Welcome to another installment of the Clarity Gaming Bi-Weekly Wrap Up! For those of you who have been paying attention and who can count to two (thus differentiating yourselves from our Media Director), it has been quite a bit longer than two weeks since our previous update. Not to worry! This update should give you a peek into what has been going on in Clarity’s super secret factory of esports!

We all know that MLG Dallas broke some serious records with regard to viewership (most importantly Starcraft beat out League of Legends on concurrent viewer count). But did you know that Clarity Gaming’s very own Felipe “cKiLLeR” Zuñiga was the last non-Korean standing in that tournament?
No? Well you should check out his matches (links below)! cKiLLeR produced some amazing matches. Despite being ill, cKiLLeR pulled out an impressive victory over EG’s ThorZaIN. By the time that cKiLLeR played that match, he was facing the sole remaining player from Evil Geniuses remaining in the tournament. cKiLLeR’s win not only put him in the money, it also signaled to the world that he was a force to be reckoned with. Clarity Gaming’s Zerg from Chile may not have been well known in North America prior to his MLG debut, but his popularity is soaring and we look forward to great things from him.
Sadly, cKiLLeR was eventually knocked out of the tournament by STX SouL’s Last (who would go on to lose to the tournament’s champion, StarTale’s Life).
This was cKiLLeR’s first MLG and his excitement was certainly felt by those around him. Despite his excitement, his illness, and his jet lag, cKiLLeR was an absolute professional throughout the tournament.
Interviews:
A few more interviews will be coming out from different sources over the next few weeks but please be sure to check out cKiLLeR’s interview with Slasher: Interview Link

The following is a message from Clarity Gaming’s CEO, Brandon Altman, regarding the failed NYC Barcraft from MLG Dallas:
Despite having been involved in the Starcraft scene for a number of years now, I had never had the opportunity to attend a Barcraft until this past MLG Dallas. Unfortunately for Shuttle, Shew, coL.Sasquatch, MotoK, and me, it was a pretty terrible first experience. Though the ball was dropped in many different areas, the day also served to remind us of how resilient and supportive this community can be.
First and foremost let me state that while there were numerous issues that occurred around the planning and execution of the barcraft, I do not believe that the blame necessarily rested fully on the venue (Manhattan Proper) or ONOG as an organization. The fact remains that there was not enough communication between the two and that, sadly, led to a failed event.
Having noticed on the Facebook Group that the event was 18+, three of the players I brought happened to be under 21. Apparently that wouldn’t have been a problem if we had gotten there as soon as the event started, but due to New York’s public transportation we ended up running late. When we finally arrived at the bar it was snowing so I sent the players in while I waited outside to have a cigarette. A bouncer at the door turned Gage, Alex and SeongJin back because they were under 21.
The owner of the establishment was conveniently outside at the time as well so I asked why the players got sent out for being under 21 when they had let in 18 year olds earlier and the Facebook/Forums thread on the event clearly said 18+. He seemed frustrated with the situation already and wouldn’t let me ask my question without interrupting to repeat something to the extent of “I can’t have anyone under 21 in here, I don’t care what it said.” Realizing that we weren’t going to get anywhere standing outside in the snow, we instead grabbed some lunch at a Chinese-fusion restaurant down the block and met up with some fans and friends who had left the barcraft because of how they were being treated.
After lunch, one of the awesome people we met up with in NYC (ByroniousMonk--thanks again!) invited us all back to his apartment to watch the KiLLeR vs Thorzain series so we wouldn’t miss it. We managed to squeeze in and watch the awesome series on a big screen TV with a couple of brews for those who could and ended up having our own little Barcraft. Felipe played amazing and although the day started out rough it ended up being a great experience overall.
Let this be a lesson for the community. It’s great that we can pull together and be there for one another when things don’t work out; but we should also focus on improving the professionalism of the non-esports organizations with whom we partner. Esports is still growing but we can’t use that as an excuse when our endeavors fail. We have to learn from our mistakes and make the next event (or, in this case, barcraft) even better!

Due to our failure to keep up to date with the Bi-Weekly Wrap Ups, we decided to give you a little sneak peek at an upcoming show that Clarity is producing.
This show (currently codenamed project ZombieGrub) will be unlike any other show in esports. Each week, the outstanding host of project ZombieGrub will be edumacated on the finer points of gaming by a rotating roster that includes some of your favorite esports personalities. Why edumacated and not educated? Well, we at Clarity Gaming think that just sitting around talking about retro or newly released games can get old. That’s why our goal is to make sure that the comedic aspects of the guests and host synergize to give the viewer an esports show like none other!
Please stick around for future updates. The name of our host (although, you can probably guess who it is), as well as the first few topics and guests will be released in the near future!
