EPTIn a quest for answers, mostly to show my teammates they are wrong, I put together the following statistics for your digestion. Please note I'm not trying to start a bitch fest about balance. I sincerely want answers to why Terran gets the sh*t end of the stick every time there is a patch and when Blizzard is going to actually make an effort to balance the game for everyone. In a recent forum post Blizzard claims the "matchup balance is looking pretty solid at the very highest levels of play, as well as across all skill levels, and even among major tournament winners." yet they only site results from the "top 1000 Matches".(1) Here are some stats I pulled up on SC2Ranks this evening:
* Of the 822 GM players worldwide 40.99% are Protoss, 33.81% are Zerg, and only 24.33% are Terran.
* Of the 4,713 Master players worldwide 36.07% are Protoss, 35.03% are Zerg, and only 26.37% are Terran
* Of the 8,277 Diamond players worldwide 35.10% are Zerg, 33.28% are Protoss, and only 27.48% are Terran
* Of the 12,653 Platinum players worldwide 36.16% are Zerg, 30.87% are Protoss, and only 27.59% are Terran
* Of the 31,017 Gold players worldwide 35.63% are Zerg, 29.87% are Protoss, and only 26.43% are Terran
* Of the 44,675 Silver players worldwide 31.72% are Zerg, 30.11% are Protoss, and only 28.17% are Terran
If this game is as balanced as they claim, explain to me how come the race distribution in all of the leagues is so off. Seriously, again not trying to bitch. Help me understand.
