The Invitation sent to e-sports journalists:
"Hello, Blizzard Entertainment prepared a place for a new leap of SC2 e-sport with you journalists, and Mike Morhaim, the CEO of Blizz. will also visit Korea. Revealing the new direction, we invite you to make the environment that everyone goes together. Please come and give us some cheer. Thank you."

(from source 1)

Blizzard Ent. announced that they arranged an event for another leap for SC 2 E-sports scene, and also Mike Morhaim, the Blizz. CEO will attend.

Blizz. mentioned that "We will present the new path for E-sports and make the SC 2 Environment that everyone goes together" through the invitation. It is easily guessed that Blizz. will make an announcement about SC 2 leagues. However, it's hard to guess what it will be about.

(from source 2)

It was told that Blizzard Ent. has been adjusting both individual and team leagues in Korea and negotiating with KeSPA and Broadcast companies.

The objects being adjusted are all the leagues held with WOL. GSL, GSTL, Proleague, and OSL are included. OSL hasn't been held after the Auction All Kill OSL, and Proleauge will not be played in WOL anymore, either.

-ellipsis- (The article basically talks about transitioning into HoTS, etc...)

Actually, according to a person concerned to E-sports broadcast, Blizz. has been trying the consolidation of SC 2 individual leagues. The Idea to operating brands OGN and Gretech have been taking care of together.

-ellipsis- (Gretech has given all the rights as the host to the Blizz., but hasn't OGN.)

However, with a persuasion of Blizz. with much money, OGN will also take a choice to be a supervision broadcast company (just like Gretech). OGN demanded billions won ( which is like millions dollars in USD), and it was told taht BLizz will support OGN with 2 billion won a year( which is 1.8 million USD)

It's noticeable that Blizz. is completely excluding KeSPA and the Proleauge. It was revealed that there is no plan to support Proleauge while Blizz. is investing billions won just for only OGN.

(from source 3)

It has been told that the new e-sports model Blizz. is preparing is as same as the Riot's League of Legends's model.

What Blizz. is presenting is a mdel with one integrated individual league.(translator: This just means intergrating GSL and OSL, not the other leagues outside of Korea, like mlg or DH.) It's meant to combine OSL and GSL. Ofcourse, it was known that the brand of GSL and OSL will keep existing, but it's not different to that Blizz. is combining into one.

If OSL and GSL become together, it will be easier to make up the list of players for the WCS. Blizz. had national and Continental preliminaries, but they wre not effective. Many popular and storng players were dropped out through the Korean national preliminary. Even thought most of Korean Players went to the Grand Finals through the Asian preliminaries, but there wasn't a big impact. (translator: I have no idea what this guy is intended to say with the last sentence.)

If Blizzard runs the new combined league, The seasonal top players will receive "points", and it might be used to get seeds to be the Korean or Asian representative players for WCS. Players will try to maintain their plays to be the best the whole seasons of 2013, and the representative players get more attention of the fans.

-ellipsis- (The rest of the aricle is basically how this is similar to Riot's policy, and the advantages and the disadvantages.)

Summary of the article from the source 4:
1. GSL and OSL will not die
2. GSL and OSL share the seeds(GSL seeds from OSL and OSL seeds from GSL)
3. KeSPA excluded from the support
4. Blizz. insists:
-The amounts of moneys are wrong
-The league changes are the results of agreements between OGN, Gretech, and Kespa, and Blizz. (I assume that ESF was not in the list because Gretech is the head of ESF)
-The plans were to make leagues more clear, so they feel frustrated for all the misunderstandings.
-There will be consistent discuss about team leagues
5. So, Blizz. wants all the fans to wait for the "announcement" on April 3rd.

(from source 5: KeSPA's announcement)

With the release of HoTS, KeSPA and Blizzard agreed to cooperate for the activation of individual leagues, the globalization of Proleague, and the enlargement of amateur leagues and to make the partnership stronger.

We judged taht the antagonism of E-sports subjects including KeSPA and Blizz. just disturbs the development of E-sports, hurts the fans, and bring up the inhibition of the development of the production. Therefore, we agreed about them.

Also, we are trying for the stable operation and the league participation of the teams under KeSPA, and we will cooperate to let our ability and Infrastructure ,which has developed Korean scene, help the global parts, including the US.

The article of a certain press that talks about contracts of 2 billion won or 0.3 billion won has nothing to believe. We will explain about the details on the global event at April third.

Once again we are sorry for that it has been shown like we are having conflicts.

We will try our best for the stable environment for the players and always communicate with other organizations and people in the E-sports scene and fans.

-------------------------------------------

Conclusion and summary:
1. Blizz. will make OSL and GSL more combined in some ways.
2. All the rights about OSL will be Blizzard's as the case of GSL.
3. Blizz. will support OGN around 1.8 M USD a year for this. (just as they were supporting GSL) (Blizz. denied about the amount)
4. Kespa and Proleauges are not the objects to be affected.
5. The details will be announced at April 3rd, 2013 ( which is a day before GSL starts)
6. Kespa actually get some money too. (0.3 B Won = 0.27 M USD) (see right below)

-----------------------------------------------

Rumors in Korean SC 2 communities (Rumors are just rumors, but the ideas were quite interesting.)

1. The two code S seeds are Rain (as announced before) and Last, because they were two of the best four players in the last OGN.

2. The reason for their seeds are either because there will be no Starleague anymore, or simply the unity between GSL and OSL will be stronger.

3. GSL might become the only one individual league in Korea, and it will be broadcast on both GOM TV and OGN.

4. GSL may change its name ( like Blizzard Starcraft 2 League or etc.)

5. Blizz. is planning to make SC2 leagues like LOL Championship by giving some points for winners of tournaments and maybe regulating players by their regions.

6. The next OSL will not be held. ( The reason people think like this is basically OGN hasn't announced any schedule of OSL while all other broadcast schedules were announced, and their schedule is basically full for most of days: (Monday: LoL show of Kim Carry, Tuesday: Psipers League, Wednesday: LoL Champ, Thursday: empty, Friday: LoL Champ, Saturday: Proleague and LoL Champ, Sunday: Proleague.) Considering that OSL used to spend 2 nights every week, there is no space for OSL currently.)

7. Many concerned people knew about it, and there was a kind of embargoes on it(official or unofficial), but DES broke it to show the anger of KeSPA. (It was known that DES and KeSPA are in a very close relation.)

8. OGN may offer a short tornouments for LOL and SC2 just like MLG in Korea instead of "straleague". (This is more a wish of fans than a rumor though)

Well GSL/OSL have overlapping players, so not sure if it makes much sense, but a Pro-league/GSTL partnership would be huge.

Most likely an expansion/ revision/ improvement upon the WCS system from last year.

Sundance has said something about something to replace the open bracket at MLG.

Probably a cohesive region based league system?

i personally feel the presence of the million dollar tournaments that valve and riot hold aren't really too good for the scene... imo it's much better to have more spread out, smaller tournaments. with million dollar tourneys, all the hype/training goes towards one single event each year and it's not surprising that teams disband and stuff afterwards. way too top heavy imo, i quite enjoyed the WCS (even though i would have liked even more spread)

edit: ooh OP delivers with new info, interesting

Maybe this will answer why Rain got the seed, why MLG is getting rid of open bracket, and a plethora of other mysteries.

I just hope it is entirely good news. I'm constantly paranoid that Proleague will decide they aren't getting the views they need and pull out of SC2. Still everything sounds good so far.

yeah but if you look at The International so many teams disband after it and teams like Navi are accused of only trying when that time of the year comes around.

I like our format more.

Apparently OGN is getting paid by Blizzard to broadcast the league under Blizzard's name. OGN has nothing to lose here but KeSPA will take a big hit. I don't know how Proleague can continue without OGN's support, and pretty much all of e-sports in Korea is LoL and SC2. KeSPA doesn't control LoL league and if they lose control of SC2 as well, they're in deep trouble. I dislike this move by Blizzard, it just reminds me what they did to destroy BW in Korea. Now they're going to destroy an organization that pretty much made e-sports happen in Korea. Even though many people dislike KeSPA's practices, you have to admit that they were very effective in getting the job done, which was to stabilize the e-sports industry in Korea.

The last line of DES's article also says that the KeSPA teams are already showing disapproval since Blizzard shows a lack of care for Proleague and they see no reason to send their players to a league sponsored by the organization that shows such a lack of care for KeSPA and its teams that worked so hard to develop the players.
