Hello TeamLiquid. Here is the official statement I promised on FXO NA and more. http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=424279#9
I apologize for releasing it so late. I've been busy :/

FXOpen North America was formed back in late October of 2012 after FXO decided to absorb (Wiki)Team Legion. FXO released this thread in October of 2012 to announce the start of the NA division for FXO.

FXOpen North America was very active in the beginning. I would say late January and early February of 2013 was when we were in our prime. We had a very strong roster of 15 players at one point:

AuRora
Crazy
Drunkenboi
Neeb
Future
desRow
TheoRy
kaRmy
RemarK
Shield
Moosegills
jEcho
SirRobin
JimRising
Power

The goal of FXOpen North America was to create a team with a training environment for up and coming NA players. We tried to find players with a lot of potential and hidden talent and focused on brewing that talent to maximum potential. FXO NA was kind of like an academy team where NA players would have the opportunity to move to FXO Korea and pursue a pro gaming career in Korea if the NA players proved themselves to that level of capability.

Unfortunately, FXOpen North America did not have any funding or support to send our players to live events or tournaments. The goal was that the FXO Company would provide financial support if a player proved him/herself enough to the point where FXO would feel that investing into that player would be worth it. However, FXO NA was never able to get to that point. Also, since FXO also had a Korean SC2 division, all of the funding went into FXO Korea since FXO Korea was a force to be reckoned with, while FXO NA still hadn't proved itself.

A lot of people asked why FXO did not advertise the NA team or the KR team. Honestly, we really did try our best. We developed this really awesome new web site, established a staff purely for public content, and we put our highest priority and the majority of our focus into PR for the year 2013. Unfortunately, a lot of things got in the way during the process and things just didn't end up working out. We had so many great things in stored for the future that I was so heartbroken to see that none of it ever got executed.

I also saw a lot of comments from people asking if FXO NA ever participated in team leagues or anything like that.
During our 10 months of activity before disbanding, FXO NA participated in:
http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/2013_IGN_Pro_Team_League_Season_1/Amateur_Division#Group_4
(Wiki)ZGT Team League (1st Place)
http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/Acer_TeamStory_Cup/US_KR_Qualifiers#Results
http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/Acer_TeamStory_Cup/US_Qualifiers#Results
http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/User:Team_OP/Team_OP/OpRace_Team_League (cancelled midway)
(Wiki)OMGL Season 1 (2nd Place)
(Wiki)Under Rated Team League Season 2 (4th Place)

I also kept a record of friendly CWs we participated in, as well as FXO NA inhouses that I came up with:
http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/User:Seeker/Results
http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/User:Seeker/InHouse

Unfortunately, as we progressed into mid 2013, things started going downhill. Several FXO NA players started going really inactive and other started considering leaving FXO NA to pursue other opportunities. By the end of July, our roster had significantly reduced down to about 9 players and our team spirit at that point was pretty much at an all time low.

FXO started contemplating about whether or not we should just disband the NA team. Even though I made the decision to fight it out and try to keep the team running for as long as possible, an unforeseen happening occurred and Daniel "Unstable" Siddel, FXOpen e-Sports' CEO, decided to resign. Daniel's video statement on why he resigned
Daniel was the backbone of the whole FXO organization, so him resigning pretty much meant there was nothing left for us to work with. I disbanded the NA team and the FXO staff also now no longer exists.

Kumiho - Resigned
Raelcun - Resigned
Seeker - Translator
storywriter - Resigned
Supreme - Unchanged
Unstable - Resigned
Volt - Resigned

So what does this mean for FXO Korea? Nothing. FXO Korea is perfectly fine. Choya will be managing all aspects of the Korea team in Daniel’s place and FXO will continue to sponsor the team and nothing will have changed. I am still functioning as a translator for FXO for now so everything’s all good there.

This is really great news considering how much potential the FXO Korea SC2 team and DotA 2 team hold. I hope many people are excited about the fact that FXO Korea will not be disbanding. Everyday Choya gets more and more excited for FXO’s future, so I hope this news will put a lot of people into eager anticipation of FXO’s performance to come.

Last but not least, I just want to take this moment to thank everyone I ever got to work with during my time with FXO. The players, the staff, friends, acquaintences, etc. etc. I will never forget any of you. I truly wish each and every one of you the best of luck in your future endeavors.

Two thumbs up for everyone related to FXO NA or KR's hard work and I hope everything works out as well as possible for everyone involved. A few of these guys have some talent that I'd hate to see wasted. I also had no idea storywriter did stuff for FXO :o

Sad for NA (although nothing was lost, really) but nice to see FXO KR keeping up in their performance. I hope GuMiHo gets rid of his occasional slumps.

I didn't learn a thing reading this statement. All I learned was that you had plans and things (though not detailed) occurred that prevented it from happening.

I think he summed it up pretty well. The bumps in the road are private but it hindered what was planned. When players started leaving for other offers everyone seemed to be unmotivated to do anything and we agreed that FXO.NA wasn't working out.

Sad that the FXO NA team disbanded but it sounds like it was mutual according to what kaRmy said. Best of luck to everyone involved!

Pardon the copy paste from the previous thread, but it does more justice here.

As a manager myself and someone that follows the scene, it is without a doubt in my mind that FXO NA was one of the premiere teams in the region. Ever since their inception, they set high standards in terms of player skill, and just as importantly, being well mannered and well run. It was an honor to play against them and to get to know their players and management.

Sorry it didn't work out, sounds like you did your best with what you were given. Nobody it as fault here, It's simply an inevitability of the NA scene's lack of support.

Damn, I am sad for the sexiest player of NA : RemarK!

I hope he'll find something (or go inactive, he should do fine there too)

Torte. What more would you like to know? If I can answer them for you, I will.

That really sucks. Hopefully the leftover players from FXO NA will be able to find some teams.

Aww too bad. With everyone complaining about 'NA needs a scene' having less pro teams is definitely not a good thing.

No one is asking questions yet you feel you need to continue to address why FXO.NA shutdown. As you can see by the lack of posts there is no controversy just let it go.
