NOTE: I looked for a similar thread the first pages of general but couldn't find one, so figured I'd make a thread.
Appearently, Stephano's tweet about getting a knife onto the plane to Korea got more attention than he most likely previously thought it would.
Sweden's biggest newspaper, Aftonbladet, picked up on the "news" and wrote an article about it. They also didn't hesitate to put in more information than just the knife-incident - they pretty much summed up everything questionable that Stephano ever did. You know what they say though - there is no such thing as bad publicity.
You can find the article HERE. The page is in Swedish however.
I don't know if I'm allowed to translate it, but if someone feels like translating, I can always edit the OP.
EDIT:
Translation by iLose4u:
"The French e-sport star Ilyes "Stephano" Satouri, 19, knows how to make headlines. The other day he brought a knife on board an airplane - and tweeted about it.
Ilyes Satouri is one of Europe's most succesful"StarCraft" player, but also one of the most controversial. During last year's DreamHack Summer Satouri visited the nightclub "Silver" in Jönköping where he got so intoxicated that the police had to apprehend him. In October, the Frenchman's club, "Evil Geniuses", suspended him for a month for making a joke about having sex with minors. "I want to sincerely apologize to all my fans, my teammates, Evil Geniuses and their sponsors for my comments. They were insensitive, inappropriate and out-of-bounds. The serious consequences they have had for me are justified. I take full responsibility for my mistake and I will be more careful in the future, stated Satouri.
The caution lasted barely three months. The other day "Stephano" left France for a pro sojourn in Starcraft crazy South Korea. On board the plane Satouri visited the toilet and took a picture of the knife he had in his carry-on. The Frenchman posted the picture on Twitter and wrote: "I managed to fly armed with a knife. I did not even try to do it, so I can only imagine how easy it would be for a bad guy to do it. " The tweet has since been deleted, but in a subsequent post the Frenchman clarifies that his intention was never to bring a weapon on board. "I must point out that it was in my carry-on by mistake, haha."
Ilyes Satouris prank got Dreamhack CEO, Robert Ohlén, to tweet a message to "Stephano": "Not a smart move young Padawan, to photograph yourself with a weapon on board an aircraft and post it on Twitter." "It shows, Satouri replied," how innocent and harmless I am (and also what an idiot I can be sometimes). ""

I could put up a translation, just not sure if that's some copyright whatever issue.

Considering contemporary tabloid culture in some countries, this really shouldn't be a big deal.
|
It should be mentioned that this is in the gaming section of the online paper, not like the front page of it or something. True Aftonbladet journalism though ; )
|
Wow. I think I can speak for the majority of us when I say that was really unexpected.

lol i just used the auto translation seemed pretty accurate but wow just wow. Stephano man i love watching you play but how dumb can u be to post a picture on twitter of u in an airplanes bathroom holding a knife u "accidentally" got onto the plane. I don't think its a big deal cause it doesn't bother me but for anyone who doesn't know what starcraft is or who this stephano is will prob be pissed.

If you check www.aftonbladet.se, it is indeed on the first page.

Stephano does indeed make some weird decisions from time to time but I don't see how this one can cause much trouble anyway... It's the airline problem after all, he didn't try to do shit with it.
|
just google translate the page, it's good enough. Short summary: Stephano tweeted a pic of him with a knife on a plane. This isn't the first time he has done something retarded. He got arrested/thrown out of a club in sweden and said on live stream that he had sex with minors.
|
I think I missed something here...I can see why some would make it a big deal, but first off, really? Really, Stephano? Why make jokes in public about getting a knife on a plane? The stupidity of some people....

I meant in the paper version, but sure.

Ah, Aftonbladet never fails to "impress" me. Pret-ty slow on the ball, and generelly quite shitty in terms of quality and well... everything.
|
Oh look journalists blowing things entirely out of proportion, never thought I'd see that in my lifetime
|
Impressive. - so my Swedish friends informed me it's not the greatest 'newspaper'.
|
Oh so Stephano did get a article about him on Aftonhoran. God I hate that paper.
Also love the US peoples reaction to this here. Shocked like its the end of the world lol.
