Source: This Is Game

What are your thoughts on winning this match?

Choya: It feels good to play a broadcasted match for the first time in a while and win.

JKS: When they said that we would switch to Heart of the Swarm, I worried very much. I felt very doubtful; I had to play ZvT even though I had prepared for ZvP, so I had no confidence that I would win. But still, I was able to show good results because my builds worked out well.

The fans have said that your performance today was not up to par. What do you think of this?

Choya: To be honest, even we thought Do we really have to go this far to win? as we practiced. JKS's builds were like that in particular. But in Heart of the Swarm, there are many areas in which Zerg has a hard time against Terran. Even if this is an event tournament, we had to find a way to win, and this is the method that we found. I do feel sorry that we couldn't show more entertaining games for the fans, and we'll show something better during the semifinal match against AZUBU.

Because we lacked Terran cards today, the games weren't very interesting, so from the semifinals onward, we're thinking of showing a performance that the fans can look forward to. Prize money is prize money, but because the GSTL title is on the line, we have a strong desire to win; if we take this tournament, we can ride the momentum into the regular seasons. Please understand.

You made good use of Protoss's new units and abilities.

Choya: Originally, I wasn't planning to go for Warp Gate pressure against MarineKing, but I saw that he was going for a Command Center-first and even killed two of the SCVs that were building it. I changed my build because I was playing a match for the first time in a while and wanted to win; Mothership Core busts are very strong.

Against Maru, it seems that you could have blocked his Medivac attacks better.

Choya: At first, I stopped his Medivacs very well; I think it was because I used my Oracles and Mothership Core well. But when I scouted him afterwards, he had three Command Centers. I was busy thinking of how difficult it would be to win, and I couldn't block his two-Medivac attack because I had left my Oracles at the natural.

Are you planning to become more active as a player during Heart of the Swarm?

Choya: I don't really think that. Honestly, I'm thinking of retiring [as a player]. I just wanted to try playing a bit more. To be truthful, if I had played as I normally do, I think I would have lost, but I had fun creating new builds, so I wanted to try them out today. Once the other players get used to Heart of the Swarm, I think I'll retire [as a player]. There isn't enough time to practice when you're already managing a team.

You won for the first time in a GOMTV regular match, and you even performed a multi-kill.

JKS: To be honest, I had very little confidence in my ZvT. I was looking to face a Protoss, so it was troubling. But still, that sudden change was very helpful to me; I think it's important to face things like that in order to progress as a pro gamer.

You had trouble against Reaper harassment during your game against Maru.

JKS: At a pro gamer level, it's tough to avoid taking damage from a proxy 8-Rax Reaper build; even if you block it, you have to play from a very difficult position. ZvT is really hard for me. Part of it is due to my lack of skill, but the majority of Zergs are struggling with it in Heart of the Swarm. I think that the game will need to be researched more from now on.

We've heard that playing Zerg has become fairly difficult in Heart of the Swarm.

JKS: ZvT has become considerably more complicated. As it is right now, there is no safe composition you can go for, unlike in Wings of Liberty. But in ZvP or ZvZ, it's possible to play using the new Heart of the Swarm units. For now, Zerg isn't looking very good against Terran.

What kind of pro gamer do you want to become in the future?

JKS: I think I'm getting old in the world of pro gaming, and I think this is my start. There are a lot of young pro gamers, but I want to steadily perform as I did today and live life as a pro gamer as long as possible.

We're curious to hear your thoughts on balance in Heart of the Swarm.

Choya: The Protoss's Mothership Core and Tempest are incredibly good, as well as the Terran's Medivac boosters and 8-8 Reaper build; the Widow Mine and Hellbat drops are also dangerous. I think that how Zergs use Vipers will become very important.

What do you predict the results of your Ro4 match against AZUBU will be?

Choya: Thanks to Genius, I don't think we'll lose against AZUBU (laughs). Genius and SuperNoVa have called our team easy opponents, but it's not anyone that loses twice in a row in the GSTL. It didn't feel good to hear that, so we're not planning to lose against AZUBU (laughs).

Are you planning to use your Terran cards against AZUBU?

Choya: I'm thinking of utilizing all three races. We played as we did today because Prime is an extremely strong team, but I think we can play a balanced match against AZUBU. We'll send Tear and GuMiho forward and prepare as hard as we can to show good games and win.

Do you have anything more to say?

Choya: I'd like to wish happy birthday to JKS today. I'm thankful to our team's sponsors, FXO, Twitch.tv, and Razer. I'm also grateful to the fans who cheer for us, as well as my parents for showing concern for me, my teammates for working hard, and coaches Kwon Jae-hwan and Choi Seung-min. We'll show better games against AZUBU.

JKS: My parents have always asked when I would finally win a game (laughs). Since I took two kills today, I can look up to my parents' faces with more confidence. I'm thankful to the fans who gave me a birthday cake and the coaching staff for putting up with my obnoxiousness and straightening me out. I'm also thankful to my Terran and Protoss teammates for helping me practice.

Also, lol @ AZUBU's comment. You don't mess with FXO in team leagues.

Choya's probably been the most consistently good player coach in sc2. Despite coaching I feel he must still play a lot which is quite contrary to an interview with TheWind about his time management when he was relevant, though I think TheWind had more management responsibilities on oGs than Choya does for FXO.

I remember Choya getting a lot of shit for putting himself in a GSTL match, and how people were being retarded hating on a competent coach that led his team from last place fOu to success on top of playing.

Hope he gets a little more praise with his kills, especially since he's going to be leaving the booth.
