevents losing/being at a disadvantage from the Terran's 2 factory or 1 factory 1 starport pressure. Also prevents damage from Terran vulture mine harrassment. Protoss is also able to check the Terran's tech quickly. *2 factory pressure: Lately, many protoss in an attempt to expand faster than Terran, have been building a Nexus after 1 gateway dragoon production is under way. Targeting this, Terrans may show only half his units to trick the Protoss then advance with units from 2 factories and either destroy the Protoss' new nexus or contain him. *1 factory 1 stargate: This build takes advantage of the cliffs on lost temple. As soon as the Terran gets 2 tanks, he also builds 1 dropship and drops them on the Protoss's cliff. Also, the Terran could drop 4 vultures on the Protoss mineral line. Build Order: 8.5 Pylon (8th probe already built 9th one on the way) 10.5 Gateway 11.5 Assimilator 13 Cybernetics Core Dragoon and 2nd Pylon Dragoon Range Upgrade (Before first dragoon pops out) 3rd Pylon (While 2nd dragoon is building) Robotics (While constantly building Dragoons out of one gateway, when minerals and gas reach 200) 2nd Gateway (After minerals reach 150 while constantly building Dragoons) Observatory and Observer How to play: The biggest advantage of the OpDra strat is that Protoss shouldn't receive much damage no matter what early build the Terran chooses. When the Protoss builds his second gateway, he should have about 4 Dragoons. Using the soon produced observer, scout the enemy base and react accordingly. Against Two Factories: If the Terran went for double factories, the Protoss can combat this by consistently building Dragoons and observers out of his two gateways and robotics. It is good to quickly take your natural expansion during this. Against One Factory One Starport: If the Terran went 1 fac 1 star you must quickly produce a shuttle out of your robotics to defend your cliff and base against the Terran. If the Terran is unable to do any damage with his dropship, then he is at a disadvantage because of the resources spent on the Starport instead of a Command Center or Factory. Against One Factory Double Command: If the Terran went 1 fac double, there are many things you can do. However, the most common approach is to take your mineral-only expansion almost at the same time as your natural expansion (Triple Nexus). If the Terran tries to take his mineral-only or builds an armory for upgrades, the Protoss is at an advantage. However, the Triple Nexus is weak to the Terran right around the timing of his 6th factory so be careful. Many Protoss players when attempting to Triple Nexus will build a Reaver and harrass to delay the Terran's attack timing. By delaying and working off of the power of three resource intakes the Protoss can expand his number of gateways and match the Terran's 6 factory timing rush. Final note The build order presented above is the build order most commonly used by Protoss. It's definitely not the 'best' or 'strongest' build order. Every build order has advantages and disadvantages.

This build is one of the most common builds TvP on Lost Temple. You build one factory and just enough units to defend yourself and take your natural expansion. * One Fac: One Factory * Double: Double Command Center Things to watch for On Lost Temple, if you start at 12, it's best to use this strat if Protoss is confirmed to not be at 2. This is because the rush distance between 12 and 2 is short and Protoss timing for pushing out with 3 gate shuttle zealot is significantly faster. Also, reaver and dark templar drops come at a quicker tempo than usual so it's easy to get shaken up or lose the game completely. *3 Gate Shuttle Zealot: Protoss normally starts with 1 or 2 gates producing Dragoons with Observers and then expands to his natural. However, some Protoss users sacrifice the fast expansion and get a 3rd gateway and produce a shuttle and 4 zealots. The Protoss then pushes out with his dragoons using the shuttle to take care of cliffed tanks. Protoss often times can destroy the Terran's natural expansion this way. Advantages -If the Protoss happens to choose a more 'standard' build like the OpDra, Terran can safely take his expansion at a faster time and with these resources can raise his tech quickly or amass many units in a short period of time. -Terran can guard against the wide variety of Protoss starts relatively easily. *OpDra: The most common Protoss build which incorporates Dragoon range and fast Observer production to prepare against Vultures. The Protoss then looks at the Terran's status and plays accordingly. Disadvantages If the Protoss is able to scout your base quickly and can keep his probe alive long enough to notice a One Fac Double, the Protoss can use 3 Gate Shuttle Zealots or a fast Triple Nexus to gain the upper hand. In this case, it's also good for the Terran to quickly notice the Protoss's plan. Build Order 8.5 Supply Depot (When 8th SCV is already built and the 9th one is halfway completed you will get 100 minerals) 10.5 Barracks 11.5 Refinery 14 Supply Depot Factory (Once you have 200 minerals and 100 gas) 1 Marine (To catch the scouting probe) Factory Add-On (As soon as the Factory is completed) Tank (As soon as Add-on is completed) Command Center (Right after the first tank, save for 400 minerals. Build inside your base instead of directly on) 2nd Tank Siege Mode Upgrade Engineering Bay (Prepares against fast Reaver/DT from the Protoss) 3rd Tank When your Engineering Bay is about half done, your Command Center will complete. Float it towards your expansion and exit your base with 3 tanks and SCVs. Siege these tanks and have the SCVs build turrets. Protoss Situation as Terran Expansion comes online In the case of Lost Temple, Terran can use 1 Fac 1 Star and drop tanks on the Protoss cliff or 4 vultures on the mineral line to do damage. Because of this, in the case of OpDra, since the Protoss builds robotics for observers and shuttle before his expansion, Terran can take his expansion at a faster timing. As the Terran's expansion comes online, the Protoss's Nexus will only be about 1/4 done warping. *1 Fac 1 Star: After building a factory, the Terran immediately builds a Starport and a dropship. How to Play In the case of the 1 Fac Double in the early game, safe play is the most important. It's best to keep your scouting SCV alive as long as possible to see if the Protoss is building Robotics tech or Adun tech. If the Protoss notices your intent to 1 Fac Double, then it's important to quickly build an Engineering bay to block Dark Templar or Reaver and other expensive Protoss units. After your expansion comes online, there are many things you can do but the most common way is to look at the Protoss's second expansion and play accordingly. If the second expansion is fast If the Protoss knows that the Terran's natural expansion was faster, many times he will attempt to take an extra expansion quickly and use Reaver harrassment to keep the Terran's units in his base, delaying the push. Then the Protoss can mass many units from the extra resources provided by two expansions. If Terran is able to defend against the Reaver or Dark Templar fairly easily, he can expand his factory count to 6 factories and at the timing that he has more units than Protoss, push out to deal damage to the 2nd expansion. The most important thing at this point is, even if you're unable to destroy the Protoss's 2nd expansion, if the Terran units can advance and grab good position, Terran can continue the game at an advantageous situation. (If you're a Protoss user you've probably noticed how hard it is to beat a Terran push with mines and turrets in place as well as good tank placement) Another strategy is to only expand your factory count to about 4 and then build two armories for upgrades. While building only enough units to defend yourself, you can upgrade and follow the Protoss's 2nd expansion. If the second expansion is slow If the Protoss is afraid of the Terran's push or wants to keep him from a 2nd expansion and takes his 2nd expansion slow, then he can mass many units. If this is the case, concentrate on defense and upgrades and take your 2nd expansion. If the Terran focuses on upgrades, many times the Protoss will prepare fast carriers. It's very important to catch this. (Tip: You can catch this by scanning on the Protoss's Forge or Cybernetics Core to see if he's upgrading or building Stargates.)
